      Do not put the drip pan below the heating elements, put it in the slot just above the heating elements for obvious reasons. You don't want food & grease dripping on the heating elements.
      I Have had mine for a couple of weeks & so far it works great. My only negative is the white paint on the Power switch & the On/off switch has already worn off.
      Unfortunately Ninja is made in China so hopefully it lasts at least 2-3 years.

    This is one of the best reviews I've seen. A little suggestion though. I noticed on my cuisinart fryer a lot of splatter was getting onto the top and upper elements. I purchased a 2nd fryer basket direct form Ninja (it's cheaper than Amazon) and I put it ABOVE what I am cooking. This catches almost all of the upwards splatter and does not interfere with air flow.

    • @Changelingheart
      @Changelingheart ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is the tip I'm looking for. Bc cleaning the top and those upper elements has to be such a difficult thing to do in any air/oven. I was hoping the elements could be removed for easier clean-up. Like the heating elements (the eye) of the older styled electric stove-tops.

    • @LordGandor3
      @LordGandor3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If your not broiling you could put the broil pan on the top rack to block any potential splatter

    I am on my 3rd AirFryer and each has its Pros and Cons, and I am ready to replace them with my next. I have been torn with so many models with lots of research and I use your reviews since they are so detailed and honest, Thank you. I wish the makers of AirFryers would consult with you to make the uber AirFryer

    • @Changelingheart
      @Changelingheart ปีที่แล้ว

      Can I ask which has been your favorite and which to avoid, and why?? I'm assuming the Pros outweigh the Cons bc you continue to use the Air Fryers, no doubt bc the food benefits are worth it, as are the conveniences of using.

    Best oven for baking all kinds of breads and cakes! This is never mentioned anywhere, even on Ninja's website! I might have made the biggest mistake, but I was the luckiest since my Caso Stem Chef was a disaster for breads! I could not have made a better decision. Thanks for your review from Tel Aviv!

    Yes!! Let us talk about that pizza function!!!!! I just bought mine a few weeks ago, was craving a jacks pizza something fierce, that pizza function is LIFE!!!!! And the Toast setting shade 4, is perfect for any sandwich melt!!! I pretty much quit using my oven, and semi quit using my stove as well!!! This has been a life changer!!!!

    Amazing review. Extremely detailed with the kind of information that you often don't find in other reviews. people do need to know how large or small the interior dimensions are before they buy, and temperature is critical also. Some ovens claim to do 450 but don't go much beyond 400.

    Thank you Sir for your expertise and well appreciated patience for informing the buyer of the unknown details in this Ninja 201 oven and the possibilities to consider as a self-made chef. I cook outside, inside, hot coals, smoking pellets, propane, you name it I love it! I have a Ninja kitchen. Coffee pot, pressure cooker, inside grill, air fryers out the ying yang and now I have the 201 oven. The only cooker left is Lightning and that will take some serious thought. Where you gonna buy it let alone harness it? Good video!

    Great review. The rear fan makes it unique as the speed is controlled by the setting you have selected. It is also a 3rd heat source to work like a rotisserie when cooking roasts and whole chickens etc. Also this is what eliminates the need to rotate the food like other ovens. Feature is highlighted right on the box.

    Thank you for confirming that it doesn't preheat to the set temperature in 90 seconds. I exchanged my Ninja Foodi XL Pro Air Oven because it took 10 minutes to reach 450 degrees, NOT 90 seconds. My second Ninja also took 10 minutes to reach the 450 degrees. Disappointed that the advertised 90 second preheat time is a bit misleading. 🤷‍♂️

    The 90 second preheat claim stated on the box is very misleading. I and I’m sure other people would naturally think that means it would reach your target temperature in that time. But in reality after the 90 second preheat the oven has only reached 135°F approx. For an example it will take 10-minutes approximately to reach a target temperature of 450°F Just trying to clarify this point.

    Other than the burnt area, for me that toast is perfect. But taking 5 minutes to toast a couple slices of bread is a big deal for me. I like the idea of making 4 slices of toast at once tho, and to have the bread fully toasted w/o toaster lines is probably worth the extra minute or so. (And a 4-slice toaster takes up a lot of space on a counter, too.) I like the addition of time while baking to complete the process as shown w/ the crescent rolls.. As far as the chicken bites, they typically use a higher temp and more time in any conventional oven bc they start out frozen. But also need to remember they tend to dry out quickly when baking. So I would not walk away from them. Can you smell foods as they are "cooking"? And does the air fryer retain any odors like a microwave does, even with regular cleaning?? Thank you!!

