For the watch active, have you tried using another watch-face in AOD mode? As far as I know, AOD always shows the watch-face as it is, except for the background image + clock watch-face. :)

I just recently upgraded from my galaxy watch active 2 to the Galaxy Watch 4 because of a fault on my active 2 and I've to say this free upgrade is so worth and the fact that I can use Google play on my Watch makes the experience better
I'd like to know this too, my galaxy 2 just glitched out yesterday and died. I'm so lost without a watch but don't want to shell out over $200 for a new one 😫

Great review! I pre-ordered the S23 (going back to Android after trying out the iPhone 13 Pro for a year lol) and wanted to get one of the Galaxy Watches. Decided to go for the 4 instead of the 5, since there isn’t that big of a difference and I was able to find one on eBay for a decent price lol. Was looking for some videos on the Watch 4, and am glad to see you’ve made quite a few about it!

I started out with the Active 2 & LOVED IT but I had battery issues so I ended up upgrading to the 4, and as much as I did like some of the newer features, the body style just wasn't for me so I actually went back to the active 2 & for me, it's just a better fit. I used the 4 as a trade-in for a new computer ;)

I downgraded to the galaxy watch 2 active 44mm because the battery life was atrocious. I get 4-5 days with conservative use with the active 2 minimal sensor use and if I did the same settings with the watch 4 44mm I'd get 2 days at the most. No idea why the more efficient processor didn't contribute to better battery life. maybe it's that new sensor hogging the power. Speed is exactly the same when scrolling notifications... can't see any difference at all. Just a big sluggish to power on from a dead battery but it settles pretty fine after.
I just bought this watch yesterday evening and I get it on the 6th and I got the watch in the pink color. Very excited to get it in the mail so I can set it up with my phone.
You can now get Google Assistant ( Beta 3rd party ) and it works really well. So hopefully an official full version will follow soon. Love this watch but it still has gmail notification issues, and you still can not add your own ringtones, battery life is not as good as previous Gear S3 range...awaiting Samsung to address these.....

With Google maps on the Galaxy watch 4 and watch 4 classic yes you can scroll on Google maps you just have to tap and hold it and then it will change to a different icon and then you can scroll around

I've recently been eyeing this watch 4, like i knew it has a lot more promising features and stuff but, having to charge it everyday is a little turn off. I mean I've been using Mifit for almost a year, i know it's nothing compare to this series but with this smartband last for almost two weeks, I'm kind of getting too comfortable with this cycle. Any encouragement on whether I still need to change or not?

With galaxy watch active2 you can also see the watch face while always on display turn on, so i don't know why you said that in active2 you only see digital clock not the watch face, i think it's because you used custom wallpaper on your active2, if you used custom wallpaper and not the watch faces then you will only see digital clock, i know because i am using active2 dan can still see the watch face with Always on turn on
I have GW4 and it counts the steps when I'm driving and not active, and it shows the amount of calories. Does anyone know what I have to do to get an accurate calorie count?

only bad thing about the watch 4 is the battery 🔋 life.getting about 36 hours versus 48 with watch active 2 but the watch 4 is 10 times better than the watch active 2. user interface buttery smooth 😎

Which battery lasted longer, the Active 2 or the watch 4? I'm reading quite a bit of reviews about watch 4's battery being bad.

Active 2 has A few hours more, but you can do certain things on the watch 4 to increase battery life by limiting stuff

tbh I'd say 512 GB, but you can always get external storage for a lot cheaper than what Apple offers
