I'd hate to give WB any legitimacy in thinking I would buy it full price, or be bothered to play through it just to see this. Also sweet christ that ending didn't feel very satisfying. I was like "wait, does it say how to scroll faster at the bottom? Oh no way you can't be serious that's it?" No legit ending after cleaning up the 12 left?
There's no fcking way the ending is just "Well, i guess thats it, next mission now?" Like, not even a cutscene about the repercussion of a bunch of B-Lister villains defeating the JusticeLeague and Brainiac. And even worse is their final "tribute" to Kevin Conroy at the end, sh1t, they killed him off like some random mob in the game and the villains barely cared.
In their defense, they had no way of knowing about Conroy before the release. This game will have free updates with new characters and new maps (Arkham Asylum), that's probably why it's not over. But it's a never-ending game, when it flops once and for all, then there will be an end

The best redemption that Rocksteady could bring to this game was to put Arkham Batman in a dilema where he had taking a choice and save the world from Brainiac, sacrificing himself but noooo they just put Harley to make a nonsense shot in the head
They simply shoot batman like a dog. If they wanted to kill him, they could have done that in style. Kevin's batman deserves an honorable death in a fight or in an act of sacrifice

Gotham Knights should've been the continuation of Arkhamverse, and this should be seperate universe. As a concept playing Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl after Knightfall Protocol makes more sense than playing as Suicide Squad and resurrecting Batman in the most rushed way possible and killing him in the most obnoxious way possible. They treated Batman as a Legend in Gotham Knights and is given a meaningful death and sacrifice which passes the torch to the Knights which is very fitting for the Arkhamverse

By playing all 4 Arkham games, this is how he passes away, in such a dishonorable fashion by the hands of Arkham Harley. But i know that Arkham Nightwing would take over reigns by putting on the cowl.
We don’t even know if he is still alive. Batman mentions Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, and Red Hood, but Robin was the only one confirmed dead. It’s possible Batman went after them afterwards.

However, Bruce's hologram did say that Nightwing, Barbara & Jason are still alive since right there he was unable to locate Jason Todd. And Nightwing is protecting Bludhaven as Batman wanted. So if...If...there is another Arkham game coming out, it'll just focus on Nightwing. As he is technically Bruce's successor.

Got to at least give credit to them about they handled the riddler. He’s consistent, narcissistic, and beyond fucking annoying. Every time you’re focused on what you need to do, he butts his head in and tries to make it about himself. The patience Batman had with him for all those years is truly astounding

You no longer need to think about how best to defeat the boss and what strategy is needed for this. All you need is just run (fly) and shoot. 🤔 That's why I think it's made generally for kids - to be fast, fun, easy. I know that my opinion is subjective, but.. The game just doesn't fit my (and perhaps many others) expectations. I mean it doesn't feels (and looks and plays) like a legacy of the Arkham series. It's made generally for a 7 years old kids who will become future DC fans, and it make a lot of strategical sense for DC. I'm just crushed after 9 years of waiting.
All the bad stuff aside, there's a few good aspects, King Shark maybe the most prominent one. Decent dialogue, great voice acting. At least that's one thing they got right

Yeah, I suspect they'll incorporate other league members into further fights with brainiac, maybe even members that weren't in this version of the league, like aquaman or blue beetle. I also believe that they probably WERE gonna combine all the league members into one boss fight with brainiac, but they just ran out of time. They did Kevin dirty, but I'm just glad we got to hear him again. I'm not saying this game is good, but for what we got, it ain't that bad. Let's wait and see what the developers do before we cast our ultimate judgment, especially since thus is a multiverse game, meaning that there might be other different league members corrupted.

I really wanted to like the game. I love the designs for the characters, especially the League and King Shark. And I really like how the 4 main leads interact off each other. But the way they did the League dirty really soured my enjoyment. Especially with Batman, since the way they handled him, (him killing people including the Bat Family), basically ruins the entire Arkham series. Here's what I think would've made the game a lot better; Give players the option to save or kill each League member. Like, if you kill the League, you get a bad ending and the game makes you feel bad about it. If you spare the League, you get a good ending, although it's a little harder yet more rewarding to get. Also, here's how they should've handled Batman. Instead of him being mind controlled, perhaps he and Diana are the only ones not mind controlled, (replace his fight with another League member. Like Aquaman, Plastic Man, Cyborg, Martian Man Hunter, etc), and have him and the Bat Family, (don't kill them off, since it ruins the ending to Arkham Knight), develop a way to free the League members. If you kill the League Members, this results in Batman becoming a boss fight. If you don't kill the League members, he stays your ally. I think giving players the option to spare or kill the League would've resulted in a MUCH better game.

