I went for a walk and ran into her and teenage daughter.He kept jumping up on me and he playfully nips at me . I told them I just had surgery and I'm on blood thinners . Don't either of you correct your dog???? This is probably one of the reasons people treat your dog like they do because they're people like this around. I'm sorry you have to go through that but pretend you don't notice and maybe they will go away.🌺🤗🐕

I agree!! That face says it all, and it breaks my heart when those who are ignorant and don't realize you cannot put every Pit Bull into the same category of being vicious murderers, are just plain ignorant. I love Ottis, and found myself shedding a few tears to know people can be so judgemental toward this incredibly sweet guy!
Sorry, I will always be cautious around pitbulls for my own safety. Doesn't mean I cannot open up to one after observing what they're like... but the reputation they've acquired as a breed is just bad.
Rusalka Pitbulls by nature are sweet, lovable, goofy, and loyal.
It’s humans who, through cruelty and heartless exploitation, have given some of them a bad name.
Many Pitbulls who have been abused as bait dogs are still quick to forgive when they have been rescued by kind humans.
People create monsters, they are not born as such.

I worked in the Veterinary profession for 30 years and Pitties were some of the sweetest dogs I ever worked with. I NEVER had an issue with any aggression from any of them. The worst bite I ever got was from a Cocker Spaniel and the most aggressive dog I ever worked with was a Bichon Frise! Pitties are sweet, sensitive, loyal dogs that are unfairly judged. Otis is beautiful and true to his breed!
I agree but unfortunately in my canton of residence (Geneva, Switzerland), they are forbidden. I've been trying to see if I can get an exemption to adopt one from the local dog shelter but it's very tricky!
Vet tech here, agree totally, Chow and Sharpie (lol) were my bites but honestly the poor feral kitties did the most damage. All worth it though.

That's exactly what happens to my dog Jax. He's a big boy but one of the sweetest dogs I've ever meant. People stand and stare, sometimes I ask if their dog is friendly because Jax certainly is, 90% say no and they just stand there giving bad vibes off to their dog. It's not the dog it's the idiot people. Meanwhile their dog wants to check each other out. I want him to meet other dogs he deserves it, being such a wonderful dog.
One of my best friends used to have a big huge Rottweiler named Dax that was just the sweetest ball of love, but looked like he could just take people apart, super intimidating, your story reminded me of that ❤️
100% agree. I have a 7lb chihuahua and ppl assume he'll be snappy. Not true. He's a lover! Maybe just try a smile & ask ppl, DO YOU WANNA PET HIM? HE'S FRIENDLY. Maybe putting that out there first will open them up. ??
Yeah until he latches on another dogs throat & won't let go. They're bred for fightIng, its in their DNA. They're dangerous. I know bc I've experienced it.
@@t.g.7180 I truly understand the trauma of experiencing a dog attack--experienced it myself w/2 other lg breeds-- but you're not taking into account the fact that even among a pure breed, individual dogs display individual traits that sometimes are opposite the norm. Some breeds like Rottweilers and Dobermans were bred to guard and protect, yet I've known some of each that were so timid & cowardly, they could never be guard dogs. Also, humans are breeding litters rapidly and it doesn't take long for some traits to modify. Today's pitbulls, much like dobies, are not the super aggressive breed from just 10-20 yrs ago. Some breeds have practically lost their prey drive. We must resist the urge to lump every individual into one description. It's as inaccurate to do dogs that way as it is to stereotype humans. But dogs are capable of changing for the better a lot quicker than we humans are. I've encountered so many docile, gentle, tolerant pits it has truly changed my opinion of the breed.
@@t.g.7180"Pit" bulls (what a terrible name). They were bred to "tenderize" beef (cows) and they used to jump up and nip the cattle - man is disgusting - and in doing so supposedly "tenderizing" the flesh before slaughter. Hence the "bull" bit.
Are they bred for fighting? Some are - once again man is disgusting - and they use the docile dogs as "bait" dogs for them to attack in a "pit" that's why I don't like to leave my dog outside a shop in case he gets stolen and used as a "bait" dog - he is nearly fifteen a bull terrier X (now isn't that a nicer name?) and has the sweetest temperament.
It must've been so terrifying for you to experience a dog attack, I'm so sorry that you had to go through that.
I used to be so anti bull terriers until I met my boy, I just love him to bits. He was a rescue who had been left to starve and he was so afraid of everything - he isn't either of those things now : )
Rottweilers were bred to pull sledges (in Germany) because of their size and broad chest.
I think it's quite prudent to be wary of any new dog you meet until you get to know and trust them.

