The first video like this I have watch and didn’t get anxiety over! Used to work with my dad building and some of these videos. I want to crawl through and straighten out what they’re doing wrong lol. This guy is doing amazing.!
Yeah pretty good idea I like it a lot the only thing so far that o would have done differently is staggering for strength. I watched the overview video with the price breakdown first, and you said that staggering would have cost $100 more, specifically on the roof decking part. But that wouldn't be the case with just a slight plan adjustment, you could have staggered for strength, added a really cool feature, and possibly even saved a little bit of money as well.
What novel concepts for home building. I love it. Amazed you did this without help. I am a 77-year old widow in the middle of Kansas and the only things I build are quilts. I loved watching this. As an aside, my hubby and family are from middle TN so I have spent a lot of time in those hills. Beautiful country.
Best to build in the fall & winter & spring in Tennessee for many reasons. Lol. Loved 😍 your unique techniques. My grandfather was a woods man in Wisconsin with 60 heard dairy cows growing corn & hay etc. Then he sold that & grew trees 🌳 on his land for the Goverment. Then in his 70's moved to Tennessee woods & built his own 🏡 from milled 🌳 🌲 on his own land...did alot on his own with his trusty Dogs 🐕 all my life. Bringing up memories here.

You remind me of my Father. He could build anything in wood. He also was a perfectionist.. My folks moved from Germany 🇩🇪 after WW11 to Georgian Bay 🇨🇦. The good thing about this style of build is that one person can do it with a little ingenuity. It is very solid as well and I think will last many decades. Best wishes on making your dream come true. Take care.
@@TheOffGridExperience Thanx your right so very solid its ingenus and you showed how one man could easily do this , i also love you show how long a time table it took u working when u could find time but keeping it rolling along, I know some parts of Tennesee dont get much snow but mostly ice storms, but with that A frame style roof your ready for the heaviest snows, I also have a place where two smaller streams run together there not as big or have as much water flowing as yours, but they do run slowly with water year roud, i guess i could open the water control device on my lake and have a good steady sounding stream flowing over night for the sound effects, my grandfather built his house in west virginia on a bluff about what is called 12 pole creek he is basically on a high bank next to the water above flood lines, but has in the middle of his property a place where the strean narrows n gets shallow where in older days used to be a ford where people would take short cuts thru to another road, but there is a small rapids there in the water and standing outside next to the you can hear that stream year round n its always cooler in the summer time by his house with that Stream/river the sounds are just so relaxing ! we used to life there when we first moved there for several months while looking for a place n i spent every night with my bedroom window open n a screen in place listening to the sounds of the water relaxing me to sleep along with frogs n all creatures of the nights, once u experience that its in your blood forever n you could never be happy in the city again, im still living in the country n always will, i wish i had a larger creek though, lol enjoy my friend going to look n see if part 2 is out yet, thanks again !
@@AmericanPatriot-cw9xe your grandfathers land sounds amazing. Not many places left like that with all the development taking place. Nothing like hearing the sound of a stream roll by day or night whether it's sitting on a porch or going to sleep. Thanks again for watching!
Cool build , just hope you don't ever have to replace a rotten board with it being weaved together glued and screwed ! It should be very easy to keep warm with almost 5" thick solid walls , 👍👍👍👍
I definitely would have made a 10 foot deep porch, & 2 foot over hang on the roof, if not 3 foot, & would have put a wide opening window in, above the sink, & on the wall on the left side of the sink , but over all this is a dope ass build, & I so would have torched everything just as you did, I love that look as well, I love it

In the mid 80s. I bought 10 acres of mixed pine qnd oak in arkanasa. I cut 100 12" to 16" pines off that land.rough built a 20x24 cabin with a full loft.. A bad devorace made me yield that Build . So sad 😞 😔 😟. That cabin still stands . My blood is in them logs and rocks qnd morter . Peace y'all.
I like the build .it also seems pre fabrication parts that makes it even easier That's going to be us in the mancave buddy Rather live like this small and at the end of the year with lots more of money in our pocket and 🏦 bank accounts Instead of living in a modern house or mansion in the city paying all that additional intrest and other expenses with empty pockets and almost to no money on our 🏦 bank accounts Plants and growing a garden with vegetables/ fruits and a small chicken coup will keep us fed throughout the semester... Just on the brink for health and strength recuperation of stopping with smoking... Gonna need that extra strenght and health to tackle the build of such a task in our life *A Future that is bright*

