I just bought a Humvee from GovPlanet, and its report says the motor doesn’t run. So, now I must binge watch your project vids so I’m better prepared for when it arrives. Thanks for documenting it all.
Pro tip for the fuel filter replacement. Lossen the 3 7/16 cap bolts but do not remove them. Do not disconnect any of the fuel lines. Instead, leave everyting on including the clamp bolt. From inside the vehicle while sitting in the drivers seat, remove the 2 7/16 bolts that hold the fuel filter bracket. Fuel filter with housing is now easier to move around to remove the 3 cap bolts to service the filters (green screen and molded paper filter). Clear the drain line. Clean the inside and fill halfway up with fuel and install new filters then the cap with a new o-ring. Place the oring in a zip loc bag and put it in the freezer overnight to shrink it. To prime, loosen the stainless steel screw at the top. Crank until only fuel comes out (no bubbles). Start and run the engine. Check for leaks then install into firewall by using an awl to center one of the bolt holes and install a bolt into the other. Tighten both once started. You're done.
CDR valve serice pro tip. So you dont drop that bottom clamp after you loosen it. Place a small zip tie under it so it doesn't slide down once it's loose.
I just installed my PCV valve. ( I thought it called the CDR valve ) whatever it called it stopped the smoke from oil filler which I thought was blow by. So glad that You started another project. Every video lerned something from you. Thanks for sharing.
Great information, it makes sense to change the filter for better air intake. Those original ones looks like designed for desert. Would have been great to know how it drives before and after.
Love your videos. I just won my Humvee last week . Now the wait time for release. Meanwhile I watch your videos . Can you add links to the parts you install on the videos ?
Do you have an update video or picture of how much you cut out on the air filter housing for the new filter. Could find it in any other the other videos.
Man your videos are great. You clearly are mechanically capable. The way you understand these trucks shows your experience level.
I don’t know about that level but thanks bro!
