A pour like that could motivate others to tell Jesus you place your full complete faith in him.
What’s the point in the convoluted pouring set up? Made such a mess of it would be better pouring by hand
@@walterkovacs2612 don’t you enjoy experimenting once in awhile and trying new ideas? Probably not by your comment but I do and have built a wonderful business around it with lots of people who benefit from doing things a little differently sometimes.
One 6 mn video for near nothing, sorry. Unless you are completely newbie to the technique this shows nothing as I was waiting for a close zoom on the surface textures to compare the 2 media. Anyhow thanks for the video.
Great video, thank you. Exactly what I was looking for. Sand casting a wax heart.
Craig you are genius!!!
Hi, i'm trying to cast rings but my silver never settles in my cast complitly.. Is it an issue with the temperature ?
@@ulyssethierry3838 it could be many things and impossible to guess without seeing how you set up your flask. Join my group on Facebook called Sand Casting - Tips and Techniques. Then post your setup and let the members help you out with it.
Thank you , this has been very helpful 😊

How to order crucible holder brick?
Hi! I have the same issue, but my torch doesn’t give enough heat to loosen the metal again.. what nozzle / torch would you recommend to get enough heat? I’m using a propane torch (and I’m a beginner at this)

I like how you come up with new and cost effective solutions to produce jewelry. Patent your ideas! Many people around the world need low cost ideas to produce quality results and jewelry.
Thank you. They aren’t patentable plus just a single patent for something like this would be about $15,000 or more and even more if I also got an international patent.
THANK YOU for this video!!!!!!!
Hello sir How to calculate Investment by Flask volume and Tree volume ?
Great video as always, thank you! …..( please put a bandaid on that cut finger!) 🫣
I just read the description, thank you great video!!
I am also using old machine but I want a list of parts for perchaising som parts
Genious!!
I appreciate your videos, thank you for taking the time to teach and share your techniques. I tried my first sand casting today, not too bad but definitely something that takes time and practice to perfect. I really appreciate that you show how to finish the ring also.
Love that
Could you potentially talk more about how you would go about cleaning up a casted piece? For the bits that overflowed, would you saw or sand?
Thank you for this video, I appreciate your time. I was😊😊😊 struggling trying to solder a small piece into a large one.
Can this be done with acetylene? #3 head?
If it's combined with oxygen. I've never tried it with straight acetylene so you'd need to experiment.
Hola Craig magnifico tu trabajo gracias por compartir. Me puedes decir que tipo de piedra usaste?
I watched the entire vid. waiting to see the cast piece but nope.
Thank you such a great video ❤️
Hi, where can you get the inserts from please
I'm so grateful to have found your channel! I'm doing as much research as possible before buying any equipment to start casting. Id love to start casting my own intricate designs; rings, charms and small solderable components for my silver jewelry. Can this be done with the sand casting method? Or would I need to go with investment casting? Sand casting seems to be a bit more affordable to start but I'm starting to think it may not be ideal for my scope of work. 🤔
I do spin casting and have only just purchased a vacuum chamber. I used to paint all my waxes with investment to cut down on the bubbles and tapped them out in the flask on a vibrating table but this is very hit and miss.. My castings are super fine and I might have anything up to 100 in each 3 inch flask so if I can avoid painting them and rely on the vacuum chamber to remove the bubbles, I'm in business.. Thanks for the video. It makes a difference when you see a real person doing it on a day to day basis because there's a lot of experimentation along the way and tips like tapping your vacuum chamber table to agitate any stubborn bubbles can make a huge difference..
@@chrismalcomson7640 look up The Portland Jewelry Academy on Instagram. Jason has a very good investment video that we now use for everything.

Im from indonesia, apakah anda bisa membuatkanku ringskull dengan motif yang saya inginkan?
Seriously dude, how many people will light up a torch after accidentally left a propane tank leaking gas. Do you realize how stupidly improbable is that?Have you heard of propane ranges? Carbon monoxide, seriously dude? Propane burns pretty clean, you know how many running stoves you'll need to exhaust breathable air?
500 people a year unintentionally die of carbon monoxide poisoning and imagine someone living in a cold climate who decides to use something like this in a little shop not thinking about the dangers. kind of similar to those who use propane cook stoves in tents. It does happen.
@@craigdabler-thediycastings7511 500 idiots from 400 million big deal
This is why I always enter my house through a window. Imagine I walk up to my front door and put the key in the lock. Now the friction of the key onto the brass metal lock creates static electricity. Because I failed to ground myself with a 3 ft ground rod, rod driver and #2 AWG, the static electricity is traveling up through my arm and onto the rest of my body. Now, because my neighbor is outside using WD-40 on a rusty fence bolt, the neighbor across the street just had a shipment of highly explosive fireworks (because it so happens to be July 3rd) and the UPS drivers truck has a loose spark plug cable connection….the entire neighborhood blows up. So yeah, THAT is why I only enter my house through a window. Now, what’s the deal with this mini oven thing you made?? And how is this any better than a Dutch over or heat eductor propane powers Char-Broil unit?
@@IWishIWasPeterbot lol
What type of rubber is that in the vacuum system? Thanks
Good work
Is there a specific type/brand of vulcanized rubber I would need to use in the toaster oven? And what heat setting (degrees) should be used? Thank you very much.
I recommend using silicone spin casting rubber that can be found at Contenti, Rio Grande, Zero-D, and Tekcast. For powder separation I recommend the high durometer rubber that is stiff and doesn't flex while heating. If cutting with a scalpel then the softer rubber is best. Most vulcanize between 325* and 350* F. Most rubber is 1/4 inch thick so figure 15 minutes per layer.
Great video ! Thank you
Hey Craig What’s the size of the actual letter on the ring ? 2 or 3 mm? Thanks
It's been so long I don't recall but probably 2 mm.
Thanks I understand it’s been 6 years o so Is 2 mm a visible letter on the ring ? You remember something about it or is an average size letter ? Thanks again
Yes, if you look inside the ring the letters are legible to the naked eye unless you have poor eyesight and require magnification.
@@craigdabler-thediycastings7511 thanks for your time
where did you get that ring frame? I'm having a hard time finding those with built in ventilation
I’m actually the inventor of the side vents on the flask and manufacture two sizes of flasks and sell them at www.diycastings.com.
As you can see there is a variety of ways to use the clay and the small rings positioning of air breather holes this is a perfect video for folks that are new to this Delft casting process I like it much better than investment casting it’s so much cleaner no water no bubbles Very good video and technique thank you
Great video!! I've been casting bronze mounts for miniature furniture for years but have never had a debubbling machine. I usually put my investment flasks on my fretsaw which vibrates and tap out the bubbles with a stick. I can be hit and miss depending on the thickness of my investment (I don't measure it, I do it by eye). After watching you vodeo I just bought your debubbling machine, can't wait for it to arrive. I'm going to use my compressor in reverse with the machine but am concerned how much pressure I should look to get when I run my compressor. When I use my wax injector I have a precise setting I use and wondered if degassing will be similar...
Watch the investment mixing video by Jason Chandler on Instagram. Look up Portland Jewelry Academy and then scroll down a bit to find the video. We are now mixing based on this video and our casting quality has improved significantly.
Which power is that??
Power?
Did you mean powder? If so, I use mostly cornstarch but sometimes talc. I like cornstarch the best.