Absolutely a beautiful view and place for a cabin. I'm still watching it yet but I sure do love your cabin and video. 💖

I can't wait to see it either..hahaha. Thanks for watching and for the comment!
Take care.
Cool build , just hope you don't ever have to replace a rotten board with it being weaved together glued and screwed ! It should be very easy to keep warm with almost 5" thick solid walls , 👍👍👍👍
I'm hoping that chinking the logs will prevent that. Thanks for watching!
I would live there, full time, in a heart beat !!
It's not quite liveable yet but it's getting there. Take care!
I definitely would have made a 10 foot deep porch, & 2 foot over hang on the roof, if not 3 foot, & would have put a wide opening window in, above the sink, & on the wall on the left side of the sink , but over all this is a dope ass build, & I so would have torched everything just as you did, I love that look as well, I love it
Great minds think alike!!! I've contemplated building a cabin like this, very ingenious!!
Nice. I'd love to see someone else try this style of build.
Thanks for watching!
Love how you are doing such a maticulous job! Great work, looks fantastic!
Thank you! I'm trying to be meticulous but sometimes it's hard when you are on a roof 20ft up...lol.
What a beautiful place! Reminds me of the Appalachian hills
Thank you!
Amazing job. Perfect view. Incredible camera work. I subbed in under a 1min.
Thanks for subscribing. Looking forward to that view again in about 2 months when the leaves are off the trees. Take care.
Stumbled on you and subscribed! Love your location and your style! It’s crazy, I find a sense of accomplishment watching your accomplishments. I’m a 74 yr old grandma- “Mimi Linda” - thanks for keeping me occupied😊
Thanks for subscribing! I love watching these types of videos myself. I learn a ton from others and feel the same way.
Take care!
Fntastic work. I learned a few tricks watching you build. Thanks for the video!
Thanks for the comment. Glad it was useful. Take care!
In the mid 80s. I bought 10 acres of mixed pine qnd oak in arkanasa.
I cut 100 12" to 16" pines off that land.rough built a 20x24 cabin with a full loft..
A bad devorace made me yield that
Build . So sad 😞 😔 😟.
That cabin still stands .
My blood is in them logs and rocks qnd morter .
Peace y'all.
Sorry to hear. Maybe someday you'll get it back.
Take care

Thanks for the comment! Take care.
outstanding build, thanks for sharing, the way you created the wall timbers with the 8x4's is new to me--how ingenious
Thanks for the comment! Its worked out well. Take care.
I like the build .it also seems pre fabrication parts that makes it even easier
That's going to be us in the mancave buddy
Rather live like this small and at the end of the year with lots more of money in our pocket and 🏦 bank accounts
Instead of living in a modern house or mansion in the city paying all that additional intrest and other expenses with empty pockets and almost to no money on our 🏦 bank accounts
Plants and growing a garden with vegetables/ fruits and a small chicken coup will keep us fed throughout the semester...
Just on the brink for health and strength recuperation of stopping with smoking...
Gonna need that extra strenght and health to tackle the build of such a task in our life
*A Future that is bright*
Thanks for watching and good luck on your build. Take care.
More please. Excellent video.
Thank you. I'm just getting started.
Fantastic work my friend. Patiently waiting to see how you finish up.
Thanks for the comment. Looking forward to finishing it as well. Take care!
You used in it channel woods that's why it's thickests and strongers and easy to build. And you did much hardworking alone so saw beautiful house it is excellence work
Thank you! 👍👍
wonderful rocking chair :)
Thanks. I have a couple more :)
I'm french , i like, good job
👍👍 Thank you for watching! Take care.
Thanks for sharing. I enjoyed every minute of it. Very nice work
Love your design that's the only way to go
Thanks! 👍👍
I absolutely love your cabin and can't wait to see it finished! Awesome job making it!
Thank you!
Beautiful technique, love the burnt wood treatment, no plywood ; all wooden plancs… Man!
Beautiful work my friend. I was a bit weary watching you handle these tools in somewhat precarious positions sometime. You obviously have some experience with the tools but be careful buddy… If you want to enjoy your little paradise in the sun without crotches. 😉
Haha...I get that comment quite a bit about the circular saw. I just take my time and keep a steady hand. If you do that, it's not that dangerous.
Thanks for watching and take care!
