Also thanks for mentioning both the good and the bad aspects, so many. reviewers just say the positive stuff, without focusing on the overall value of the laptop
Been using this beauty for an year now. In silent mode and on battery, I get about 4.5 hours, writing word documents, browsing the web, watching videos. Gaming performance is nice, those games look gorgeous in that pretty 1440p display. Doesn't look like a boyish toy, looks classy and sophisticated packing a beast inside. While gaming I noticed the temps go upto 95 degrees and the fans get loud, but can't complain.
I got this on sale last week with $1399 CAD + hst. One of the best budget gaming laptop IMO. WIth 12th I7 and DDR5 Ram. 3070 8G VRAM is good enough for all the 1080P game.
1199.99 at Best Buy right now. I just grabbed one to replace my 10300h + 1650ti asus tufbook. Things a beast, and although it may have a lower watt 3070 than what we'd want to see, the mux switch option and ddr5 platform make up the performance lost from the reduced power on the gpu. The screen leaves a bit to be desired, but they threw in a thunderbolt port along with an hdmi for additional screens, which I can't thank Asus enough for, as they make tb to dp adapters that seem to work with gsync compatibility and high refresh rates, a godsend for gaming displays.

Looked at this one live, but all the downsides bugs me. Lenovo Legion 5 Pro though seems like the best choice this year, also G-Sync available:) Ty for the review
Thank you for the great review I just ordered one for myself, its slightly different because it has a 165hz 1440p panel, 3070, 1tb m.2, 16gb ddr5 4800hz, display port.. I only paid £1150 in the black friday pre sale so that's a 32% discount, I was going to wait till Friday but I can't see them reducing it any more than £450!
@@JKB- Norway is definitely more expensive but that's still a good deal about the same as the black friday price I paid. I also picked up a 2tb crucial SSD for £100 in the sales so now I've got 3tb of storage because most modern games are almost 100gb!!
I got this laptop 2 days ago. I just live it. Slim, fast and very good performance on that price point. Only thing i felt is the srgb on 1080p 144hz panel is not great but other than that, just amazing 😍🔥✨️
@@BrianOnline Can you share your experience about that? I used my old laptop (dell g15 5515 ryzen 5800 with rtx 3060) with a 4k 120hz display through hdmi 2.1 port. I was amazed by the output that a laptop can produce nowadays. I am planning to use this one on the same. I am sure thunderbolt 4.0 with the mux switch will resolve the issue with 2.0b hdmi on this laptop and give me full scale 120hz output on 4k.
I used my 32” Samsung Odyssey G7 with 240 hz refresh rate and 2560x1440p resolution monitor. The experience was insane to be honest. It was much smoother than with my gaming PC build (it only packs 6 GB GTX 1060). Using this laptop in this particular configuration with a high quality monitor is probably the best thing you can do 🫡

Ive had this exact tuf dash for about a year now. It's cool, but it has some meh things with it. Most the screws on the bottom fell out, it might have been my fault a little bit, I did remove the bottom and put in a second m.2 but i swear i put the screw back on as tight as they go, one by one they all fell out and got lost over a years time. So i have 2 screws left, but since it's snapped on so tight i dont think it matters. Also one of the little pads above the monitor that cushion it when you close it to the keyboard fell off and got lost. My other issue is thermals and performance... this thing runs way hotter than I feel it should, i fear it is burning itself into the ground. After a 15 minute session with cyberpunk on high settings the vent above the keyboard and the area around it is painfully hot to the touch. When I wake it up from sleep allot of the time it is frozen from acknowledging the mouse-pad and keyboard and I have to wait at the password entry a very long time for it to work or turn it off and on. Due to the heat/thermal throttle Outputting a video takes much longer than my 11 year old desktop (asus sabertooth z77 with 16gb ram i7-3770k with gtx 1070). I can put the graphics higher on the laptop than the old 1070 desktop, but it is hot and unstable so i keep the fps limited through the nvidia settings. Cyberpunk used to run pretty good with ray tracing on, but since the new cyberpunk update the game is much more taxing and you can no longer get rtx with high settings without very low frames. I do like this laptop and have gotten allot of good use out of it. but it has major problems lol. I always end up with laptops with some issue or another, never have much luck with them, but i needed something to edit video on the go.
You have to realize laptops performance doesn't last that long that's why their price drops a lot just by a year, also laptop's main issue is overheating not just asus but I've handled a lot of laptops in my life that it's impossible for it not to be hot when playing games , u also cannot easily clean it inside unless u know how to dissasemble . If u want the best laptop that won't heat up that much I think alienware is the one for u, tho it's very expensive that it almost double the price compared to other brands with the same specs

Laptop all day bro the ally is amazing but it literally only has 45 minutes of solid battery play time unless your gonna play on super low setting and low brightness and we're gamers don't do it the ally is cool but if your a gamer the Laptop will be much more useful I just made this same decision wait for a price drop on the ally buddy
This is a bit weird to me. I just got the laptop today and i keep seeing so many different configs around the world and so many different opinions / benchmarks etc. Mine came with: - RGB Keyboard - AMD 6800H CPU - RTX 3070 - 500 GB SSD - 16 GB RAM DDR5 4800Mhz HOWEVER: I instantly trashed the SSD and the RAM because i preferred to mount a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro with Heatsink together with 32GB RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR5 4800Mhz. I was kind of expecting the RAM and SSD quality to be somewhat of a letdown but yeah, the rest of the machine is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend it.

