Created from the merging of four distinct neighborhoods in 1968, North Myrtle Beach is located in Horry County about 15 miles northeast of the city of Myrtle Beach. The four main neighborhoods of North Myrtle Beach are Cherry Grove, Windy Hill, Ocean Drive and Crescent Beach. The city is 17.7 square miles and is home to over 10,000 residents. North Myrtle Beach has the distinction of being the hometown of TV star Vanna White. It’s also the home of the state dance, The Shag. Shag dancers come from all over the country to shag dance competitions and events at clubs such as Fat Harold’s Beach Club and Duck’s Beach Club. The Shag rose to popularity in the 1940s and 1950s in the Cherry Grove area and is known as “The Swing Dance of the South”.

In the early days of Cherry Grove development (1960's/70's), we called the manmade bodies of water between the houses, the "channels".
So much more pleasant-sounding than canals or creeks. 🥴
Different words, same concept 😁
Us residents still call them channels & channel houses.

Not mosquitos. No-see-ums are tiny little gnats that you're not even aware of until later when you break out in bug bites that itch horribly! For many people, the reaction to these gnat bites is worse than mosquito bites.

Are these prone to flooding?
The area is, yes. Most of the homes themselves do not take on water because they are raised up.
How much is the home
The most recent asking price for this one was $700,000 but it is now under contract.
If my math is mathing homeowner took away abt15K for the year. Thats not a lot
