I SO love that cute little pink puffball! Some people rag on how easy going Kirby games are, but whenever I play them, whatever bad feelings I had before, tend to go away afterwards.

@@rookietrucker5114 I agree with you 100%, my friend. I also recently picked up Kirby and the Rainbow Curse for the Wii U from eBay, and that game is actually pretty fun for what it does.

Its reminding me a lot of Mario 64 in terms of how powerups are handled. 2D Kirby and Mario, powerups are rewards, occasionally being needed to find secrets.
In 3D, they're often regulated to specific levels for specific challenges

Makes sense there’s not much copy abilities. Of course some of them had to be sacrificed for the upgraded copy abilities and mouthful mode. Still looking forward to this game.

Anyone that is a Kirby fan that has played every single kirby made starting from GameBoy/Nes etc should know there is always a harder mode after you beat the base difficulty.
So there shouldn't be any worries about Forgotten Land to only have 2 modes.
And its annoying i have to experience a game with little challenge until after i beat it
I also wouldn't put it past them to make harder versions of bosses somewhere along the line.

When I played the demo, I didn't actually know the game ran at 30 fps. Usually 30 fps isn't different enough from 60 fps for me, so I don't mind.
I love the soundtrack to this game. It’s so upbeat and optimistic, which I sorely needed these days. It even has a pop song in a made up language.
Some of the best visuals + controls + rumble (etc) in the game. Not difficult, yet satisfying.
I'm curious about the pause menu of all things. They always hold backstory tidbits and if they're gone I'll survive- but that'd be a bit of a bummer.
Andre also mentioned copy abilities being a bit more simple but I wonder how true that is- again in the demo you'd think that Sword was just standard cut and spinning jump slash but people found button combinations that enabled his full 2D moveset- it just wasn't listed anywhere.

Kirbys return to dreamland on the Wii is my personal favorite and probably the most underrated Kirby game of all time but Forgotten land may dethrone it. Can't wait till Friday.

Are you forgetting Kirby Air Ride? That's 3D and co-op. Loads of fun.

Gonna wait on this... Lego Star Wars comes out 11 days later and it looks like a beast of a game!
co-op experience and difficulty might be my minor gripes, but I first have to play it.
I really hope this is just the beginning of Kirby in 3D.

If you’re playing with a friend during your review though then it makes me wonder if Wild mode is a lot tougher with just Kirby.
I just need to know, how can you view the move sets for the copy abilities? I don’t remember seeing them in the demo.

I'm glad this has no spoilers! I want to go into this game as blind as possible! Glad it's pretty good since all other reviews I've seen have been unhelpful (ex "This game is a kirby game.") Or said it was really dull. I'm really excited for the bosses and levels!
I’m in if it’s got an EX mode like Return to Dreamland. Probably have to wait till release to find out though.

If you watch kirby right back at ya enough, you'll see a waddledee absorbing food inside the mouth part.

I just 100% it. Definitely one of the best Kirby games since Planet Robobot. It’s just very cute and charming and I kinda feel bad for all the Awoofies I clobbered. XD So glad I was able to play this earlier than expected! :)

At this point the Yoshi games are somewhat sister games to Kirby. Wonder how cool a full 3d Yoshi would be too
For anyone that lives in Canada, if you pre-order a physical copy of Kirby and the Forgotten Land from Wal-Mart, they are offering a pretty neat pre-order bonus. Along with the game you get a free Kirby and the Forgotten Land cinch bag. This bonus is only available for the first 2000 people who pre-order the game. I secured my order online a few days ago. The only thing that sucks is that it's going to take until March 31st for it to be delivered. So I'll basically have to wait another week before I get to play this amazing game.

Definitely getting this game. I know you didn't touch on any end-game content but I'm assuming there is some as in most Kirby games. 12 copy abilities including sleep and crash is pretty lame. Honestly I'd still love to see them turn the Great Cave Offensive from Kirby Superstar into it's own fully fleshed out 3D game. I doubt the game will get much if any DLC, but I do wish suplex, yo-yo, wisp (or spark) and a few other copy abilities were included instead of having upgraded versions, or maybe having each copy ability only have 1 upgrade but you have to do like a whole quest chain to get each one. I also really want them to bring back animal buddies, not just in Kirby but in Donkey Kong as well. Seriously, what does Nintendo have against animal buddies these days!?

If LEGO Star Wars wasn’t coming out within the next week, I’d be getting this game tomorrow.
The game does look fun. Especially the roller coaster part, as a theme park enthusiast.
I’ll watch the review after I’ve played through the game, I want to go with a less spoilers as possible.
Kirby Game Was In 3 - D On The Nintendo 64 Console
Going to have a ball with this the demo was smooth solid 30 frames and it's improved well in the final cut well worth the $80 purchase
If I had to give it a rating, I'd give it a solid 8. I honestly think Hal lab did a good in making Kirby's first 3D adventure. I'm not upset at it not being open world like some people are; I think having the game being in a sort of Super Mario 3D world style of game is a great way to introduce into a 3D platformer. I also thought the mouthful was both funny and horrific, especially in some of the game over screens. My biggest complaint has to be the copy abilities. Because of the evolutions and mouthful mode, you don't get that much in terms of variety with abilities. Especially since 3 out of 10 of them are better for exploration and crowd control than fighting. But since this was kirby's first 3D platformer, it makes sense that there would be a lot restrictions in terms of moves. I just wish had at least 12-15 normal abilities instead of just 10 normal and 2 single use. But overall, this was a great game and I can't wait to see what they'll for Kirby in the future or if they'll add dlc like Star Allies.

game looks like the Kirby version of a great calamity.
They should add friend abilities that would be fun to use again.
Who knows? They could possibly do that in a future update maybe. Kirby Star Allies is getting a resurgence of attention now, that they could do something of it. It's nice to meet you and nice name you have as well.
Metroid Dread made me a Metroid fan. This game will make me a Kirby fan.

Man 2022 has FAR too many games. Gonna have to be comfortable with playing despite spoilers for most of them because there is no way I could keep up with the pace. 2025 might still have my 2022 backlog going

Idk man... This game does not have enough refreshing Ideas to give kirby a new breath of fresh air. Its kirby, but in 3D, but that is not enough to me to make up for the slow, way too easy and uninteresting platforming. I know platforming is not the main Focus, but it is not even fun to move around.. the "Newness" of the third Dimension wears off after an hour and it feels just like any other Kirby game to me. :/
