When I click on the icons that act as menu headers in the modules section it changes the list. Could you explain what is going on. I initially thought it was toggling to the items that are already in use or in the history but the logic doesn't fit.

I agree with Rico. Go with DT. I was in a similar predicament. I ended up doing some testing on a few images and came away more impressed with DT results vs. RT. But, I've seen some amazing results with people using Rawtherapee.

Using number keys in lighttable
Great vid. My canon M50 raw files don't seem to work with darktable. Is it a waste of time editing the jpg files in Darktable?
Is it cr3? Cr2 should work. Try converting the cr3 to dng and edit the dng in darktable. Let me know if that works.
