The speed mirage calculation doesn't take into account how fast the reverse flash has to move so you can't see him flashing from side to side. He also has to stand in place to make it a "frame"
Your negative speed force theory would also explain why eobard thawne lost his speed after killing Nora Allen. Once Barry went back to the future there was no one with the positive speed force in that time

This actually does make a lot of sense, especially as thawne was clearly matching season 4 Barry in crisis on earth x despite Barry getting way faster in even early season 4
But thawne still mildly had his speed. My theory is the negative speedforce and the speedforce are seperate but they become faster when both exist. After thawne killed his mother. He still could use the speedforce but not alot
DidJewNaziMe no, do you realize before Barry was struck by lighning there was no Reverse flash. When Barry got struck by lighning, there was a Normal speed force in that time, therefore he got his speed back
Something that also isn't taken into account: Reverse Flash was slower in Season 1 because he was constantly losing his power. It's safe to say this probably slowed him down a lot.
When the Reverse-Flash travelled back in time to kill younger Barry and instead killed his mum, he lost his full connection to the speed force, if Nora hadn't died Barry would have became the Flash in the year 2020 through the Particle Accelerator, because he killed Nora Barry never became the Flash, so it cut off his connection because he never would become Reverse-Flash. So he killed Harrison Wells, took his place then built the Particle Accelerator 6 years early, so Barry would become the Flash, he could become Reverse-Flash and go back to his time. That is why he was faster during 'Nora's Death Scene', slower than said scene in season 1, faster in season 2 and the paradox version was also faster.

I what I think when Harrison well's reverse flash was saying that he and Barry "were not strong enough to defeat the other" he was meaning that he was as strong as the flash in the future, which flash in the future should be way faster than he is now, but when reverse flash time traveled he made himself way slower since he messed up the timeline.

I know you are talking about the negative speed force which means his powers are directly powered by Barry, but in legends of tomorrow s2 reverse flash still has his speed even though the flash is not present in most of the timelines they travel to. also another speedster, black flash, was made by the speed force not the negative and he has red lightning like rf.
Caleb Hernandez Red lightning means the speedster is slow compared to Barry who created the speed force. All speedsters besides Thawne and his descendants draw from the speed force. The negative speed force literally vacuums energy from the speed force meaning Eobard goes the same exact speed as Barry at all times.
Though I don't necessarily understand how Eobard shows he is faster than the Flash or slower by the lightning, he is always the same speed as Barry. Hope this info was helpful.
hey CB vs W, the reverse flash that was trapped in the past, also the one that took Harrison Wells identity, was actually faster than Barry because of the Tachyion Enhancers. Not only that, he did know Barry's identity, so he pretty much stalked Barry throughout his middle, teen and adult years, so he knows Barry just too well. Considering the fact that, when Eobard(the one that was trapped in the past) had planned all of this, you can show that THAT reverse flash was the one that was faster. The Tachyion enhancers even powered up his negative speed force in a way that the Nega speed force doesn't have to siphon off the Positive speed force for short periods of time.
the reason Reverse Flash''s speed is so inconsistent and why his younger self is faster is because Reverse flash is clearly losing his power in season 1 and it only comes back to him at random times and in short bursts. and every time he gets that short burst of power, it is in different amounts each times. that's why it could range from 112 mph to mach 2 because the amount of power that returns to him in those moments it self is inconsistent.
Finally, someone created a speed calculation video for the Reverse. I used to watch season 1 just because of the reverse and he is the reason why I even love to watch legends. Reverse Flash is my favorite superhero villain ever.
The way I always thought of it is that Reverse Flash has the negative speedforce which mirrors the speedforce but can draw from the positive speedforce when its exposed like running, this would explain Barry getting close the thawne then suddenly he burst in speed launching him much farther away from Barry, like it draws on Barry's kinetic energy adding to his own. Might be wrong but I find it interesting.

Btw, the part about Barry "vibrating at the natural frequency of air" might not be entirely accurate, it's not entirely nonsensical either. I think the show was trying to make reference to de Broglie's matter waves, where all matter is can be described as waves.
Can you please do a flash timeline? A timeline including everything like 2024 RF going back in time to find the flashes time, then traveling back to kill young Barry, then kill Nora. That would be great, thanks.

