@@Blackkitty32 Oh yeah, I was really there. 19 year old lil boy was I.
I remember very well when Motley Crue debuted their brand new never heard song. Vince stated.."We have a brand new song from our soon to be released album and we want to play for you today.....The drum beat and Micks guitar started the rhythm and then Neil asked the audience to say it with him... - SHOUT !! - SHOUT !! - SHOUT !! - SHOUT !! - SHOUT !! (and as 400,000 rockers are shouting this....Neil says...SHOUT AT THE DEVILLLLLL !!! and away the song goes. Forever etched into my brain.
I would end up seeing the Crue 4 times with Carnival of Sins tour being the last.
Loved every minute of that day. Started with Quiet Riot at 9am and didn't end till 2am with Van Halen.

Everyone bags on Vince. He sounds no better here than in 2022. He never sounded good live. People have no idea, in general, how difficult Vince’s vocals are too pull off and to be his age after all he has been through physically and emotionally to pull this recent tour in 2022 off is amazing. Effing love Motley Crue. Saw them so many times in the early days and they sound as good as ever in 2022. Wow!!!!

Watching Motley in 1983 makes me realize one thing. Rock and Roll is a young man's game. I understand all these bands are still playing to make the money, but the magic is lost when they become senior citizens. Very few can pull it off.

In 1983 I received a cassette tape from a friend. It had Twisted Sister "Stay Hungry" on side A, and Mötley Crüe's "Shöut at the Devil" on side B. That Maxell or TDK tape got worn out. I bought anything from Mötley Crüe I could find from that day forward. I've seen them over 15 times in concert, I saw Tommy Lee get arrested for showing his junk. We've seen debauchery and insanity, craziness and all sorts of sexuality and other acts of "love"....lol. The 80's were a decade of decadence and Mötley Crüe was the PERFECT band for it. They indulged anything and everything. It was said NEVER EVER take your girlfriend backstage to a Crüe's concert. She'll no longer be your girlfriend and IF she is, you may not want her to be. These guys had FUN and didn't give a flyin` f**k if you liked it or not. For teenagers back then they were our band, our mantra, our Rock and Roll Legends! AND THEY KICKED ASS!

The early 80's, mid 80's, late 80's were the most iconic times for Metal. I was able to see some unbelievably talented bands play live. From Alpine Valley to the Eagle's Club, to Summerfest, the Marcus Amphitheater, Mecca, Bradley Center, to County Stadium for Pink Floyd. I was lucky enough to have seen well over 150 concerts. Accept, AC⚡DC, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Anthrax, Armored Saint, Autograph, Black Sabbath, Blue Oyster Cult, Bon Jovi, Boston, Cars, Cinderella, Damn Yankees, Def Leppard, DIO, Dokken, Europe, Faith No More, Faster Pussycat, Great White, Guns n`🌹Roses🌹, Heart, Helix, Iron Maiden, Jackyl, Judas Priest, KISS, Krokus, LA Guns, Living Colour, Lita Ford, Loudness, Lynch Mob, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Megadeath, Metallica, Metal Church, Motörhead, Nazareth, Night Ranger, Ozzy Osborne, Pantera, Poison, Quiet Riot, Queensryche, RATT, Sammy Hagar, 🦂Scorpions🦂, Skid Row, Slaughter, Stryper, STYX, Ted Nugent, Tesla, Triumph, Trixter, Twisted Sister, (even)Ugly Kid Joe, Van Halen, Vixen, Warrant, W.A.S.P., White Lion, Whitesnake, Winger, Y&T, ZZ Top, and THE BEST OF ALL OF THEM, @ Milwaukee County Stadium. PINK FLOYD! There are a lot I missed on this list. Many of them were at the 93 QFM Rock Stage at Summerfest. Or the Lazer 103 Rock Stage @ Summerfest. Some were at the Harley Davidson Blues Stage at Summerfest. In many cases my buddies and I would get tickets for the shows in Milwaukee at the arena venues like the Mecca Arena, the new(at the time)new Bradley Center, and the smallest of the bunch the Eagle's Club, Eagle's Ballroom, or a few other names. Then there was Summerfest. The Summer Music Festival held on the shore of Lake Michigan. They built the Marcus Amphitheater for the larger or "Bigger" Bands/Events/Shows. We got to see Metallica there, twice If I remember correctly. Summerfest also had a great variety of stages for EVERY Musical tastes.🎼🎵🎶🎹Musical concerts🎼🎵🎶🎹 from all walks of life. From Country Western, Southern Rock, Classic Rock or classic Country Western music. From Hip-Hop to Rap, even Symphonic music had it's own spot. And of course our area. Early on it was the 93QFM Rock Stage. 93QFM was the place for Hard Rock, "Heavy Metal", classic rock, etc. There was also the "PURE" Classic Rock station 96.5 WKLH. They were also a good station. They'd play Led Zeppelin, Jimi Hendrix, etc., & other classic rock from the 60's and 70's. In the 80's, WKTI/94.5 was a "everything" type station. They played Top 40, Rock, some classics, some Hip-hop, some heavier rock, like Aerosmith....lol. Especially the "Walk this Way" collaboration Aerosmith did. A bit later, I'm not sure when exactly, another station arrived. 102.9 or Lazer 103. They played the newer hard rock. Bands like Mötley Crüe, Dokken, RATT, Metallica, Megadeath, etc. So at Summerfest these stations were all attached to their respective Stages. If I remember correctly 96.5/WKLH teamed with Harley Davidson and they did the classic Rock/Blues Stage for a while. Point is it was a musical experience like no other! They had or the did the Lazer Floyd experience a few times as well. Summerfest was incredibly fun. Plus it ran from June 28th to 29th until July 10th? Again I'm not sure of the exact dates or time-frame. However Milwaukee has a "tradition" called the "BIG-BANG". It's obviously done for a July 4th holiday experience. However it doesn't or didn't occur on the 4th of July. They'd still have the July 4th party with fireworks.🎇🎆🎆🎆🎇🎆🎇🎆🎆 But during the "Big-Bang" usually a couple days before the 4th, they'd have this OUTRAGEOUS, INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL FIREWORKS DISPLAY which lit up the entire Downtown Milwaukee sky. I remember being at a concert, and we got to see this insane fireworks show going off to Metallica's music! It was absolutely incredible!
I've seen some people who are bashing Mötley Crüe's performance. Yes I'm a bit biased, but I've seen them 15+ times and they have ALWAYS busted their asses for their fans! They've always given 150%! Plus I've seen Nikki Sixx help a young woman who the bouncers were literally kicking the crap out of, he stopped in the middle of a song, he "fired" the security guard for pounding on what Nikki called a 100 pound defenseless girl, he then jumped off the stage, with Tommy and Vince right behind him, got the girl away from the guard who now also had "help" and a minor fight ensued. You may think your clever or ?? for bashing Mötley Crüe's concerts, but for a band that "sucks" as bad as some of you claim? They've sold out arenas, stadiums, theaters, everywhere they go. They've made more money on their bad performances than most of the haters will make combined! They've dated and have had relationships with women that again the haters wouldn't even have a remote chance to even say hi to, let alone sleep with them. Mötley Crüe wasn't the "norm", they shattered the normal. And for all of you crying and whining about how bad they were? For every one of you there's thousands of us who LOVE Mötley Crüe, live and in studio. So keep crying because we'll drown out your whining with Metal straight up your ASStronomy.

