Uncle, I don’t know you, and I’m too far from you, but I watch your videos with such great pleasure! This is incredibly interesting and so educational! Thank you very much for this wonderful time watching your film! Good luck to you in everything and great success in life and business! Best regards from Russia!🤝🤝🤝
That's a solid unique Tongue & groove build 👌...Burning that wood is very much like someone unique taught that to you...& mastercraftsman ship is 👏 amazing too. Few can do it that way.
I’m just learning, but what do you mean by the tongue and groove is working especially because of your location?? Thanks, and take care and have a happy New Year@@TheOffGridExperience
@Mark Cummings My location prevented me from being able to haul in logs or have them delivered so I had to figure out a way to transport smaller loads and this method was the right choice for my situation. Take care!
You should be very proud of your work. The torched siding is awesome and your interior is looking more rustic each day. Wow. Its all looking gorgeous. Thanks so much for sharing. I very much enjoy watching your dream come alive.

Hi, found your channel earlier this week - just wanted to congratulate you because that Cabin your building is amazing! Now subscribed and looking forward to more uploads, many thanks from the UK
I've watched and enjoyed your build videos from the beginning. I am a subscriber but I've never commented on your work. It's kind of overwhelmingly breathtaking! I am in awe every time you produce a video. The cabin is Beautiful and looks like it Belongs exactly where it is. I also love your Tent by the Stream. If it were listed on Air B & B for rent, I would rent it. Well done my Friend!!! Cheers.
Thanks for subscribing and the comment! I may actually AirBnB the tent once I get a small bridge built and trails cleared to the back creek. Are you in middle Tn?
Wow what a wonderful job you are doing to your cabin I just joined your channel I really enjoy watching it can't wait to see more of your awesome videos Rosa
I love this cabin, the simplicity and quality is absolutely perfect. I really do love it. One thing I have seen that made me wonder about is the ends of the walls that stick out will catch rain from time to time, which can’t be helped but because of the use of 3 pieces of wood, will likely allow water to seep in between the joints and into the cabin and facilitate rotting over time, even if it is treated. I thought one way to help this, and really look fantastic too, would be to hammer out copper sheet caps. A bit expensive, I know, but it will prevent water getting in and will suit the cabin perfectly. What do you think? Once again though, I think this is my favourite cabin build series on YT 👍🏻
Thanks for the comment! Regarding end caps, I have put some on a few of the 2x8 logs using 1x6 cedar boards and burning it. It’s worked out well to this point so that’s what I am going to finish it off with before it gets too cold and wet. Copper would be pretty cool but really pricey. Thanks again and take care!
On the inside of the cabin it's a lighter burn mainly for looks. On the exterior, it's a heavier burn that is supposed to preserve the wood longer and protect against the weather and insects. Thanks for watching!!
I have seen the wood burning on other builds for the roof. Is this for durability or does it seal the wood? Maybe both? Either way, what a great project, thank you.
You have balls of steel . Burning that wood on a already built structure . Not to mention , burning it by a chain saw (fuel and oil ). So much could go wrong . But it does look very nice . Careful !.
Haha….believe it or not, it’s really hard to start a fire with a blow torch on smooth wood. Wood that is already “burned” is even harder to start a fire with. The chainsaw appears closer in the video than it actually was. Thanks for watching!
Are you going to put oil on the outside wood or leave it as is? You have done an amazing job on your cabin all on your own. Congratulations. So much hard work. You have wonderful skills. Thanks so much for sharing. 🙋🏻🇨🇦
I live in South Central Kentucky in little town called Burkesville, KY. its about 30 minutes from the TN line about an hour from Crossville, TN. Let me know if you do Air B & B the tent. That would be an awesome stay in the Spring or Fall of the year.
Damn bro that's looking really really good man got a question for you hate to bother you again but what size windows are those I need to get some for my camper and I really like those I appreciate you keep up and go work man Love it I'm still waiting on your video how much wood it is how much it cost blah blah blah you know all the nine yard stuff Cool beans bro let me know thank you much talk soon
Windows are 18" x 36" single pane windows. I got them from Lowes pretty cheap. I'll get to the total cost video soon hopefully. Gotta finish up first. Thanks!!
Sorry if you already got this question, but, how long do you think that gas bottle will last with the burning treatment for the wood? Great project by the way.
Any installation that prevents water and air from getting in is a good one in my book so we'll see. I still have to caulk the trim. Thanks for watching!
It's 7/16 OSB and not designed for subflooring. I used it because it was a cheap way to be able to walk on the floor while building and I knew I was using 2x8's for my finished floor. Thanks for watching!
@@TheOffGridExperience Not really , normal concrete isn't recommended near stoves/chimney, high heat concrete you need made of sand, crushed bricks and high alumina cement to ensure the strength is maintain. Hope you don't mind me telling you, just trying to help.

I like the way you did the outside of cabin and the matching floor boards inside with flame thrower
Thanks
Liked watching you working alone isnt easy and that cabin looks like going last lifetime
Thanks. Working alone is a challenge but it’s worth the sense of accomplishment. I hope it does last that long. Take care!
Your hard work and attention to detail is second to none !! 🙏💚👍🇬🇧.....Simon
Thanks for the comment! This is the fun part of the build. Interior finishes and details.

What does firing the wood do ? 😊

Since every piece of lumber on that cabin looks like it’s been torched, I suspect he’s got a feel of what it can and cannot do by now ..lol
I've been waiting for this. :)
Me too....haha. Working on the interior is going to be a lot better than out it the cold.

a good few random screws sticking out into the mortar joints will help make it more stable but the builds coming on well keep the vids coming
Thanks for confirming that. I had hoped I was on the right track.

What a beautiful work you’ve done…..just perfect….please don’t burn your feet, hehehehe

Love the burnt wood look! Courious if it will smell like a fire for awhile?
Thanks. Smells a little like burnt pine which isn't that bad.
Why is your floor flexing up and down when you walk on it? Is it not screwed down all the way?

Hi , Can I ask you a question , is it fire resistant cement you're using?
Great work btw👌👍
Where do you buy flammable concrete ?
I'm sure all cement is fire resistant. Fire proof is another story.