Okay if anyone at WB Games had a brain they should have done this: Have the players play as a Suicide Squad that is sent in to assassinate the corrupted Justice League comprising of everyone except Batman because, as far as the world is concerned, he died in the events of Arkham Knight. The Suicide Squad is tasked first to take out Superman and is given kryptonite to do it and they assault the Hall of Justice. During the fight though more heroes keep showing up and eventually in a cutscene it's revealed that you were setup by Waller to give Batman, who is very much alive and well and Waller knew this, a chance to download his Tower of Babel protocols from the Hall of Justice. Enraged at being setup just as a distraction for Batman, a dying Harley Quinn gets one last shot off and mortally wounds a Batman escaping from the Hall of Justice via teleportation tubes and is then summarily executed by Superman. Where does Bruce teleport to? Titan Tower. Nightwing sees Bruce mortally injured and holds him as he dies, with Bruce entrusting the Titans to take down the Justice League and save the world. The game then has the players playing as members of the Titans as they use the Tower of Babel protocols to take them down and simultaneously find a way to save them. This would have allowed WB to honor Kevin Conroy's Batman with a noble sacrifice, have players play as genuinely good people trying to save the world, and would have allowed iconic, younger superheroes to be introduced in future updates. Imagine how much cooler it would have been to get to play as Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Kid Flash, Superboy, Robin, etc. It would have been a far better game than this absolute slop.

Thought this was a solid game. Thanks for the playthrough. Will likely pick up on a nice sale. Story was solid mid tier and the replay-ability is there for me with different build combo, reminds me of borderlands with elements of destiny.
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say, this game isn't too bad! I can see why people don't like it because it is OBSCENELY REPETITIVE, but I like the story and the camaraderie between the Suicide Squad members, especially the banter between King Shark and Captain Boomerang. If anything, the voice acting is VERY well done in this game and TOP NOTCH. Pushing King Shark / Nanaue as more akin to Drax the Destroyer is kind of an odd choice, but I guess it would have been boring if he had just said "KING SHARK IS A SHARK" all throughout the game like a Groot-like character. Edit: Also, I understand why people are kind of upset about HOW Batman died, but really...it kind of makes sense considering what happened with the Joker. Also, Brainiac-controlled Batman is also a pretty dumb Batman, as we can see. So...justice is served? I guess? But yeah, all that buildup through the Arkham games to just be snuffed out like that. Quite sad.

It's weird that people are upset that they ended the Arkham Batman this way.. the plot wouldn't exactly allow this Batman to retire, and so they'd have to hire a new voice for him had they continued, and you'd be just as upset then. Honestly, if he was possessed by Brainiac and the only solution was to kill him, then Bruce Wayne would 100% be on board with you ending him by any means necessary because he wouldn't want to hurt people. So honestly.. it seems appropriate. It wraps up the Arkham series Batman, and if there's an elseworld's version of him that shows up in the game, it's not a big deal if its voiced by someone else in the future. People will literally complain about anything. The suicide squad didn't kill Batman, because Brainiac already did.
The problem is this entire game invalidates Arkham Knight. Batman had to fight off Joker's hallucinations or else he would destroy Gotham and everyone he loves. He won that fight, but at the cost of revealing his identity and had to go into hiding to protect Gotham. This game ruins that by him joining the Justice League on top of being brainwashed by Brainiac. Let's not even get into how the Squad should've died at many points in the story.

Two rumors circulating about the plot either confirm that their DNA was altered and they can come back to life, or that they weren't even from that universe to begin with and Brainiac has the actual justice league kidnapped somewhere. Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this set in the Arkhamverse? We've already seen Deadshot in the Arkham games, and he had a much more serious personality. It seems like he's been given a Marvel character development treatment here, with a more wacky portrayal.

Someone took notes from the Ultrakill / Doom school of proper FPS fun and forced players to engage to gain back resources (shield harvesting, in this context). Honestly Kudos to them for paying attention not to the mechanics themselves, but what they entail within gameplay.

