    I'm feeling uncertain and would love to discuss my situation. I've been holding onto $250,000, waiting for rate hikes to end, but now I'm questioning my strategy. With rates potentially continuing to climb and stocks declining, I'm unsure about what to do next.

      There are tools that allow investors to invest in companies before they hit the stock market, multiplying those potential gains that otherwise wouldn’t be available after the initial public offering. That’s what I am up to, steer clear from the equities and bond market, my humble opinion.

    The only American who won't acknowledge this Administration's failed economic policies is Joe Biden. "Shrink-flation' is the least of our worries compared to rising rents and stagnant wages, but it is an undeniable indicator of how bad our inflation has gotten. I have $200k that i like to invest in a non-retirement account, any advice on that?

    • @Erinmills98
      @Erinmills98 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      2024 has shown us just how deeply flawed our economic situation is. Shrinkflation is just one symptom of a much larger issue, with rising rents, stagnant wages, and an economy that seems to be running on fumes. With $200k, you’re in a position to make some smart moves, but in this climate, it’s crucial to be cautious. Diversifying into sectors that are more resilient during inflationary periods, like commodities, energy, or even some international markets, might be wise. Also, consider getting professional advice to navigate these turbulent waters

    • @simonbad

      At this point, I’m surprised Joe Biden even acknowledges his morning cup of coffee, let alone the economy. But hey, $200k sounds like a solid "I'm done worrying" fund. Maybe throw it all into avocado futures-they’re probably the next big thing with this inflation!

      the 2% target is generally accepted by central banks around the world. It is seen as the best way to maintain price stability and avoid a downward deflation spiral.
      The ecb names this on their website:
      Providing a sufficient margin [to deflation territory] to allow for:
      (1) a smoother adjustment of macroeconomic imbalances across euro area countries, avoiding inflation in individual countries persistently falling into negative territory;
      (2) downward wage rigidities, which risk raising unemployment excessively; and
      (3) a positive measurement bias in the price index, which could imply that the true level of inflation is lower than the measured level.

    • @masterchinese28
      @masterchinese28 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Felix-op1rw Yep! The 2% target has been credited to Don Brash, the former governor of the Reserve Bank of New Zealand. (Quartz has a good article on it). Since his TV interview in 1988, many other top economists have latched onto the 2% target for the reasons that you mentioned. It's not magical, but it makes things predictable and steady. Using the "rule of 72," a 2% inflation rate would mean that a currency would lose half of its value over 36 years, where a 6% inflation rate would mean it would halve in just 12 years.

    Didnt Trump ask Jamie Dimon to be his Treasury secretary ? Saying these things will help drive the markets down, thus helping Dimons buddy Trump.
