  • This is part 2 of an Investment Guide and explains economics, value investing, and the market for Black Desert Online NA Server.
    Part 1 here: • Part 1: How I Made 55 ...
    How Wagons Paid for my PEN Laytenn 30Billion in 1 Week here: • PEN Laytenn from Wagon...
    This was a 51 Billion Silver Investment over a couple months that became valued at 128 Billion before taxes. After taxes and sales the profit was 56billion silver. I bought 21,000 sharps in 1 day, and 25k sharps and 23k hards for the total investment. Sol my PEN Nouver, PEN Griffin, PEN Muskan, TET Ogre, TET Tungrad, TET Basilisk, Vell's Heart and others for capital!
    You can learn what I did it. It was not a fluke, it was one more solid investment in a 3-4 year trend of successes. I have explained the laws that govern the acquisition of silver for years, when would you like to start profiting?

    I subbed because BDO tweeted out the first part, and I need to say that I would be content if this was the only sort of content you did. I think a reason a lot of people (and myself included) have not so much a weak grasp of markets in concept up a poor understanding of markets in practice; video games are something that most of us are very comfortable with and understand intrinsically, so having this sort of proxy to help learn how investing really works is invaluable. Or, so I think. I'll also say that I've only just entered into BDO, and I take comfort knowing someone like you is out there in the game. You remind me somewhat of the youtuber-turned-developer of Planetside 2, Wrel, for the deep insight he provided into his respective game.
    A short comment about the criticism you receive... I'm not actually sure I need to say anything. I heard your mention of d'Anconia Copper, I know that you know just as well as I do or anyone else why people get spooked by these kinds of things.

    This reminds me of my time on Runescape back in the day when things were great. The grand exchange (auction house that is for all servers in one) was just released and people started flipping items and investing and it was just so much fun watching it all go down. Merch'ing clans became a thing and you had people pooling gold together to buy out entire markets of items. One case in particular if i remember correctly was crazy, cuz i think it was a single guy bought out the entire games supply of nature talismans. And then waited and the price shot up over time and he made like hundreds of billions, which back in that time frame of runescape was an absurd amount of money that actually meant something. Later on when dicing/gambling clans became a thing that amount of money was like who cares?
    But this dude was crazy at the time.
    Also, did you manage to get all your gear back after this? Or did you manage to get even better gear?

      I did not. Had a year and a half of Penn State which amounted to nothing and dropped out to learn business from those succeeding in it. Over 8 years of sales, leading teams, running businesses, owning various small ones, investing in real estate reading 100 books and studying from those wiser than myself while making every mistake possible in many fields I became educated in economics and business. Working 80-100 hours weekly for a decade gets you a lot of life experience fast, my life is much more peaceful now and I eventually hope to create videos as a living. Though I'm not quite there yet.

    On EU servers the economy is worse than it was before this video. Free boss gear, free accesories and gear from seasonal, oasis event - free meals, tons of free stuff. Supply is insane, demand is 0, not because there is no silver in people's hands because there is no need for items, on top of that the servers are overpopulated and the few items that are in demand also have a ton of supply.

    • @BladeBoques
      @BladeBoques  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting observation. Yes even in mirror servers of a game economies develop differently. The US has always had more silver than the EU counterpart, for a variety of reasons. If there were not price floors people would be free to get the value they wanted for their item rather than someone else (the central market government) deciding it for the people. This limits transactions by a restriction of freedom, and works to slow the economy down. In any case this crazy move of mine was not the result simply of a price point, of the behavioral change of our particular economy where people were reacting to symptoms of a problem in a way that made it appear to anyone that the problem was not as temporary as it was. You can find the same opportunities I found, but they will be at different times, items, and prices than mine were.

    Two new classes coming soon. Now would be a good time to invest in Offin Tett weapons. After 30 days people will throw their credit cards at them to change classes. That and the new succession ability tree that's coming to all classes. It will make mainhand the most important weapon and therefore make Offin Tett best in slot. The price will skyrocket, maybe double.

  • @aaateam111
    @aaateam111 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I've got a question, When silver was being thrown into the sink hole, wouldn't the entire market have felt the effect gradually? enough for them to lower the price. I know when there's in/deflation of money, price can be sticky. How did the players maintain the bubble without feeling the effects?
    I don't know the time gap between cron bug and central market.(haven't kept in touch with the game)

    so i haven't played the game in a couple years, i had stopped cuz i just felt like I could not begin to compete with the literal grind this game made you do. Between having to set up the huge network of nodes and endless grinding mobs for silver and the insane RNG on gear, as a new player at the time I just couldnt do it. That and the way to get ahead is to leave your pc running 24/7 for work orders I couldn't do that, and now that my pc is better than before I still don't like leaving it on. Has the game gotten any better in these areas? I didn't even get to experience the amazing pvp and combat this game has to offer cuz I couldn't get up to that point. :(

