While I agree that pressure is on Freo and they got seriously outplayed, I don't really get how Cameron was the issue, he had 14 and a goal? I thought guys like Guthrie, Dempsey and Holmes hurt us much more. If anything I thought the takeaway was that Freo doesn't have the talent underneath to deal with injuries (Tabs, Voss, worner, Wagner)

It takes a great coach to change his role and let him roam.
He wasn’t doing that at GWS, played much more like a traditional forward.
It takes balls to bring in a Coleman Medallist and basically tell them too play them like a winger for the good of the team structure.

For Collingwood there's a fair few things thats gone wrong. From having a tough last couple of years (winning a premiership can be tolling) to start a season with the shortest break ever. They swapped their coaches roles around and struggled with any continunity and flow with constant injuries making it worse. Follow that with last season our inside mids were Mitchell, Adams, Degoey. This year its been Nick Daicos and Jack Crisp. Your going to struggle when that's the case. Then you have Collingwoods 5 years in a row leading goalkicker having an Injury fuled year and having to try Injury prone kreuger and a guy who cant run Ash Johnson. There are lots of aspects to look at but it's been a year where anything that could go wrong has for the pies.

A lot of Carlton's best 22 are out injured, probably 12 players now in the best 22 - it's decimated the season. 5 -6 players of the best 10 are out injured. Great sides cover that, to a point. Carlton is not a great side.. Certainly a decent side with their best 22.. All sides have injuries though. Now they're saying Harry McKay is out, so they'll have to put some tall no name VFL guys in as the key forwards. We're playing well past player 30 on the list now. Wasted season.

Essendon were in close games all year, they won more in the first half of the year.
They’ve lost 9 games, 7 of them they had more inside 50s. 5 of those they had more inside 50s and more scoring shots. Essendon lack a real gun forward and their small forwards haven’t been very good for a while now. Arguably Essendon was one of the most consistent sides, close games week in week out in an even competition.
Should’ve beaten Adelaide, GC twice, Carlton, Melbourne etc and they’d be sitting top 2-3 if they managed to convert their opportunities better. Caddy looks like in a couple of years could be a star, need to find a quality small forward and a big tall of quality.

David King just had a dig at Swans for the umpires helping them over the line. Every one of those deliberate OOB were there. The so called 50 was debatable. Collingwood do this every time in close games. Last year they got away with it but this year obviously the umpiring dept is on to them. What they do is push or knock the ball 3 metres directly out of bounds, trying to disguise it as accidental. They got done on it. Slow whistle from the umpie caused that & that is why he did not pay a 50.

Without it they'd be worse than North Melbourne who's fans would probably show up if their roles are reversed. Brad Scott was also a big part of North's fall away into the abyss doing exactly the same as what Brad Scott did to the Saints. Keep playing the same players, piss off some decent players by throwing them under a bus and never trying younger talents. Leaving a huge mess for the next guy to come in. Then Brisbane started to get on a roll, they were 13 on the bounce heading into finals, essendon were still firm favourites. @@stevelozevski8151 it was a contributing factor to the result 💯, not the reason they lost though, but definitely weren't helping them in anyway. Freo didn't even get a free kick until the 25th minute mark of the first qrt, @ this stage it was 6 or 7 to 0. In a game of football, honesty, how does a team not get 1 free kick in 25 minutes?

@@JustinSteele-gd5nu I agree with you. The umpires didn't pay free kicks because they wanted a Vic team in the top 4.🤦

@@JustinSteele-gd5nu from that point on, the free kick count was 19-6 in freo's favour. Three quarters of the game. and when the game was on the line. Suck it up, umps had nothing to do with it
