  • @eluminatti
    @eluminatti 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    Molly thank you so much for this, its so useful to see them working in a video!
    I just bought a Nespresso inissia machine like one in the video as my previous espresso machine gave up with time, and i am looking for refillable capsules to buy.
    I think I'm gonna buy a Cafilas capsule kit from Aliexpress. What do you guys think?

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I only tested the first generation of cafilas, but the coffee able to put inside was less than others. How did it work for you?

    I found if you cut a tiny regular coffee filter to cover the cap, you get more crema.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I prefer Sealpod because in average is easier to use and produces good coffee, but i might not be unbias because is our own product, that is why we made a video review of all similar products. You can check reviews of the mentioned products in youtube or amazon.com for further reference, or perhaps quora.

      Thank you for your answer and for ALL your reviews. They were very helpful for me. I made my choice and bought my capsule. (To be honest, it's a Mycoffestar. But after some time of usage, I can say that I'm not sure that it was correct choice).

    The color of the foam is too light, probably the grain of the coffee is very coarse and the consistency of the coffee will be light and not persistent. In addition, coffee descent is too fast. But you did a great job. It can mean nothing but I'm Italian.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Data, yes, I used arabica coffee in this video, I know Italian coffee has more robusta in your blend which gives a nice amber dark color. But, thanks for tour comment, next time will choose some italian coffee to check performance 🥰

    Hi Molly thank you so much for your great video. I have been looking for such a good video with a beautiful demonstration for so long. Can you please tell me you grind your coffee on which number fine or grob. I am using since 2 years mycoffee star capsule. I am grinding my own coffee after taking the advise from the expert of the roastery shop where I buy my beans. I never get all the cream you have in the cup. My Nespresso is Citiz. Again thanks for your super video.

      but if you don't live in the US, you can go to their official online stores.
      www.sealpod.com
      www.mycoffeestar.com

    Hi, Molly. Can you tell me if the Sealpod seals are recyclable? The only reason I for not being a good choice, is because of those seals. And the surface where the seals come on.
    What is the best choice of pods regarding this issue? and of course, still get a very good creamy coffee.
    Thanks!

    • @alylyshua74937
      @alylyshua74937 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Filipa Gonçalve, They most likely are. They are made of aluminium, and that goes into the recycling bin without issues, so the seals can go... I would try aluminium tape to seal the capsules too

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      yes, you can recycle the aluminum. Normally I dont recommend using stainless steel lids, because if not use properly, it damages your machine.
      back 2 years ago nespresso.was also thinking to launch their own brand of reusable capsules, but they discard the option of S.steel lids.

  • @yevhenbryukhov
    @yevhenbryukhov 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    The issue with aluminum contacting any food/drinks, especially acidic as specialty coffee may be, is that you will ingest "some" portion of it inevitably. 20mg of aluminium is a max daily dosage.
    From that point, a fully stainless steel pod is better unless it impacts taste and/or extraction (e.g. sour or weak) or you aren't ready to sacrifice a bit of crema.
    Crema is not a big deal if you make milk-coffee drinks, especially using milk frother.
    And if you're crazy geeky about extraction and can taste specialty coffee taste descriptors, then you simply don't use pods at all. 😉 Either you'd go for a porta filter espresso machine or just good ol' filter coffee (V60, chemex, aeropress, jesve, french press, etc).

    Perdón, pero para que comprar cafetera con el sistema de cápsulas si después te tomas todo el tiempo preparando las cápsulas, para eso compra una cafetera Espresso común que es el mismo trabajo. Solo pregunto, cuál sería el beneficio?, solo el ahorro de dinero? O variar el gustó de café?...

