Sand Casting a Ring with a Threaded Bolt in Place

A complete experiment where I tapped the top hole into a ring pattern, threaded a bolt into the hole and then sand cast sterling silver around the bolt.

A fine soot coating on bolt (from candle) is commonly used when using metal cores