    For me this oven on 450 bake will not get past 400. And most modes it takes a super long time to heat because it's just using the heating element around the fan and not the upper and lower elements. Reheat is the fastest heating mode because it uses the upper and lower on max. With the strange preheat on top of that you can't use this thing reliably without your own thermometer.

    As always, a very comprehensive review, Darnell. Just wondering if your Ninja XL Pro oven came with a temperature probe for cooking whole roasts? I do see that you used your own ambient probe for this video, which I'm assuming can be used to monitor temps for whole roasts, IDK. I watched one particular video prepared by the Ninja company illustrating how to use their temp probe with this machine. They showed that there is an input spot for the jack underneath the handle on the right-hand side. However, many of the videos I've viewed for this oven, unboxings, etc., do not include any with the probe supposedly "provided" by Ninja. Can you share any information?
    Thank you for your informative videos.

      @@WaveOvenRecipes I was finally able to find the Foodi XL Smart Air Oven Pro, model # DT251, that does include the temperature probe. It's selling on Amazon for $299.99. Really didn't want to spend that much money for that. The videos I watched including yours convinced me to buy this particular unit w/o the temp probe, so I purchased the same model that you own from BB&B at a sale price of $239.99 plus I had a 20% coupon that I used. Ended up being a good price for this item after it was all said and done. With the money I saved, I bought a probe thermometer with the wire connection, very similar to the one you used in one of your other videos from Amazon for less than $20. Also, mine doesn't fan cover, have you heard or find out from others why some of it doesn't have fan cover (i am wondering may be because I bought mine in amazon and not in ninja website). I Have had mine for a couple of weeks & so far it works great. My only negative is the white paint on the Power switch & the On/off switch has already worn off.
    Unfortunately Ninja is made in China so hopefully it lasts at least 2-3 years.

      The drip pan stays on the bottom. If you have something that will drip grease. This is how you handle it:

    Is this the same one as your link takes you to (DT201)? The dimensions listed on Amazon says it's 20" wide, but your measurements show it being smaller than that. I like the size that you're measuring (less than 18") but 20" won't fit.

    You set the toast function for 4 slices instead of 2... I expected the toast to burn on that setting... Probably should select the actual number of slices of bread when using the toasting function to see if it really doesn't regulate correctly not not?

    • @WaveOvenRecipes
      @WaveOvenRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don't understand. My homemade bread is much larger than that stuff you buy in the store. Literally twice as big, unless I make cinnamon bread 😋
      But the setting is correct. The cooker simply fails on recognizing to adjust the toast time when already hot.

    • @WaveOvenRecipes

      No. And you don't have the holes and connections to install it even if you got ahold of one. You would have to drill holes and install parts to have brackets to hold it onto. Which would immediately void your warranty.

    • @WaveOvenRecipes
      @WaveOvenRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, consider adjusting how you wipe the front. I highly suspect some of you are using an abrasive cleaning product or wiping too forcefully on the handle. I have never had such an issue. See my latest video using it

    • @brianm8052

      I haven’t even cleaned that area. It’s just from touching it. That’s the issue. Looking at reviews on Amazon it’s an ongoing issue but glad you are not having that issue. I’m just disappointed at a 299 price point tha lettering would be coming off. Amazon is exchanging it since Ninja wanted to charge me. I’ll see if it happens again. Thanks for your reply.

    • @WaveOvenRecipes
      @WaveOvenRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Something rubbing off from just _touching_ it. I have to think more is happening. Sorry, it just doesn't add up. I have used another cooker where paint rubbed off from vigorous cleaning. But just _touching_ I have to be the skeptic. Seems more came into contact with the handle than just touching. Maybe some type of oil, something.

    • @brianm8052
      @brianm8052 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not sure what doesn’t add up. I did a lot of reviews on this product and saw that this was an ongoing issue. I purchased anyway and was careful NOT to clean or wipe down that area. Even Ninja was aware of the issue and was willing to replace it but I didn’t feel I should pay for shipping. Everything else works great so far. Read some reviews on Amazon Bed bath and Beyond etc. Maybe it will help you add up.

    • @WaveOvenRecipes
      @WaveOvenRecipes  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I have seen already and feel it's more than simply touching it that causes the issue.
