      1jz + GTX3582 on 20psi would probably bet high 400s at the wheels. Maybe...I just made that up

      3582 are rated for like 500 or something

    Try a vacuum purge refill kit when filling your coolant system, we use one all the time at work when we've changed radiators, they get rid of all most all the air locks straight away, much better than manually bleeding.

    I'm not sure since you didn't show entire process, but when I refill radiator I've heard it's essential to keep topping it up to brim, otherwise bubbles form inside the radiator... Can't let it fall below brim.... Love your Bmw

  • @likeaboss882
    @likeaboss882 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hey adam! Lisle makes a "spill free" funnel you can get that locks on to the top of the radiator and will bleed it as you fill. They're a friggin godsend. Its about $20 on amazon prime. I used it on my toyota 3f-e when i did a water pump. Very, very handy item

    For Nicole's 240 buy an air purge kit. I have had 6 cars that are extremely picky on being bled and will overheat if you don't get the system pretty much 100% purged. It is a little pricey at around $120 but with all the cars you have worth it, look up UVIEW 550000 and it will be a life saver.

  • @ZelosZelo

    was that water in the radiator? Coolant does cool just a little better, its not there only as an anti-freeze, it pressurizes differently, and that pressure also aids in cooling. And some compositions also are designed to exchange energy faster too. Another thing it does, it helps prevent deposits like minerals, rust etc, which slow the passage of the coolant, also making it just a little hotter as well. I use water just long enough to reach operating temp, and pressurize to check for leaks and to make sure the thermostat opens n fans turn on. After that it gets drained and filled properly. Doing it that way helps to flush out stuff. But you dont want to use 50/50 entirely, there will be some water left over throwing off the ratio, fill it mostly, get it stirred up and test it, use the final jug to adjust the mixture.

    Hey adam, im having the same over heating problem as Nicole, But i have a rb25det. Im using a mishimoto rad, and 2 puller fans. i have a 50/50 base of coolant and water wetter. i have bled the coolant multiple times but nothing has changed. I was thinking about buying a custom front bumper with a bigger opening to allow more air flow. You should give it a try to see if it would help.

    Problem in the head gasket, check if the water is actually boiling or rather the gallerys are blocked.

  • @10Mbowman
    @10Mbowman 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    you need to check the head for condition underneath. its always the top that looks alright but the bottom. need to check for cracks, straightness, no valves damaged, no face damage and etc.

  • @nightkil13r
    @nightkil13r 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Especially in a warmer environment, you should run at least a small amount of radiator fluid mixture, it raises the boiling temps so that you dont get the boil over, once the water gets hot enough(even under pressure or the cooling system) it will boil creating Air pockets that it struggles to flow through, making the engine run even hotter, and basically starts a chain reaction if you dont shut down quickly. Distilled water boils at 212 degrees where as a 50/50 ethylene glycol mixture(typical radiator fluid) boils at around 223 degrees, both of which are even higher when under the pressure of a cooling system.

  • @funkmasterjay
    @funkmasterjay 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    are you using the correct mix if antifreeze / coolant and distilled water? big thumbs up for using distilled water. hope it gets resolved

  • @alexanderbarr
    @alexanderbarr 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Adam you should vacuum fill your cooling system to ensure all the air is out. Letting some cars self bleed doesn't work because the heater matrix can be hard to fill due to the position. Invest in a vacuume bleeder.

    Yo, Adam… there was, in fact, a V4 Engine for Cars (apart from all the V4s built for Motorcycles); it was built by Ford in Cologne, Germany (you‘ve been there, right?!). That Motor was so dependable, it was also put in other cars like, i.e. the Swedish Saab 98.
    Greetings from Germany, Mike.

  • @SlightlyCracked15
    @SlightlyCracked15 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Adam, you have to run coolant in a radiator. You can't run just water! Antifreeze increases the boiling point of the water. When water boils, it loses its cooling properties. Run a proper coolant mixture and you'll be all good brother!

    Nicole wants a puppy but doesn't want the obligations of looking after it.. Good call. I got a puppy last week and he barks all night, cries to get into my bed and cries for food then he pisses all over the floor and i spend my nights cleaning up after him at like 4:00am whenever I have a 13 hour work shift starting at 6:00am.. Seriously, puppies really start loose their cuteness after you get up and step in a puddle of piss beside your bed.

    as I have said millions of times before, using water, distilled or not as coolant is risking your engine even more so if you are down south where it is very hot or obviously up north where it is very cold. there is a reason car dealers in LA sell their cars with coolant instead of water. always use 50/50 mixture using water and ethylene glycol. the boiling point will go up 223°F instead of 212°F, and lowers significantly the risk of vapor forming inside the cooling system on top of that water will rust pretty much any metal it comes into contact with over time. funny too see people spend thousands of dollars to then cheap out on the most basic things. P.S. your sr20det head is toasted, most likely twisted when your engine blew. cams look alright.

    • @alexvillalobos7137

      Bald Vulture distilled water won't rust

    • @BaldVulture87
      @BaldVulture87 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      well no it wont but the boiling point is still 212. I was saying that in case anyone was running tap water I know a lot of people do. its just a friendly advise, 50/50 mix of water and ethylene glycol is what you should be using as coolant if you care about your car, or if you're having overheating issues to the point where the water is boiling like nicole's car in the video.

      LSX StreetCars I'm not sure what tone you're using, but you can't sell used parts for more than 50-70% of new cost. I always open at 40% of "new" when I'm buying used car parts, because you can never know for sure what the condition/history is. People convert to dual notched shims instead of one, that way you won't break rocker arms. We all know that's the weakest part of the SR 😂

    boiling point increases with preassure, if the cap is the problem, it's because it releases the preassure and therefor lowering the boiling point. :)
