These are not the best. Just based on new sales. Using this criteria is just lazy. All you need is the biggest development with throw together cookie cutter homes. No regard to quality or location location location. Myrtle beach is growing so fast no matter what crap “they” build someone will buy it.

They sold quickly because of the price. If they go higher, there are other options closer to the beach if you don't require new construction. Also, I don't think these homes are a great option for a buy-to-rent. Just my opinion.

Has many very dirty nasty areas. However if you move just outside the main areas you can find affordable housing etc. Don't come to work here. Pay is crap. Myrtle Beach area itself is very nice. I live in Va Beach,Va. There taxes do not come close to ours here. Yes, we are a tourist town as well. Very few folks that live here are actually from here.

Hey Nick - I'm a nurse practitioner in Kentucky, considering a move to the area within the next year. I owned a home in a community similar to this in Cary, NC called The Park at West Lake. What I liked most about that community is there was a section with smaller custom built homes that all had downstairs masters. It was mostly retirees on my street or young professionals without kids so although the homes were close together it was a very quiet neighborhood. I am looking for something similar in the areas surrounding Myrtle Beach. Longwood Bluffs reminds me of the NC community I lived in however the starting prices are a little more than I'm looking to spend. I am single, no kids so a 2-3 bedroom home is all i would need. Can you recommend some communities with smaller homes that have downstairs masters? I'm not 55 so i'm not eligible for a 55+ community. Also not looking for a huge home. 1100-1500sqft is plenty. Budget would be $350-$450K

Where in the world do these people work? I would love to know the percentage of retirees compared to working families in the areas.

Forget condos - Sell your home up North, come to North Myrtle, ask your Realtor about "Foxfire" find a sweet home the same size as a condo, don't deal with condo boards or HOA dues. Can you actually BUY a home with that $125,000 down payment? In North Myrtle, YES YOU CAN! I know, because I did, and now I can exhale. Very important after 60 - financial security. This is the SMART homeownership option, for moving to Myrtle Beach!

That's The Caravelle, lol. I've stayed there for the past 4 years during the winter. Great place if they kept all of their pools and hot tubs open during the winter.

What's not to love? So the amenities block is supposedly complete but no residents have been allowed access yet to date.

How is the overall crime rate in the city?

I live in The Bays at Prince Creek and I do believe its the best place to live in the Myrtle Beach area. We're gated with Security, two pools and a nice area called The Park with Amenity Center, picnic areas, tennis courts, open field for soccer or baseball and best of all it's not just a bunch of homes built crammed together on a cleared piece of land. We are divided into seven small secluded "Bays" which are laid out along a winding main road called Greenway. It's like living in a park! I know you did a piece on our community but I just thought I'd make a comment! I love your posts!

Home prices aren't terrible, for a very nice beach area, it's the ever-escalating home insurance costs that are making a mess of buying in & near coastal SC/NC right now.

How much taxes on this Fullerton model with an uograded price of $500k? Also are pools allowes to be built in backyards? Thanks Tony

I’ve been wanting to move to this area for some time now, but this community really highlights my biggest concern - why are all of the houses so darn close together? Yes, I know, they want to maximize their profits, but I just don’t want neighbors that close. I’m retired, and I want peace and quiet.

Don’t waste your money the grandstand is being over built they can’t stop clearing forest tearing down old homes. The roads are over crowed medical and dental care are stressed to the max good luck finding a Dr if you don’t have one. The cost of living is higher than inflation. Not enough police and fireman the list goes on but if you like crowds tourist and six hour rounds of golf come on down.
