They swapped their coaches roles around and struggled with any continunity and flow with constant injuries making it worse. Follow that with last season our inside mids were Mitchell, Adams, Degoey. This year its been Nick Daicos and Jack Crisp. Your going to struggle when that's the case. Then you have Collingwoods 5 years in a row leading goalkicker having an Injury fuled year and having to try Injury prone kreuger and a guy who cant run Ash Johnson. There are lots of aspects to look at but it's been a year where anything that could go wrong has for the pies.
Yeah it's not like the clubs spent the offseason watching Collingwood games and worked out the magpies gameplan. Teams don't kick down the line like they used to. A great example of this is Rd 3 against st Kilda. The saints were switching the ball in all parts of the ground like crazy and that's enough to defeat Collingwood

A lot of Carlton's best 22 are out injured, probably 12 players now in the best 22 - it's decimated the season. 5 -6 players of the best 10 are out injured. Great sides cover that, to a point. Essendon were in close games all year, they won more in the first half of the year. They’ve lost 9 games, 7 of them they had more inside 50s. 5 of those they had more inside 50s and more scoring shots. Essendon lack a real gun forward and their small forwards haven’t been very good for a while now. Arguably Essendon was one of the most consistent sides, close games week in week out in an even competition. Should’ve beaten Adelaide, GC twice, Carlton, Melbourne etc and they’d be sitting top 2-3 if they managed to convert their opportunities better. Caddy looks like in a couple of years could be a star, need to find a quality small forward and a big tall of quality.
Essendon have improved, 4th in the comp for inside 50s, beaten 4 of the current top 8. Plenty of losses are on the back of missed goals, and they only really had poor games against port when their 3 stars had career days, st kilda when they couldn’t miss in front of goal and vs Geelong where the umps went bonkers in the 3rd term.

Collingwood do this every time in close games. Last year they got away with it but this year obviously the umpiring dept is on to them. What they do is push or knock the ball 3 metres directly out of bounds, trying to disguise it as accidental. They got done on it. Slow whistle from the umpie caused that & that is why he did not pay a 50.

From 2015 onwards we've stuffed up getting Andrew Russell as the high performance guru he's got all the players on the side lines injured. Also we've traded in good players but they are injury proned and canoot handle AFL football. So we got the recruiting wrong Now we got the fitness high performance program wrong.
I get that with the years that they have had, talking about the Eagles is not something that everyone wants. But to have a section talking about the game and not mention the comeback and their positive results. Disgusting.

Freo didn't even get a free kick until the 25th minute mark of the first qrt, @ this stage it was 6 or 7 to 0. In a game of football, honesty, how does a team not get 1 free kick in 25 minutes?
