Very educational and thorough conversation. Enjoyed a lot. For some reason, a tear dropped from my eye when I was looking at Jay Maisel's photograph. I don't know why but the photograph itself and your conversation with him made me sad. And I'm glad that I felt that way :))
In my very personal opinion, schools should teach about great photographers like Sebastiao Salgado or Henry Cartier Bresson. We all had learnt Beethoven or Mozart or Van Gogh when we were young but we're not musicians. Music of course has had so much more influences than photography in the entire human history but photography is much closer to everyone today.
Most people are neither artists nor musicians but most of us have heard of Beethoven or Mozart at least. We don't know well about them but we at least know they are one of the greatest composers of all time.
I hope young students get to learn some great photographers at school in the future so they would at least know some of the greatest photographers of all time :)

Thank you for your comments. It's a wonderful thing the way photographs effect us. And I wholeheartedly agree that schools should include photographers in their curriculum but we seem to have enough issues with banning certain books. That said, look at photos, learn from them, be moved by them and share them.

What can I say? Arthur is one of the best and an inspiration. Waiting for the next episode of The Crit House, is like waiting in anticipation for the next episode of Star Trek, when it was a tv show.
