Almost 4 years on and for some reason I still think about this stream.

As with Off-Peak, the music and atmosphere in this game was absolutely phenomenal. It's always good to see vinny play through these great little indie titles, especially since it gives more attention to the developer, who really deserves it
Not really Gameplay wise it is a really bad game. And it costs 10 Bucks for 1 hour of gameplay.
It's just Cosmo D solo this time but both are definitely worth checking out!

Nadia Boulanger is one hell of an obscure reference, jesus. She was a composer and teacher who taught some of the leading figures in classical music of the 20th century (Copland, Barenboim, Glass, Piazzolla, the list goes on)
My theory: DJ Bogart was Norwood the whole time, and Norwood, in his egocentric fit, started prolonging his own life through unknown means so that he could adopt this new persona.
The man at the end, one of Norwood’s most obsessive fans (and the dying man who chose to come to the hotel), arrives as you plug in Muriel’s music (possible Norwood’s daughter?) and embraces you (who is dressed up as Norwood).
Now, as for the rest of the story, Norwood was a successful musician who went on a downward spiral when he stopped playing and started gathering other artists to produce their tracks. His frustration with them led him to become an abusive and terrible person, one that he himself didn’t even like. The people who stare at you before you enter the Suite are all of Norwood’s victims (including his own daughter, the father of the Concierge Twins, etc etc etc). The hotel became a kind of museum to his life after his death, but most of the people there know his dark history and hate him for it. The whole time you’re running around doing errands you’re seeing various visual metaphors for both his misdeeds and his talent.
(I know I’m very late but) I just wanna add; Apparently some musicians have played this game and speculated that it’s a metaphor for the horrors of the music industry. Bogart himself being a robot is a metaphor for how the industry is like a feelingless machine that only cares about results, not the feelings of its members. Just as Norwood, aka Bogart, abused his fans and students. It’s questionable whether Norwood was _always_ Bogart, but the end result is more or less the same. The only difference in potential meaning, if Norwood was _actually_ Norwood for some time, is that the music industry eventually turns even the musicians themselves into machines, ruining their lives with contracts and drugs. The ending is the most ambiguous part - but some have theorized it represents a fresh start. You’re disguised as Norwood in the final scene, and the old man thinks you’re Norwood himself. Despite being abused, the old man loved Norwood regardless, possibly knowing he became Bogart but refusing to let go of a bygone era. When you play Muriel’s disc to Bogart and effectively kill him, you’re striking back at the heartless music industry and showing that there’s still humanity in the world of music, which signifies the _real_ Norwood’s return, even if just in spirit.
This game's sound design is on another plane of being.

This and Off Peak strongly remind me of those places you go to every so often in yer dreams over the years. For example, I've dreamt of a house, a mansion really, several times over about 15 years.
Also, the places in these games are places I'd actually want to check out.
wonderguardstalker now thinking about it, I agree I've had the same dream about a life changing Arcade and little by little Everytime I have the dream it further adds to the story. Sadly like most dreams it's vivid when I wake up, but 90% forgotten later in the day. At this point I hope I have it again only if it's just remind me what happened so far so I can wake up and write it down.
Yeah I love those extremely vivid places where you go to a different world. These games are pretty cool that way.
It’s the soundtrack in Cosmo D games that really grabs me! It’s too good, almost ethereal
I think the bowling pins were there as an indication for how the the piano song should sound for those who can't read sheet music.
Any time he mentions any cousin, I always think of club cousin and this game. This time was when he was talking about his little cousin at a lakehouse while playing barn finders, I finally decided to search this game up.

Let me explain that ending a little more, basically:
Norwood was a robot. He was never a real human being, he was always just a robot. And DJ Bogart is Norwood, they're the same robot. And Murial's music was designed to kill DJ Bogart / Norwood, since Norwood is actually a bad person. As you saw in those secret passages, he threw coffee into people's faces, destroyed cameras, basically ruined everyone of his colleague's lives.
The old man used to work with Norwood, and he thinks you actually *are* Norwood, so he wants to give a great big hug, since he never knew about all the terrible things Norwood has done in the past.
The vanishing of Norwood was really just him turning into DJ Bogart. That's also why each of Norwood's costume pieces are just existant, he used them himself. How else could he play the Norwood Etudes, which almost killed everyone else trying to play it, if he was a real person? That would just be impossible.

Don't know if it was the mood I was in but I found this game's atmosphere freaking amazing.

I love Off-Peak, but for some reason Norwood Suite felt really...tedious? Maybe it's because the entire game was essentially one long fetch quest with a bit story weaved in. The sound design and environment is nice, though.

well considering Off-peak was more or less a walking simulator in a (very interesting) subway, I'd say this is a step in the right direction towards being a more traditional game. Like you already said, the two games shine in sound design and environment above all

Okay, so does this game actually have any story, or is it just random "symbolism" for the sake of it? If there was a plot, it was stupid hard to follow.

its personal preference, i bought the game and would buy it again if i could. I loved it, every little aspect of it. It's interesting and gives a big turn to the real world. Its really something to experience when you like to explore.
This was an okay game, it didn't make much of an impression as off-peak did. The music is kinda bland and the hotel with weird guests and weird rooms have been done before. I preferred offpeak more

For some reason everything about this game rubs me the wrong way. The dev seems to have confused atmosphere, puzzles and art design for the discarded annoyances of better games. Mindless fetch quests, a graphic quality that just screams "I didn't give a shit". Shit was done for the sake of being weird with no actual thought behind it.
Also the little "towers" are owned and built by the MTA but the people who built them have no idea what the hell they do. Realistically speaking they are likely going to be used for the future replacement for EZ Pass where they scan your car/license plate for tolls instead of needing an actual EZ Pass...aaand also for homeland security purposes of being able to track people.
Oh great, another shitty pretentious hipster game. Here we go again.