Ankylosing spondylitis, I have a life long friend that has this horrific disease as Mick does.. he’s 53 and it has kept progressing over a 25+ year period. And this is after getting t-boned by a vehicle traveling 65 mph in 1991 breaking his neck and spending over 6 months with a hallow screwed into his skull.. I was there with my pal through it all and still to this day for anything needed.. My 🤘🏻Horns 🤘🏻are up for Mick, my first hand witness of the depths this disease allows me an inside knowledge of its tragic effects. Mick doesn’t move on stage,,, except his hands which is what we should be watching... his head stays down... because he can’t move his neck and shoulders and more!!! But he’s still doing it live. Shout came out when I was 14 , we probably sang along with it sounded better than Vince live, so what, doesn’t matter, it was a major part of my life and millions of others. I will never forget.🤘🏻☠️🤘🏻. Out of all 4 of them Mick got dealt the worst hand.. you haven’t heard him crying about it,,been sick of hearing Nikki’s ass tell his narcissistic self bragging story for years... and Tommy at least is still appearing to be the same fun loving music playing goofball he ever was, only one I hear seemingly bragging about his past (and driving his Ferrari on Sunset) and heroin, although has been a good supplier of lyrics is and will always be known as about the simplest bassist ever known through these decades... we still rocked their shit and still do.. 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

I saw the NineInchNailz and it was the same thing. It was so packed I could hardly breathe, it was so hot and sweaty, my feet kept coming off the ground and I'd move around floating.I was almost 60 years old but I stayed up front the whole show.

was in a similar situation (not this show) and my entire body was paralyzed by hordes of crushing people. I remember distinctly realizing every time I took a breath I couldn't get a full one back in. suddenly my body started leveling downwards, like as if my feet were caught. the crowd was pushing so hard and no matter what I did I could not move and knew within a few minutes id be dead. I just remember the smell of the body heat and hearing someones face pressed on mine making these really awful noises. like trying to scream with tape on their mouth. fortunately it started to break up and I remember the sheer panic and joy of being able to actually take a step. I got outta there and never ever went to a general admission crowd for shows like this.

9:13 So this was May of 1983. Shout At The Devil was released in September 1983. No wonder Looks That Kill didn't get a huge response from the fans since this song was played before its release. The crowd was like, well, this sounds pretty cool.

This was a Soundboard recording. There were over 300,000 people screaming. Everyone loved all the bands. I was in in the front, was a blast!

They are a fun studio band , but live the vocals are brutal. Mick is the backbone of the sound, without him, these guys never would have made it.

I thought this exact thing. Mick at 33:30 and his slide is fucking awesome. That is my favorite Mick Mars riff. Just the way he's doing the hammer ons and switches to that killer slide, its epic. Tommy does a pretty good job live too. But Mick literally carried this band!

Very true! That said, the one stupid thing their frontman kept doing was cupping the mic. IF YOU'RE A FRONTMAN OF YOUR OWN BAND, DON'T CUP THE FUCKING MIC! It truly makes the vocals sound terrible on top of other issues.

    • @drinkingpoolwater
      @drinkingpoolwater ปีที่แล้ว +6

i agree. his riffs are what made the band. its pretty clear. the other guys couldve been anybody but mick had the spark.

Those 80s motley shows were epic, if you weren't there to see it live you missed out. No vince isn't Freddie mercury, but it didn't matter. Much like van halen with roth it didn't matter. The best shows I've ever seen between those bands. And I've seen hundreds. There is a reason they went to the top, people need to stop with the revisionist history. The band out there today is not the motley of the 80s, not even close.

I will admit I am 46 and loved M Crew as a kid! I was shocked listening to the first 2 songs and how bad they were. I have seen a few bands live in my time but hearing this without being there is shocking

The Fleetwood Mac music stands out all the time. Waht a moment in rock and roll history. I wanted to go so bad. My uncle lived in California and was a rock star himself. Parents wouldn't let me go. To this day I regret not figuring a way.