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hola,
      Entiendo.que claro que es un poco contradictorio comprar una cafetera de cápsulas para luego cargar tus propias capsulas al final 🤣.
      En mi caso, fue porque gastaba mucho tiempo para hacer un café bueno, y cuando encontré nespresso, sentí como que encontré un tesoro. Pero como tomo café a full, terminé gastando como más de.200 usd cada mes, y me deprimia la cantidad de basura que hacia, y para el colmo tenía ganas de probar de nuevo otros cafés aparte de nespresso. Por eso y para eso están las cápsulas recargables, para tener más opciones cuando se te antoja otros cafés, o gastar menos, y lo más importante, es no sentirse culpable por la basura que al final contribuye al daño de nuestro planeta.

      @@belamo11y Como experiencia te comento que tengo una máquina de hacer cafe espresso marca Oster con esta compras el café que quieras y el precio siempre saldrá menos cuando el café es a granel, pero también tengo una máquina marca Nespresso modelo Insignia color negro la conseguí con los puntos de la tarjeta o sea no me salió nada hice la primera compra en una boutique de Nespresso la oferta de 100 cápsulas venía con un recipiente contenedor de acrílico para las cápsulas y no me arrepiento son de muy buen sabor y textura agradable, lastima el costo de cada cápsulas x q trae cada una unos 5 gramos nada más, aunque acá en Argentina se puede mandar a reciclar. Me la llevo de vacaciones y cada tanto compro otras marcas para probar distintos sabores de café. No me arrepiento de tenerla, por qué las cápsula siguen saliendo más barato que tomar un café muy bueno en algún negocio especializado en el tema, pero como te comenté me salió gratis la máquina. Debería comprar y probar la manera que comentas así que a conseguir esa cápsulas recargable!!!.

    I like your video, did you try any other new one? Like WayCap? I bought that, did not love it, a new one is coming out but was wondering which one you use on daily basis, I also like a good body and a good thick crema :)

      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Altiris,
      thanks for liking the review !
      I haven't had the opportunity to check waycap yet, but I heard that the result is similar to mycoffeestar..
      why did you not love it?
      mostly I use Sealpod (of course, i designed it, LOL) i think is easier to use, and with the freshcovers, you can prefill and store, instead of filling one capsule before brewing each time.
      besides that, i think mr. barista is also a good performer, it's just a little bit tricky to close the lid sometimes.

    • @altiris
      @altiris 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Molly, thanks for taking the time to reply! I didn't know that you designed the SealPod, nice to know I will look into them ;) and congrats for having a good idea, I am desperate to find a good alternative to the one time use capsules. I originally backed the first WayCap (now they just released a new one but we original backers didn't even get discount to get it, absurd) and it never really worked. I get watery coffee, really not drinkable! been changing pressure, coffee type, I even tried it on newer machines (Pixie new from box) and still little or no crema. So I was disappointed, I can make a video for you to see if you're interested. Thanks for all the nice tips, it gives me hope I will eventually find the right capsule for me ^__^

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      the brand was Pressopod, but then it was off the market, because coffee always got stuck in the lid, and eventually damage the machine. I so other copy products later on with their design.. but I don't like to make comparison for counterfeit products.

      steve mar You can order it on eBay.. but i didn't find it by that name. Just search for "Nespresso Stainless" and look for the one with that special cover. I've ordered mine and waiting for it right now! ;) I owned 2 sealpods, great product but you have to buy the sticker lids. With PressoPod, all you need is fresh coffee!

    Hi Molly! Thanks for your video!
    I bought a PressPod but couldn't make a good coffee yet, I have a blade grinder but I guesse I'm not using it correctly.
    Do you have some tips for me? How can I use them correctly? Any video suggestion.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi Douglas,
      I hope below tips can help you:
      1. "descaling" your coffee machine with proper descaling solution will help cleaning the pipes so the water can pump thru. Remember to descale every 300 cups to keep your machine in best condition.
      2. Use a burr grinder, because blade grinder just doesn't work. You can ask a nearby coffee store to grind your coffee to "home use espresso grind" or "Moka pot grind"
      3. Another tip that i can give you is that when using pressopod, remember not to press your coffee to hard trying to extract better coffee, because the pressure goes back to the machine instead of going thru the capsule, and in the long run, the machine's pipe can't handle it, breaking the machine.
      If still above doesn't help you to get a good coffee, I suggest you return it to buyer. Personally i think the design of the pressopod's lid is not very very good, causing many claims.

