The factor that makes HD25 uncomfortable to wear, is the earcups rotated angle. Earcups push your ears hard to glasses legs. HD26 pro have wider rotated angle, it's more comfortable than HD25. More affordable option is to buy a HD25 light's headband, less clamping force and better rotated angle. On Aliexpress, there are many earpads options, different material, of course they will change the sound, or decrease the isolation, but still fun to try.
I’ve been interested in checking out the HD26 Pro! Perhaps I’ll grab a pair of those and do a comparison video, thanks so much for pointing out the difference
I use a HME-25 headset as my daily driver, since it's basically just the 600Ω HD-25s with a passable mic stuck on from the factory. Really nice for video calls or gaming or even doing voice-overs, but how uncomfortable they are has always been really unpleasant for long workdays or lan parties etc, especially since I wear glasses. BUT, I just got a pair of these Yaxi pads in the mail today, and boy are they a gamechanger. They definiltey isolate a bit less than the original ones do, but that doesn't matter too much since i'm mainly using them in relatively low-noise situations anyways. My ear's not very golden, but I think there's a slight difference to the sound profile: maybe a bit more bass, and less of the sparkle on the upper end that the 25s usually have. Generally the curve feels flatter now than with stock. But most importantly, I was able to listen through an hour-long album with these headphones today without ever getting the urge to take them off for a moment, and that's something that's not happened before, even though i've been using these for ten years.
That is great to hear that they’re working out for you! I agree that they have an impact on the voicing of the headphone. But more importantly they’re comfy as heck
I wear similar glasses to you... do you find these pads more comformtable for your ears especially for long periods of wear? I find my ears feel bruised from being pressed against my glasses with the basic HD-25 pads.
Sweet. I just placed an order for my HD25’s. Keep making these great videos. I’m new to sound coming from photography and video only.
Awesome! They are a great investment, I hope you enjoy them. I will keep making videos, thanks for the support :)
