I'm hardly a mechanic but I've watched a lot of TH-cam videos on this subject. I recently bought a Fiat 124 spider I plan on storing for a month or two and I anticipate this problem. It seems that some of the Fiat MultiAir motors drain the oil from the intake valve solenoids in about a month or two of not running. If that would happen you would take a screwdriver and press down on the ball valve like he did and that would allow the oil back into the solenoids which would actuate the intake valves. and the motor would start. Usually it takes a couple of start cycles to get running, but in his case it looks like it started right away. Hopefully I didn't confuse anybody with my rambling.

literally just had to use a small syringe to push oil in and suck oil out of that small ball valve to get my daughter's car to start. Second time we've had to do this in about a year. Both times the car sat for around a month without being started. The oil drains out of the multiair valvetrain solenoids after sitting unstarted. You can do the same thing by holding the accelerator down, crank the car for 10 secs. let it sit for 20 secs. then crank again for 10 sit for 20.....do that 5-10 times and then try to start it normally. The oil pump should be able to pump oil up and fill the valvetrain and will allow it to start.

Nice video! Issue is mine makes this noise and doesn't start 5/10 times. Usually when it makes that noise, i try it again and starts right up. I may try fully synthetic oil or something no idea. New starter helped a bit but still doing it
I use fully synthetic oil. I had this trouble when the oil needed to be changed and it had sat for awhile without being cranked. Hasn’t done it again. I hope you figure yours out. Thanks for watching

Happened again to me - Sat for 4 weeks - It worked AGAIN ;) Need someone to crank while you push the oil plunger hard. It'll struggle but it will start after a while. THANK AGAIN!
when it does start, oil will spray out the oil filler hole so put the oil cap back on quickly.....

Actually it was a spare key I had cut. It worked before but for some WEIRD reason, it would not start the car, the key would turn like it was okay but the starter would not engage. switched back to my usual key and all was well. No idea how the key is limited..... Don't understand that part at all.

I’m having the same issue with my sisters 2012 Fiat 500. It’s been sitting for a while and it sounds exactly like yours when I tried to start it up few days ago. I can’t wait until the morning to give this a try and let you all know if it was the same issue.

Just had a 500 towed into the shop. Crank no start. Had been sitting for a month and customer replaced battery. Battery charger on car for an hour then hold gas pedal to the floor tried tried then 3rd time fired right up.
Way to go "The Man" youtube certified..lol!

We are not sure exactly what it’s called but watch video closely and get you a long screw driver and a flash light. Look down in there and you will see it but you have to push hard. I had to have my husband do it cause I couldn’t push it hard enough to make it click

Pretty obvious that the vehicle cranks. Based on your comment, I’d recommend that you have a mechanic do the work on your car