    Hi Molly . great video! The 3 and 4 pod make best foam, 3 pod easier to use , the 4 pod which material is made the lid ( cover) when i saw the video i can´t figure out. For different size of grind which one is better ( 3 or 4 pod) ? which size of grind you think is better to make better foam? Where I can find in Brazil? Your are so kind , Cherrs From Brazil!! The better coffee in the world lol!!

    • @alylyshua74937
      @alylyshua74937 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Renato sky I would use the 3 simply for ease of use. For the grind size, you should use a finer grind. Just ask your local coffee shop for an espresso machine grind, and it should be good. It will take some experimentation with tampering and the type of coffee and other stuff.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi both, I think the 3rd one was later took off the market due to complains, but later on was launch with another brand. if you use this kind of product you have to make sure you dont press your coffee too hard, otherwise it.damages the machine
      the 4th lid is made from silicone material, I also think it is a good product, it's called mr.barista, but you haveto check their review, because for some ppl it doesn't work very well (I dont know why, but it works nicely for me)

    great video ... but that machine noise!!

    • @John-nr6gg
      @John-nr6gg 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That machine noise is unavoidable. Considering that the machine's water pump has to rapidly hammer 19 bar (276 psi) pressure-pulses of hot water into the coffee grounds, to extract all the coffee goodness (which is what espresso coffee is all about), the compact Nespresso machines do an amazingly good job. That noise is music to my ears, knowing how well it's working.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      oh, because it depends on the grind. If the grind is too fine, is better not to tamp or press the coffee too harsh, otherwise you won't be able to get coffee (or get it drop by drop), and the pressure will built inside the machine instead of being able to release, and then very possibly will ruin the machine.

    • @李华君-p7l

      Molly Liu yeah,that's right, I'm new to nespresso. I'm wondering if I use the ground coffee like illy, the result will be Good? Because I don't have a grinder

  • @franksweeney2176
    @franksweeney2176 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    The only reason I can see for weighing the full capsules, is to compare the amount of ground coffee they hold. So, you should put the EMPTY pod on the scale, then "tare" it to zero, and then fill it, That would show the weight (or amount of coffee) the pod uses. Isn't that the reason for this time-wasting exercise? ..............And you should take you phone off the hook. Um Goy.

    i'm sorry, but i meant mycoffeestar, instead of mr barista.

      the link you sent is a similar to mycoffeestar, but is not. i dont recommend that model becoz the coffee grind gets stuck in the lid. It will be better to get the original mycoffeestar, works better than the copies. as for the ripple, it is just design, has nothing to do with the machine chambers.

    When you say fresh roast does that mean u bought it pre grinder?
    The best way to do this is buy freshly roasted. There should be a roast date. Then use a high quality grinder at home per pull. This is what nespresso does. They use fresh roast and then a bad ass grinder... someone told me the most important part is the grinder and then the bean... so yeah

    Great video, appreciated the detail and effort. Where is the best place to buy these pods?

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think most of them are available in amazon.com
      but if you don't live in the US, you can go to their official online stores.
      www.sealpod.com
      www.mycoffeestar.com
      mister barista don't have official site.

      Molly Liu thanks for replying and your advice. I'm considering one of these: m.ebay.com.au/itm/302036178722 I prefer recyclable lids. My machine is the Breville CitiZ BEC650S.

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure, no problem.
      If you live in Australia, you can get SealPod in Cremajoe.
      Just for your reference, the performance of your ebay option, is similar to mycoffeestar

    • @Frank-Einstein-Madman
      @Frank-Einstein-Madman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, I might go for the eBay option as the other one is over 3 times the price. Do you prefer the plastic or the metal pods?

    • @belamo11y
      @belamo11y  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      www.cremajoe.com.au/collections/all
      SealPod starter pack (1pc) is aud 25
      I prefer the metal pods, because plastic capsules are not to be use over 30 times.