    I hardly understand anything he says. Basically we have a Sharps/Hard event that caused a massive influx of those important enhancing materials. With an influx, supply shot past demand, which caused the price to tank. He , being a billionaire anyway, bought every single goddamn one imaginable. Once the event ended, the price of Sharps and Hards shot back up because the supply not only slowed down because of event ending, but because he bought every single one, so there was a drought.
    Demand shot post supply, causing the price to go up. Then he posted, and made profit. Am I right on that? Because if so, that's basic economics. That's just simple supply and demand knowledge, based around an event.
    Now he mentioned the NA bug thing. I got lost trying to listen to him honestly, but did he or did he not profit from that bug? Because PEN attempts were easy, players dumped silver into the fucking void (Crons), which removed it from circulation. They were removed from circulation, correct me if i'm wrong, because if your enhancement attempt FAILED...boom there goes your silver for however many crons you used. If it WORKED, you still lost that silver, it wasn't ADDED to the value of your PEN, your PEN is still whatever value it was before he bought all the sharps/hards.
    On top of the fact that if you USE the PEN gear ofr yourself, that silver is removed from circulation because your wearing it, and posting it means you have to hope someone fucking buys it. Which nobody would since everyone was using silver on crons.
    Now cron prices correlate with Sharp/Hard prices if i remember him saying that correctly, right? So he buys all the shards, prices of hards and sharps go up. Which makes Crons go up. People dumping silver into Crons , meaning billions being dumped into the void instead of circulation. Now the game is low in Silver, low on Hards and Sharps, Hards and sharps aren't in circulation that much since a lot of them were bought by him. Demand goes up, and he sells for a big profit.
    Am I wrong? I really did try following him, but I got lost since he double backs on his statements a lot and side tracks a little.

    • @helioshyperion8077
      @helioshyperion8077 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      yes exactly there was no magic to it as he claims.
      i mean you don't need to be smartass when you see a fucking event that throws free profitable items and as a result they all throw those free items they got into the market, of course the price will go down, since all try to trade them off with silver as fast as possible.
      then a smartass comes has like 40bil to invest, yeah you could say he might lose 30% due to tax but, when you fucking buy all of course the damn sharp once the event ends, will sky rocket in prices due to the demand cuz there is none left in the market. i mean this was a smart move by his part and it was also a big LUCK he spotted it, and he had the 40bil.
      basicaly from what he said he earned 55bil back, which is 15bil extra he got for free.
      its not much based on that he risked 40bil, but i shouldnt say he ''risked'' cuz the damn thing has a base price, once demand prices will go up.
      same shit with all items in the market, thing that is really shit for new players like myself that i played 1 month and made 2bil which is NOTHING, i can't just start investing items i dont even know what's their use, there are thousand of items that have multiple uses behind, hell i didnt even know fucking weed was profitable, i just threw the damn shit into trash can early days. i even threw to the garbage can +15 full drop items cuz i saw them red, vendor wouldnt buy it, market place was really not friendly to newcomers, i mean i had to really look into it to discover that you could sell those items in the market and i mean really SELL not leave it to stay for months there.
      cuz i am coming from a different world of mmorpg, Lineage 2 we also have marketplace like this, exactly same and the market is not fixed or have a base price, we players made the base price for most stuff, and trash loot(full drop under tier gear) wouldn't be sold even if you placed it super low price, it would literaly stay there for months.
      and yeah i feel BDO is more than a game, based on the market and many many other aspects.

I was hoping to do tons of money with the panic on market, everyone trying to get manos acessories, etc... but it end up coming in parts, and when manos finally hit us, the HYPE was gone and only the most hardcore ppl still wanted to do them, and they prepared beforehand... now we can see vanadium essence (my main hope) being selled at garanteed loss... Just waiting till the market absorb the dumb price and get back to what is worth... Great strategy, I kinda always did all you did, but with less investment.

    I dont wanna hate or anything but you saying that you made 56 billion in 5 hours is really just a clickbait. First you studied economics, which helped you with analysing the market (I dont really know how long you studied but lets say 5 years), then you wasted 3 years playing the game which ended in you having the 51bil capital in the first place. Only after that it took you 5 hours and 2 months of waiting to make 56bil. Again I am not trying to hate or be negative, but you saying that is the same as people saying they made billions off trading neglecting the fact that other life skills like proccessing or gathering or getting the resources from nodes also contributed to their profit.
    P.s. sorry for my english, but i hope you understand what i am trying to say

      If you counted all the work leading up to the initial buy then your math says basically since he was born. An investment is calculated from entering the market in which your balance becomes equity and from exiting the market in which your equity becomes realized gains/losses and turns back into your balance.

    • @zinfex6146
      @zinfex6146 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@JustAnotherTom Wow never thought someone would reply after 3 years, but essentially yes, you are right, still a clickbait though, I could make a video where I had 50 billion coin, bought something for that money and sold it directly afterwards, counting the bdo tax(or if you apply it to real life than the market fee and normal tax) I would make around 35-40 billion coin back (Im at a loss). Now if I then record a video telling people how I made 35 billion in 10 seconds my video would still be technically true, but it would be such a clickbait and far fetched truth.
      I didn't criticize the video or anything, I just said that in reality he didn't get 55 billion in 5 hours. Because of his prior experience and 5 billion starting capital he was able to make 55 billion in 5 hours. Thats all
