- Day three and Four - Hanoi, Vietnam
Day three wasn’t quite the day we had planned to have. Aspen and Milo were both unwell in the night. We’re not sure what from, possibly something they ate but we had all eaten the same things that day from a hotel and then a restaurant in the evening.
Jonty went out in the morning and experienced some of local morning life getting coffee and breakfast to bring back to us all. Staying in the Old Quarter was really lovely as it meant we could go out and explore on foot and everything was really close by. We also saved a lot of $$ with it only being $30 dollars a night for two bedrooms, a kitchenette and a bathroom! The air b’n’b was decorated lovely and a cheerful cleaner came in each morning.
After having something to eat we decided to head out to meet our friends to check out a market. Something we try to do on each holiday we have. Aspen was feeling a little better but Milo was taking it easy. Thankfully Jonty’s friend took me took a pharmacy and helped by some medication for the kids.
The market was small but jam packed with dried herbs, fresh meats and seafood, souvenirs and many more things. It was filled with locals going about their days and the odd tourist too. After picking up some souvenirs we headed to lunch to finally try some Pho. Yummy!
After this I took Milo back to rest at our air b’n’b and also started not to feel too well so we slept whilst Jonty and Aspen rode mopeds, saw temples, saw one of the largest preserved turtles in the world and checked out some cafes.
We all headed out in the evening for a while to experience local night life. Vendors selling selections of fruits on mopeds, push bikes and basked carried on long poles over the shoulder. The Old Quarter is all go day and night it seems.
After a good nights rest we all started to feel better for our last morning, Milo got a moped trip after all and after we had packed up it was time to head to the airport.
We loved Hanoi and are keen to explore more of Vietnam. But for now we have these awesome four days to remember.

Wow!! I would love to visit Hanoi! We visited Saigon few years ago and it had quite a different vibes to Hanoi !!
We’d like to go to Saigon too!
Aspen was riding on a trishaw after motor bike. We have these in Singapore but the bicycle is at the side, not the back of the carriage. In the past, it used to be pulled by man and called rickshaw then.
How interesting. I love hearing little snippets of SG’s history.
glad to see you all enjoying hanoi. vietnam's a lovely country with many places to explore. i went for 2 plus weeks and still haven't even scratched the surface
I didn’t realise Vietnam was quite so varied. I’d love to see more of the nature side of it and some smaller villages.
The chicken noodles look so flavourful. 😊
It was yummmmmmmm !!

do you have the name / the address of the pho place ? thanks
Yes! It’s: 1 Hàng Điếu, Cửa Đông, Hoàn Kiếm, Hà Nội … that’s the one Jonty and Milo went to on the last morning… the other one, we’ll have to ask Chau!
Viet nam always welcome you guys
Thank you so much!! We’re excited to come back again!
You have had such a fabulous time, thank you so much for showing us, Hanoi is a fantastic place and I feel part of the charm is being able to walk around the Old Quarter and see the different food places, and wee shops. The Pho looked so delicious.
Glad you enjoyed seeing Vietnam through us. Did you catch the other vlogs too?
The speciality dishes from Vietnam are the beef pho & Vietnamese spring rolls with prawns. 😊
Yes - although we were told that chicken is more the Hanoian authentic!
Poor Milo & Millie! I hope they feel better soon. Travelling while sick is the worst! Looks like you had a good time otherwise at least!
We had an amazing time even with the stomach bugs. Very glad we got to pack so much in.
Hello friend, I definitely enjoy watching your amazing videos, these places in Vietnam look so fun, let’s stay in touch. 😊 I hope you guys are doing fine, hope we can meet next time.
Yes! We had such a great time in Vietnam! We’ll have to go back again!