I have a Pitsky (Pit/Husky mix) in my household. The expressions reminded me of her. Guess both breeds certainly know how to show you how they feel with their faces and actions. 🤣

I lived with Pitt Bull remarks all the time. I had a Pitt Bull (aka Straffordshire Bull Terrier) for 12 years. Roxie NEVER bite a person or another animal. When people found out how gentle she was, they fell in love with her. I share the following all the time: Roxie died on Valentine's Day 2021 of liver cancer. I laid beside her, held her and looked into her eyes as she took her last breath, when she passed.. I cried like a baby. I miss Roxie so much. The Pitt Bull Family gets a bad rap. The first time I met a pittie was through a friend who had adopted his as a puppy. I was in love with the breed from that moment, head over heels. Hands down, these are my favorite breed of dog.

As a former pit owner he was the sweetest thing, afraid of water, we called him using here kitty kitty. I loved that dog he was one of the best pets I had.

Funny how the ugliest people are the first to recognize "ugly" dogs (which are not ugly). The pit bull dilemma is a difficult one. The fact is, pits are wonderful, gentle, and loving "with family." Tragically, there's a history of this not being true with strangers (even postal carriers). They're fiercely territorial and protective of "the family." Once you're in "the family," you're fine. If not (as a rule) you'd better watch out.

Seriously, this made me cry! You're right, people misjudge pitties, yet, the majority of them are the best family dogs. I empathize with you, not that I had Pit Bulls in my life, but I am an animal lover and cannot stand animal cruelty! This sweet guy is not only a beautiful soul, but he has such a sweet temperament and those eyes, I wanted to cry when you said people say nasty things about him! Just know, for every one of those that put every pittie into one category as being vicious killers, there are a hundred times more people that know Pit Bulls got a bad rap for a few dogs who were trained to fight, and many of those dogs don't want to, they are tortured and thrown into the ring, like the Mike Vick Pit Bulls! I LOVE your sweet boy and understand why you are obsessed with him. I don't know where you live, but here in Des Moines, there are Pit Bull owners all over the place!!! Ignore those people, and know they are certainly not the norm! Just looking at his eyes melts my heart. I had a Pug, and she could make you feel so sorry for her even when she was extremely happy and content.
Your pup is amazing, and so are the two of you. Just want to add, that you are doing a great service to your beautiful fella by giving him food that you make and that is completely chemical-free and healthy for him. A woman who raises Newfoundlands does the same, no dog food, and they live up to 16 years or more. You are a wonderful couple and your sweet boy is truly awesome.

I have had that happen a lot! My girl loves kids,but everyone shields their kids and glare at me. It's sad. Pitties are so friendly and joyful,they don't deserve the reputation bad owners have given them.

@@juliadesl when they dig up the ruins of Pompeii,they found Pitt bulls sheltering babies and small children. Their bodies were pressed on top of them to protect them.

I had a pitt named Koda and he was absolutely amazing. They are so loving and intelligent. People stigmatize them because of what a few have done and I honestly believe it's because of how the dogs were raised and the environment they're in.

He’s pretty as a picture 💗. I grew up with Bull Terriers and experienced others crossing the road when walking them - some people are just nervous around these breeds, but uploads such as these go a long way dispelling many of the egregious myths circulating about bully breeds.