If I think about it, Superman will be the only League member to come back. Kryptonians heal when they die. Also, it would’ve been beneficial to see how Brainiac captured and turned the League anyways
There's just something off with the lack of plot points and dialogue. Like even in the beginning of the game the developers just give them all basically the same mission to meet up and there is no real conversation among the squad or waller for what is going on besides end of the world jokes. Like in the Arkham games every event, even in a side quest, was so extra detailed with Batman's character and villain's dialogue. Even if we hated the death scenes if there was decent plot besides that maybe it'd be alright, but damn that was rough

There's no fcking way the ending is just "Well, i guess thats it, next mission now?" Like, not even a cutscene about the repercussion of a bunch of B-Lister villains defeating the JusticeLeague and Brainiac.
And even worse is their final "tribute" to Kevin Conroy at the end, sh1t, they killed him off like some random mob in the game and the villains barely cared.
In their defense, they had no way of knowing about Conroy before the release.
This game will have free updates with new characters and new maps (Arkham Asylum), that's probably why it's not over. But it's a never-ending game, when it flops once and for all, then there will be an end

Gotham Knights should've been the continuation of Arkhamverse, and this should be seperate universe. As a concept playing Nightwing, Robin, Red Hood, Batgirl after Knightfall Protocol makes more sense than playing as Suicide Squad and resurrecting Batman in the most rushed way possible and killing him in the most obnoxious way possible. They treated Batman as a Legend in Gotham Knights and is given a meaningful death and sacrifice which passes the torch to the Knights which is very fitting for the Arkhamverse

By playing all 4 Arkham games, this is how he passes away, in such a dishonorable fashion by the hands of Arkham Harley. But i know that Arkham Nightwing would take over reigns by putting on the cowl.
We don’t even know if he is still alive. Batman mentions Robin, Nightwing, Oracle, and Red Hood, but Robin was the only one confirmed dead. It’s possible Batman went after them afterwards.

So if...If...there is another Arkham game coming out, it'll just focus on Nightwing. As he is technically Bruce's successor.

Got to at least give credit to them about they handled the riddler. He’s consistent, narcissistic, and beyond fucking annoying. Every time you’re focused on what you need to do, he butts his head in and tries to make it about himself. The patience Batman had with him for all those years is truly astounding

I mean, that's not what most Arkham fans expected.
Talking about the gameplay / missions, I found it somewhat repetative. You no longer need to think about how best to defeat the boss and what strategy is needed for this. All you need is just run (fly) and shoot. 🤔 That's why I think it's made generally for kids - to be fast, fun, easy.
I know that my opinion is subjective, but.. The game just doesn't fit my (and perhaps many others) expectations. I mean it doesn't feels (and looks and plays) like a legacy of the Arkham series. It's made generally for a 7 years old kids who will become future DC fans, and it make a lot of strategical sense for DC.
I'm just crushed after 9 years of waiting.

Yeah, I suspect they'll incorporate other league members into further fights with brainiac, maybe even members that weren't in this version of the league, like aquaman or blue beetle. I also believe that they probably WERE gonna combine all the league members into one boss fight with brainiac, but they just ran out of time. They did Kevin dirty, but I'm just glad we got to hear him again. I'm not saying this game is good, but for what we got, it ain't that bad. Let's wait and see what the developers do before we cast our ultimate judgment, especially since thus is a multiverse game, meaning that there might be other different league members corrupted.

The twist of waller wanting to take control is a great dramatic scene same with the nuke
I really wanted to like the game. I love the designs for the characters, especially the League and King Shark. And I really like how the 4 main leads interact off each other.
But the way they did the League dirty really soured my enjoyment. Especially with Batman, since the way they handled him, (him killing people including the Bat Family), basically ruins the entire Arkham series.
Here's what I think would've made the game a lot better;
Give players the option to save or kill each League member.
Like, if you kill the League, you get a bad ending and the game makes you feel bad about it.
If you spare the League, you get a good ending, although it's a little harder yet more rewarding to get.
Also, here's how they should've handled Batman. Instead of him being mind controlled, perhaps he and Diana are the only ones not mind controlled, (replace his fight with another League member. Like Aquaman, Plastic Man, Cyborg, Martian Man Hunter, etc), and have him and the Bat Family, (don't kill them off, since it ruins the ending to Arkham Knight), develop a way to free the League members. If you kill the League Members, this results in Batman becoming a boss fight. If you don't kill the League members, he stays your ally.
I think giving players the option to spare or kill the League would've resulted in a MUCH better game.

