One thing I loved about this as a kid interested in music and production, but never fully appreciated until I was an adult, is that - with almost no narration at all - it totally demystified the big, sometimes scary rock and roll persona of KISS and painted it as purely a performance. Back when this aired, I still remember friends' parents prohibiting them from listening to KISS, or saying they were "satanic" or whatever... meanwhile, the same TV show that was teaching me the basic scientific method and encouraging me to use logic and reason and ask questions, was showing me that the whole thing was really a carefully scripted performance requiring a lot of creativity and expertise, all for the sake of entertainment. Brilliant.
@@MrThndrkiss75 i was only about 4 or 5 when i saw this so it probably was my first experience with rock music! My first two were KISS from 321 Contact and Queen from Flash Gordon. They both had "the Sound" that has been with me ever since!🤘❤️🤘
I saw KISS right before the pandemic hit, was a expensive but not as good as I thought id be, David Lee Roth was louder!~ I really wanted to see Gene Simmons do the blood thing!~
I remember seeing this in 1979 on a Saturday afternoon.

I loved this show when I was a little kid in 1980, I watched it every time it aired.
This is Abilene tx I was there
321 contact was one of my favorite shows as a kid. This was my first experience with KISS and have loved them ever since!
Imagine if it wasn't just your first KISS, but also your first rock music. My 6 year old brain melted. 🤘👍

When he started chanting "stand by, all spots to black" I instantly was a 2nd-grader again.
They were playing this segment as late as 1989. Lol
I saw this one evening. I could have sworn it was a 20/20 special or something like that. But this was it. How cool to see again
TV and magazines were all we had back then when it came to seeing anything about your favorite rock bands.
That and album covers.😂
