Thank you so much for your post. My car sat about a month. I had started it every once in a while but went to start it yesterday and it sounded horrible… called AAA, the guy did not know where to hook it up. He decided to just hook it up on anything ..got it on the truck and it rolled off the truck into my fence. Needless to say I was upset. I told him to go away . He broke the plate rod ( dont know what its called ) that holds the panels to protect gas tank and brake lines. I decided to look up why my car wasn’t running and came across your video. I put about 10 capfuls of synthetic oil and it cranked and started on the second time so you totally helped me. I drove my car to my mechanic, it got inspected that day and I filed a claim against the tow Company because he caused damage to my car . the mechanic told me what the the damage under my car was from his towing Attempt.
Yes. I think I searched 2015 fiat pop won’t start .. this was my exact situation .it sat a bit.. Mine is 2015 500 pop but sat a bit and made a god-awful noise when trying to start . I was so frustrated with the idiot who did not know how to tow my car, but I was out to try to make my car start. The crank sounded better after I tried it even before the oil, but would not start .. after two cranks of adding about 10 capfuls of oil, my car started so I would’ve never known this if you had not posted this so thank you so much. It totally worked and help me. I appreciate you.!!!
My Abarth sat for a month and now it won’t start. That actually saved me this morning when thieves tried to steal it. However, my plan is that when I get it running again, I will pull the starter relay every time I park it. Don’t worry about those sticky lifters. Just get them cleaned up when you can
I'm curious where the oil is draining away from in the brick. It'd be really useful to know this to see if it's something that can be improved. It's one thing to lose oil in the brick over a long period of time but I feel like I lose a little only on hot days whilst it's parked when I'm at work. It starts and runs but initially pops and bangs like a racecar, my assumption is this is due to inadequate oil in the brick to open valves at the right time and for the correct amount and duration until oil pressure builds back up in the brick. Usually just a minute or so. I've seen loads of videos about building oil volume back up in the brick and plenty about stripping and cleaning the brick and the valve lifter components but no indication of where the loss is from.
Just had this happen to my daughter 2012 FIAT 500 Pop. Tried the "starting" method with the pedal pressed in and after popping the bleeder ball. Didn't work to the point of the starter getting hot and starting to smell a little. Used a nice little dental syringe like you get for flushing extracted teeth. Filled it 1/2 way with oil and then sucked air and pushed in oil..over and over and over..took about an hour and I was able to get it to start.
Oh man I hope you didn’t blow the starter. It’s really not good to crank them till they get very hot. Usually it’s 30 seconds on one minute off for three cycles. you want to take five minutes off to let it cool down after that.
@@hordebutcher2651 I didn’t run the starter more than about 15-20s at a time with about 1 min between attempts. After 2-3 I waited 5-10m and tried again. Ended up using a dental syringe to actually suck air and push oil into the brick though that bleed ball valve. Worked like a charm and had the car running in about an hour.
@@rwhipple73 Nice, I'm glad you were able to get it to work. It can be very difficult to reprime the brick after it drains, as I am finding out myself. In my situation, I was able to get it running by holding down the pedal and turning the key, and keeping the battery on a charger. I didn't try to manipulate the bleeder, because I was worried about messing it up.
I have the same issue. 124spider 2017 sat I garage for two months. I read up o TH-cam on start/stop method many times interval but no avail. I will try your method this weekend . I read on fiat forums someone pushed to hard on the bearing bleeder valve and he push the small bearing inside the housing causing a mess of trouble. How soft / hard did you bush it on your vid, to get it to start. Thanks
The best way to do this is get you an oiler can from Autozone and fill up the can. Next, remove the oil fill tube so you have access to the ball valve that's at the top of the brick. Take the hose from the oiler can and place it directly on that ball valve and pump the brick full of oil. It takes about 4 cans. Car should start on the second try.
My fiat 500 1.4l 2012 start to have the same problem. I can get it start by bleeding air. But, if I switch the engine off it won’t start again. Could it be a bad oil pump?
Nice video man, I completely understand the Texas heat as I’m in Houston, lol as far as the prime did you compress the little bleeder screw down to let oil in the multi air brick to get it started? Thanks!
Thanks! I appreciate your comment and feedback! That's amazing that you viewed the video and got something out of it. I kinda laid off of making them but I think that as the weather improves I'll get back into it.

@alexbellesia9676 I actually didn't push on it. I had the screwdriver and I thought about it, but it seemed like it didn't want to move and I didn't want to cause any problems.

The best success I've had so far is holding the pedal all the way to the ground and cranking the car.

I have no idea. It's very strange because I just had it happen again after it sat for a week! However, when it is running, it's running awesome.
How much oil you put?
@@danjortuxtla7809 According to the service records, it's right at 4 quarts
Ps.. I actually didn’t watch the rest of your video after my car started. I just watched right now and funny but I’m a Flight attendant ha ha ha.