Have the players play as a Suicide Squad that is sent in to assassinate the corrupted Justice League comprising of everyone except Batman because, as far as the world is concerned, he died in the events of Arkham Knight. The Suicide Squad is tasked first to take out Superman and is given kryptonite to do it and they assault the Hall of Justice. During the fight though more heroes keep showing up and eventually in a cutscene it's revealed that you were setup by Waller to give Batman, who is very much alive and well and Waller knew this, a chance to download his Tower of Babel protocols from the Hall of Justice. Enraged at being setup just as a distraction for Batman, a dying Harley Quinn gets one last shot off and mortally wounds a Batman escaping from the Hall of Justice via teleportation tubes and is then summarily executed by Superman. Where does Bruce teleport to?
Titan Tower. Nightwing sees Bruce mortally injured and holds him as he dies, with Bruce entrusting the Titans to take down the Justice League and save the world. The game then has the players playing as members of the Titans as they use the Tower of Babel protocols to take them down and simultaneously find a way to save them. This would have allowed WB to honor Kevin Conroy's Batman with a noble sacrifice, have players play as genuinely good people trying to save the world, and would have allowed iconic, younger superheroes to be introduced in future updates. Imagine how much cooler it would have been to get to play as Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Kid Flash, Superboy, Robin, etc.
It would have been a far better game than this absolute slop.

Thought this was a solid game. Thanks for the playthrough. Will likely pick up on a nice sale. Story was solid mid tier and the replay-ability is there for me with different build combo, reminds me of borderlands with elements of destiny.
Say anything about the game but the humor is good. The conversation between squad cracks me up from time to time
I'm going to play devil's advocate here and say, this game isn't too bad! I can see why people don't like it because it is OBSCENELY REPETITIVE, but I like the story and the camaraderie between the Suicide Squad members, especially the banter between King Shark and Captain Boomerang. If anything, the voice acting is VERY well done in this game and TOP NOTCH. Pushing King Shark / Nanaue as more akin to Drax the Destroyer is kind of an odd choice, but I guess it would have been boring if he had just said "KING SHARK IS A SHARK" all throughout the game like a Groot-like character.
Edit: Also, I understand why people are kind of upset about HOW Batman died, but really...it kind of makes sense considering what happened with the Joker. Also, Brainiac-controlled Batman is also a pretty dumb Batman, as we can see. So...justice is served? I guess? But yeah, all that buildup through the Arkham games to just be snuffed out like that. Quite sad.

It's weird that people are upset that they ended the Arkham Batman this way.. the plot wouldn't exactly allow this Batman to retire, and so they'd have to hire a new voice for him had they continued, and you'd be just as upset then.
Honestly, if he was possessed by Brainiac and the only solution was to kill him, then Bruce Wayne would 100% be on board with you ending him by any means necessary because he wouldn't want to hurt people.
So honestly.. it seems appropriate. It wraps up the Arkham series Batman, and if there's an elseworld's version of him that shows up in the game, it's not a big deal if its voiced by someone else in the future. People will literally complain about anything. The suicide squad didn't kill Batman, because Brainiac already did.
The problem is this entire game invalidates Arkham Knight. Batman had to fight off Joker's hallucinations or else he would destroy Gotham and everyone he loves. He won that fight, but at the cost of revealing his identity and had to go into hiding to protect Gotham. This game ruins that by him joining the Justice League on top of being brainwashed by Brainiac. Let's not even get into how the Squad should've died at many points in the story.

Two rumors circulating about the plot either confirm that their DNA was altered and they can come back to life, or that they weren't even from that universe to begin with and Brainiac has the actual justice league kidnapped somewhere.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but is this set in the Arkhamverse? We've already seen Deadshot in the Arkham games, and he had a much more serious personality. It seems like he's been given a Marvel character development treatment here, with a more wacky portrayal.
Not to mention king shark made an appearance in Batman assault on Arkham and killed off. and captain boomerang was killed off in the expanded arkham universe comics as well…

I'm also confused why the Flash and WW didn't team up and have better chances, I mean they can obviously woop GL's ass since even WW can go toe to toe with Supes.
I waited for a huge plot twist about them not really needing to die and then Luthor comes up with a cure or something. didn't happen.

There's just something off with the lack of plot points and dialogue. Like even in the beginning of the game the developers just give them all basically the same mission to meet up and there is no real conversation among the squad or waller for what is going on besides end of the world jokes. Like in the Arkham games every event, even in a side quest, was so extra detailed with Batman's character and villain's dialogue. Even if we hated the death scenes if there was decent plot besides that maybe it'd be alright, but damn that was rough