Hi! I haven’t noticed any issues with performance. However, in performance mode, without a cooling pad, sometimes it might start overheating depending on the specific unit you’ve got. On the Balanced mode - no issues at all
I have this laptop as well and i will say that the battery life on this laptop sucks terribly bad. The screen is not great but very usable. I can only game for about 40 minutes before getting scared of it dying on me with the battery. The fans sound like that are about to take liftoff while gaming. my FPS while gaming isn't as high as what you are getting, i'm getting about 10-15FPS less on COD then you were. maybe i need to check my settings though. besides that it still games very well.
saw this used for 750 dollar. I was going to upgrade my alienware i7 9700 desktop to 3070 or 3080 (it has 1660ti). do you think it's worth it for 750 or I should just upgrade my desktop? thanks
thats a great deal for this laptop, really depends on if your traveling a lot or not, but a desktop will always be more powerfull and better for gaming if thats what your going for.
How are its performances for a 105w 3070 compared to a 130-140w 3070 Some articles and vids show similar but on paper and some other articles show widely great differences. Im really confused any help wud be appreciated
@@printitpaintit.2436 Incorrect, it's 80W + 25W boost. The 130-140W models see about 10% improvement over 100W models, but 100W is a pretty good sweet spot for performance and efficiency
@@Harmonic14 the featured model is almost a year old, the version I picked up is a late 2022 model one of the last produced. Also it says on the website and in the manufacturers description that it's a 115w + 45 boost in mux mode which is all the time but hayho!
I got this laptop and I'm super happy. Overall build quality far better than other brands I had and performance are really ok, considering I got a 3070 for notebook that is approx 25% underpowered compared to desktop ones.

I don't mind that part. Most of the time I am using it like a desktop anyways. Just for times when I might be out and about and don't feel like taking a monitor, then I have to put up with the built-in monitor. But at home like I said, usually dock it and use my own keyboard and mouse with another monitor and just use the laptop monitor as a secondary monitor.

Hi! Yeah, that’s for sure 😂 tech world is changing. And no, I didn’t use a cooling pad. But it never hurts to let your laptop “feel better” and use a cooling pad at least when you’re not going somewhere. It’s not necessary, but it’s a “safer path” 🫡😁

I was wondering this too, i want to do some interior and light architecture design work with it and would prefer a better screen. its not a deal breaker because the price was great, if not i can use a monitor. @@themightyucha Me too bro. Both are good. Helios have slightly good processor than tuf dash f15 & it have a good display where tuf dash f15 dont have that kind of quality display. Helios have rtx 3060 6gb vram & tuf have rtx 3070 8gb vram. Also helios have better cooling system. My biggest concern is that vram. Still thinking what to buy

Hi! This is an issue bro. Try using another wall plug (preferably even in different apartment or a cafe), checking the cables if they’re connected tightly , and if that won’t help - return the product if you still can.
Not really... With RTX 3070 a least you get insane gaming performance, but with RTX 3050... Poor screen, poor performance... I don't know even how you would use this laptop with 3050 under the hood... kinda meaningless

@@andrescallo5619 saludos amigo yo adquirí una Asus tuf dash del 2022 con rtx 3060 para lo del sobrecalentamiento las únicas opciones viables sin monearle cosas específicas como lo que recomendó el amigo Brayan al final de su último vídeo. En si mi consejo en base a mi experiencia con la laptop es que obligatoriamente se necesita una base enfriadora para que le suministre aire fresco, con respecto a la configuración del armored create de Asus depende de lo que vayas a hacer ya que da tres opciones las cuales son ahorrativa que para mí no es muy buena ya que por algo se compro un aparato de estas características jeje, la otra es la intermedio que usa gráfica integrada y la dedicada al mismo tiempo por su puesto dependiendo de la acción usa la gráfica lo gracioso aquí es que en este modo se calienta mucho ya que usa ambas y se calienta el procesador y gráfica la configuración es eficiente pero calienta, la última opción es para trabajo ya más fuerte en este caso indica que solo va a usar la gráfica dedicada para toda acción en si es bueno ya que mantiene temperaturas más frías por qué en si usa la gráfica fuerte el único inconveniente que le podría ver es que de esta manera se desgasta la gráfica aunque en si para eso fue creada. Puedo acotar que en gaming en mi caso se mantienen temperaturas de 70 a 85 grados solo en casos extremos de día caluroso sr aumenta a 90 y poco más pero prendiendo un aire acondicionado o un ventilador de casa baja varios grados. Eso sería todo en base a mi experiencia jeje XD espero te sirva de algo Bro 👍 saludos

