This was a nice history lesson. I didn't know olive oil was such a common tradeable good for the Byzantines. I love olive oil, so a civ mechanic built around it sounds really cool. Aesthetically the olive groves look nice too. Also Cheirosiphon I think is pronounced with a "K" sound like "Chaos" from what I read the Ancient Greeks didn't have a Ch sound. The way you said it sounds cool too though.
I thought the Romans paid their soldiers in salt? Anyway sounds like a really tricky civ to play, as your civ bonus can simply be disabled by the enemy cutting off your aqueduct chain. Most likely people are gonna make tight compact towns to prevent this. Which is kinda on brand lol!
Can you make a video on how to get good at the game? I have played for over 250 hours but don't really perform well in standard matches since I have mostly always played custom matches. ☹

I think they should just use gold to hire mercenaries. I don't mind if the Byzantine Farms include olive trees but Mercenaries fight for money.