Ok actual science aside, the first time Barry time traveled he was going 900 or so mph. So with all the speedforce shenanigans in place, 900 mph is enough for a speedster to travel through time.
are you saying that every speedster that can travel through time can run over mach 200? because barry can only run ata mach 13.2 and he can travel through time

MIND BLOWN. The negative speed force wont allow him to run faster than barry because barry generates the power the negative speed force converts into energy. So barry converts kinetic energy into the speed force and as it goes through him it produces his speed and when thawne runs he takes speed force energy and converts it into kinetic energy.

The BaTmAn I think savitar is a little hard. The reason he seemed godly fast before he got let out of the speedforce was Because he was basically energy and now that he's out and he has a physical form he might be slower.
He is slower now that he is out of the speed force, Idk if you noticed but in the recent episode of the flash When Barry fought him when he got out of the speed force he was a lot slower as he could not go in and out of the speed force. Barry almost matched his speed but savitar is still faster than Barry. He is also more experienced as he is from the future and has fought the future version of the flash. This could help him fight the flash and understand how he fights, or his fight style.
Savitar was teleporting in and out the speed force that is why he seemed so fast. In the latest episode, Barry easily kept up with Savitar. Reverse flash is also way faster than Barry. Reverse flash in season 1 wasn't connected to the speed force like he used to be. He even states this multiple times that he can't connect to the speed force. He is so fast that the tachyon device only recharges him. It doesn't speed him up. Reverse flash is faster than the device. If you look online at different places, you will find people have explained that he is way faster than even current Barry. He even states in an episode that there are other speedsters, but him and future Barry are the fastest. Future Barry also defeats Savitar and Reverse Flash is equal to him. This means a fully powered Reverse Flash can beat Savitar. He has just been weakened from all these time problems.
The BaTmAn RF > Savitar > Zoom > Rival > Barry > Wally > Jesse In my opinion.

3:47 Actually no, if the lightning was going slower then the gap between the speedster and the lightning would be getting bigger and bigger as the speedster would be covering more distance in the same amount of time. Since the lightning is always the same distance behind the speedster that's not the case, they must be travelling at the same speed. As for the speedster being constantly hit by the lightning, that's not happening because the lightning starts travelling only after the speedster starts running, so basically the speedster has like a head start.
I think Eobard is just slow in season 1 because he was weakened after the time jump. Which would explain how Thawne is faster than Barry in other seasons because that Thawne hadn't gotten his powers weaken. Even non-weakened Thawne could stand up to future Barry.

This is very inconsistent. But, then again, Reverse-Flash really has no clear measurable feats in Flash season 1. But one thing we do know is he was periodically juicing himself up with tachyons using a tachyon amplifier.

It's this simple. Reverse Flash is connected to the Flash, so Eobard can run as fast as the Flash. But he seems to be faster because he uses tachyons. This explains loss of his speed at season 1. Killing Barrys mother erased the Flash from existance, but it didn't erase Barry Allen. Therefor, Eobard is not dead, but he lost his speed

The reverse flash has the negative speed force which uses Barries speed force as a booster so when Eobart ran back in time he got slower because there was not a fast barry that he was used to so they should technically always be at the same speed
we have also seen that speedsters speeds are different due to their emotions, maybe not such a big deal, but it is something, and barry always seem to be frustrated and confused when reverse flash is back. maybe this is it?
what about when they capture the reverse flash in season 1 and he beats himself up. btw that isn't a normal speed mirage because his face becomes more bloodied as he (reverse flash) hits himself

Thawne had Tachyon enhancement, just like Barry did at the end of season 2. So he was so much faster than Barry because of that. But when he came back in season 2 as a younger version, he did not have the tachyon enhancement yet.
But Thawnes "power" over Barry is the fact that he knows so much more about how the speedforce works, not that he's just "faster".

can you calculate the speed of the black flash in the last episode of dc legends of tomorrow season 2
pre Season 1 reverse flash is one of the fastest speedster that we know of. He was "equal" to Barry in the future in terms of speed. So future barry>zoom, future barry> savitar. reverse flash= future barry

Well said but i think he's even faster considering he was constantly outrunning the Black Flash which is in essence Zoom on roid(thanks to "Time Wraiths") and as he can "sense" the speedforce in him makes him the perfect tracker.
Well it’s stated in season 1 that thawne did in fact lose up to at least 65% of his speed and was using the tachyon enhancer to reacharge his remaining speed so the “Mach 1.4” is actually closer to Mach 4 without the enhancer

The frequency of air bit is a thing. Frequency is referring to the frequency of the vibrating molecules. How often/fast/frequent is the air moving=frequency of air.