I bought this laptop in Jan 2023 for 1519€ (Italy). Since then, I'm very disappointed. I get a lot of aliasing with Forza Horizon 4, Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 4-5, Metal Gear Solid V [a 2015 well optimized game]. I have problems with the grass and foliage, illumination and drop fps. I tried different in-game settings (720p, 1080p, low-med-high details). Really I don't guess this laptop can run Cyberpunk or RDR2 at acceptable fps (I mean steadily 60 fps). I wasted my money.
especially for rust man because any computer will use some of the ram for ram to work mine is 8 gb hp pavilion 15 laptop and only registers as 7.4 gb useable

Laptop all day bro the ally is amazing but it literally only has 45 minutes of solid battery play time unless your gonna play on super low setting and low brightness and we're gamers don't do it the ally is cool but if your a gamer the Laptop will be much more useful I just made this same decision wait for a price drop on the ally buddy
This is a bit weird to me. I just got the laptop today and i keep seeing so many different configs around the world and so many different opinions / benchmarks etc.
Mine came with:
- RGB Keyboard
- AMD 6800H CPU
- RTX 3070
- 500 GB SSD
- 16 GB RAM DDR5 4800Mhz
HOWEVER: I instantly trashed the SSD and the RAM because i preferred to mount a 1TB Samsung 980 Pro with Heatsink together with 32GB RAM Corsair Vengeance DDR5 4800Mhz. I was kind of expecting the RAM and SSD quality to be somewhat of a letdown but yeah, the rest of the machine is absolutely stunning. Highly recommend it.

@@saad7267 I got RDR2 and Cyberpunk. Need to redownload and play them a few hours. I'll get back to you on this in 2/3 days. Also keep in mind i switched the RAM and the SSD like mentioned in the original comment so my model is now Custom made.

I have this laptop as well and i will say that the battery life on this laptop sucks terribly bad. The screen is not great but very usable. I can only game for about 40 minutes before getting scared of it dying on me with the battery. The fans sound like that are about to take liftoff while gaming. my FPS while gaming isn't as high as what you are getting, i'm getting about 10-15FPS less on COD then you were. maybe i need to check my settings though. besides that it still games very well.

thats a great deal for this laptop, really depends on if your traveling a lot or not, but a desktop will always be more powerfull and better for gaming if thats what your going for.

The 130-140W models see about 10% improvement over 100W models, but 100W is a pretty good sweet spot for performance and efficiency

Also it says on the website and in the manufacturers description that it's a 115w + 45 boost in mux mode which is all the time but hayho!
I got this laptop and I'm super happy. Overall build quality far better than other brands I had and performance are really ok, considering I got a 3070 for notebook that is approx 25% underpowered compared to desktop ones.

I was so interested about getting this laptop last month but my only reason not to is bad colors on old generation lcd.
I don't mind that part. Most of the time I am using it like a desktop anyways. Just for times when I might be out and about and don't feel like taking a monitor, then I have to put up with the built-in monitor. But at home like I said, usually dock it and use my own keyboard and mouse with another monitor and just use the laptop monitor as a secondary monitor.

And no, I didn’t use a cooling pad. But it never hurts to let your laptop “feel better” and use a cooling pad at least when you’re not going somewhere. It’s not necessary, but it’s a “safer path” 🫡😁

@@andrescallo5619 saludos amigo yo adquirí una Asus tuf dash del 2022 con rtx 3060 para lo del sobrecalentamiento las únicas opciones viables sin monearle cosas específicas como lo que recomendó el amigo Brayan al final de su último vídeo.
En si mi consejo en base a mi experiencia con la laptop es que obligatoriamente se necesita una base enfriadora para que le suministre aire fresco, con respecto a la configuración del armored create de Asus depende de lo que vayas a hacer ya que da tres opciones las cuales son ahorrativa que para mí no es muy buena ya que por algo se compro un aparato de estas características jeje, la otra es la intermedio que usa gráfica integrada y la dedicada al mismo tiempo por su puesto dependiendo de la acción usa la gráfica lo gracioso aquí es que en este modo se calienta mucho ya que usa ambas y se calienta el procesador y gráfica la configuración es eficiente pero calienta, la última opción es para trabajo ya más fuerte en este caso indica que solo va a usar la gráfica dedicada para toda acción en si es bueno ya que mantiene temperaturas más frías por qué en si usa la gráfica fuerte el único inconveniente que le podría ver es que de esta manera se desgasta la gráfica aunque en si para eso fue creada. Puedo acotar que en gaming en mi caso se mantienen temperaturas de 70 a 85 grados solo en casos extremos de día caluroso sr aumenta a 90 y poco más pero prendiendo un aire acondicionado o un ventilador de casa baja varios grados.

I bought this laptop in Jan 2023 for 1519€ (Italy). Since then, I'm very disappointed. I get a lot of aliasing with Forza Horizon 4, Watch Dogs 2, Far Cry 4-5, Metal Gear Solid V [a 2015 well optimized game]. I have problems with the grass and foliage, illumination and drop fps. I tried different in-game settings (720p, 1080p, low-med-high details).
Really I don't guess this laptop can run Cyberpunk or RDR2 at acceptable fps (I mean steadily 60 fps).
I wasted my money.
Im not good at this stuff but i think u can control the usage of your CPU somewhere in ur settings maybe ur not using the full power of ur laptop
