The issue is the same as the evolution of USB-A, B, and now C. The 1/4" jack has ruled the electric guitar world since the 50's. They could possibly have a bluetooth connection, with a rechargeable battery. Would you like that? I think changing the 1/4" jack standard is not going to happen any time soon.
I generally agree but sometimes, when one pedal is mounted below another for instance, it's not always convenient. The answer? I wonder if it's feasible for manufacturers to offer both options. But then moving pedals around... I guess we just have to find our own solutions to this first world problem 🙂
@@owenphillips1646 I was listening to some old videos of mine (not as good of recordings) and I’m 99.9% sure you can get nearly identical tones in the two but what I appreciate more about the ODR-C is the amount of control and flexibility you with multiple parameters present. My pedal board is only a Nano+ so I ask a lot of my pedals. I’m currently running 4 gain/dynamic type pedals into my HX STOMP. The possibilities are massive but the real Easter is super compact, just the way I like it. If you know the Nordlander ORD-C I’m sure you are aware of this but did you know he is the actual creator of the ODR-1? Can’t go wrong with this green dream lol
There’s some indication from Browne that the way the Atom receives power-on its own rather than sharing as a part of the dual drive Protein-might have an impact on tone. Thoughts?
That’s interesting. It still sounds very similar and familiar to me but admittedly I haven’t A/B tested the two. I don’t think you would notice a massive difference
It is true, but minimally and very nuanced - obv going from a dual to a single means something is different - Ive had people say its exact and others say it has a little more goodness... could be a lot to do with what your playing through and whose playing it?
Have the Protein, everyone seems to rave about the Blue side, quite rightly so, it's superb, but the Green side is always my go to
Great playing & tones as usual. I wish pedal makers would agree on top mounted jacks - how hard can it be?
I know right? Pedal makers these days... I blame Dave Brown.

@@p6x2 they were talking about the jack location, not the size.
@@p6x2 you have a point - if someone can come up with a better connection than a 1/4 inch, it would be a game changer

Ironic as I liked the Bluesbreaker side so I ordered one the day it was released ,LOL Love to see you pull out your Fidelity :-)
Thanks dude!
Thanks for the video!
Was wondering if this stand along ODR version sounds the same as ODR on Protein?
Thanks!
I believe so
Have you ever played the Nordlander ODR-C? … I have a feeling you might really enjoy it 🙃
Im tossing up between this and the nordland - thoughts?

I need to try one!
@@JacksonBrooksby yes sir! I highly recommend it 😎🤙
Nice watch dude 😉 ..might go well with a Silver Sky?
Keen eye 😉
Can you justify a Lightspeed AND an Atom?
Absolutely! They’re still different sounding pedals. I was just comparing them in terms of versatility

Very interesting
日本で販売される日が楽しみです!
Is it noisy at all? I found the protein had more hiss than I like.
I’ve experienced no noise
How close do you think it gets to the protein green side and if there is differences how would you describe them?
It’s the same
Nordland odr-c?
🤘👍🏿
Not sure I’m a fan of the way the knobs overhang the case on a number of Browne pedals
I see your point. It’s never been a factor or a thought when I’m using them though