Here are my calculations: He and Flash ran around the stadium. Flash's speed by that time could dodge a pistol bullet .It took them 8.5 seconds to run around the stadium. The footballs stadium perimeter was somewhere round 541 and 542 yards. So Eobard would be Mach 213.

The reason why the reverse flash was slow in season 1 was because whenever he time traveled to the past to kill barry the speed force was not in his body any more but it slowly came back threw season 1 the chair was also charging him but it wasn't enough for him to travel back to the future so that's why he wanted the sphere thing at the end of season 1 so he is faster than Barry but didn't have that much of the speed force left

Reverse Flash hasn't been able to outrun Black Flash per say, he's managed to hide and runs before Black Flash tracks his speedforce signature down to any particular location. If Reverse Flash could outrun Black Flash he would have bolted the instant Merlyn and Dahrk opened the bank vault door for him and jumped through time.
No, he knew that it was to late and that black flash was there, and he made a promise to merlyn and dahrk that he would let them all be equals. Then they beat black flash. But black flash is still chasing RF and RF is still getting away.

Jurassic Force reverse flash is the fastest almost as fast as Barry (at his best) with an exception of savitar. Also Black Flash is easily able to keep up w him.

I don't know how this would factor into your calculations however I would like to note that your frames per second reference only talks about within a few feet or yards of each other however there needs to be a little in-depth when ebarb is in the wheelchair at the same time reverse flash is in the chamber he says he creates a speed Mirage they were at least fifty yards apart so he was able to create a convincing speed Mirage from that far away how fast would you have had to have gone to do that

I love your commentary, incite, and application of real life equations. One minor critique, I don’t think we can make confirmation assumptions based on minor details that are not Easter eggs but merely how that scene was made and can be a result of a mistake, no intent at all, or that’s just how the person directing that cgi scene made it. Example, I don’t think they made reverse flashes speed in the stadium based off a mathematical equation but simply how much faster they wanted him to look.
The speed force has been shown to be both good and bad as they even allowed a time wraith to go after Barry. In the show I think and hope there is just one speed force and Eobards red lightning is based on the negative side of the same speed force.
Season 2 Kaitlyn said Zoom and Eobard were running at the same amount of speed faster than Barry.

The CW speed is so messed up. So Zoom is faster than both the Reverse and the Flash but in Season 2, Cisco asks Zoom if his time remnant was a speed mirage and he says "No. Even I'm not that fast." I really just think we all need to stop trying to analyze it. The CW doesn't really either

In legends of tomorrow even when eobard was hit with a speedster gun, A.T.O.M shot a beam from his suit and eobard dodged it. I think this gives us a pretty good idea of his speed

In the show they show the speedsters running slower for cinematic effect as it would make no sense it you couldn't even see them on your screen because they're running so fast 💨, so basing their speed off of what you can see them do as opposed to what you hear the characters saying, that's why your findings may contradict themselves
If he's moving at the natural frequency of air, so will the bomb on him. How did it hit the wall but not Barry? Remember the time he phased an airplane through the building? The exact phenomenon must have happened with the bomb too!

Oh and the time wraiths from the speed force turned zoom into the black flash with red lightning indicating IMO that it's the same speed force.
Question, if a speedster only went slightly above the speed it takes to trick the human eye than it would be a blur right? So wouldn't they have to go at several times the speed the human eye can capture images so the speed mirage doesn't look blurry?

I think it's either zooms or the reverse flash's power actually isn't running at super speeds but slowing down time so it seems like he is running really fast
If you watch the scene where flash was trying to catch the reverse flash in the city you will see the reverse flash zigzagging

Remember that Eobard would use the tachyon device to make himself faster. And Caitlin said that he and Zoom's legs spend less time on the ground propelling them forward faster. She said all 3 (no Savitar yet) move at the same speed actually. Their legs just cover more ground quicker.
