Tom asked Peter Graves to be in the first Mission movie, but I totally get why Graves turned down the offer. Phelps in the show never would've betrayed the team and had them killed! A stupid, weird decision. It also cost the film money surely because having Graves in it would've been a big draw. Just a huge missed opportunity. But hey, Cruise did eventually strike gold with MI he just keeps batting home runs sequel after sequel.
