Bruce did a small KISS convention at a small pub 40 kilometres south of Melbourne Australia….its my local bar and it was a great weekend..but I couldn’t believe Bruce Kulick from KISS is gonna be a mile away from where I live….top fkn bloke he is
Bruce was only one that I could except in Ace's place ! He was awesome in concert without the ego!!! Tommy has no personality and acts like a big shot !!! Love Ace and Bruce !!! Loved the first line up and loved the unmasked lineup!!! Shouldn't have put the makeup back on!!! Just my opinion!!!
I feel like they’ve treated Bruce as a very competent placeholder between the classic-Ace/Vinnie and reunion-Ace periods. He was a pivotal player that kept some musical stability during the 80s and early 90s periods. He deserves more respect and recognition.
I was front row during the hot in the shade concert and couldn't believe how good Bruce was. he made a point every so often to look right at me and Id watch his fingers on the fret board and I was blown away at how easy he made It look.. He deserves to go Into the hall of fame with Ace Peter and Eric Carr.
the guy did great work. he's not my favorite guitar player but he came in strong on Asylum and is probably more than partly responsible for making Revenge and Carnival of Souls respectable Hard Rock lp's
Bruce actually does a good job here expressing how he feels about things. Asserting his side but not aggressively lashing out at anyone. He really *is* a mensch.
Always a pleasure to see and hear Bruce Kulick talking about his career or playing his music, he was a very important and talented member of KISS while in the band. He is an exceptional guitarist and performer. Thank you, Bruce, for all of the great entertainment that you have given us. Good luck in whatever you have planned in the future. ❤
Bruce.is truly a class act. The 80s KISS was my band for sure. I became a fan in 79 and grew to love everything. The 80s, that was my growing up and becoming ever more deeply invested in it all. Then the early 90s Revenge tour (the hottest musical version)... Bruce throughout it all... A true team player. 🤘🏼🖖🏼🤟🏼
I had the pleasure to go to a radio event in Dallas Texas in the early 90's and was approached by Bruce. He walked up to me and we chatted about guitars and KISS. He then asked Eric Singer to join our conversation. What a great person. During that same event Paul and Gene looked at me and just kind of turned up their nose to me and the others attending the event. Bruce kind of rolled his eyes and said "Don't worry about them." I'm so glad I had an opportunity to meet an artist that truly is down to earth, kind and welcoming. and Oh yeah, Bruce led KISS through the 80's - 90's with his stellar guitar skills. God Bless You Bruce Kulick
I would love to have a friend like Bruce. The is a sweet guy who would not hurt a fly. He did not get the credit he deserved for being a part of the band in those hard times when KISS needed a man like him and I'm not talking only about him being a great guitar player. People like him bring peace and don't allow chaos to spread. Bruce is just great and it hurts me as a KISS fan that he did not get even invited to MSG. I did not care about Ace or Peter but Bruce was always great, never threw sh... at P&G and I bet he has some spicy stories to tell but he will not do it. He has principles and shows his love for the band. Bruce was not treated with the respect he deserved but for me he is the best and not only because he knows how to play great riffs but also because he is just a great guy
@wbfwbl6434 You are correct to a point. He always received it from the fans. Sadly he didn't get it from the control freaks - Gene and Paul. They seemed to have liked his brother, Bob Kulick, more. 12 years in KISS, to me, suffering through Gene and Paul is an impressive accomplishment.
I dunno... I've heard he can be extremely violent with his friends. As well as stealing any loose change or money he sees lying around in their homes. And don't get me started on what I've heard about his bizarre bathroom antics whenever he visits friends' homes.
Yeah, they all seem a bit egotistical and self-absorbed - listening to their interviews and how the all bash each other makes me less of a fan of them as people. Loved KISS as a kid, but the drama! Surprised the original lineup remained together for as long as they did.
Even though Vinnie made some great contributions to some KISS songs, the band would have been better if they just hired Bruce rather than Vinnie. It would have saved a ton of headaches.
Been a Kiss fan since 1976, when I was 12. Never got to see them with makeup. Saw them in 85 and 87 with Bruce. Great shows. I love Ace, his songs were always different. But, Bruce is the best guitarist they ever had. He could play any era, any thing. No massive ego, no drama, just play things right.
Me too. I was 13 years old when the Animalize Live video was first broadcast on Mtv. I Watched it knowing very little about the Bruce/Eric era and even less about the makeup era. BUT- I did somehow know that Bruce and Eric were not the originals. Didnt matter to me. Ive been a HUGE KISS fan ever since.
I always said Bruce meant a lot to the band when he took over as lead guitarist, he deserves to be acknowledged for the work he did on the Kiss albums ,
Bruce Kulick is my hero. Has been for a really long time. I love to watch interviews with him because of how gracefully he handles difficult questions. His Integrity is truly inspiring. If we can all handle ourselves the way he does then I believe the world would be a kinder gentler place. Rock On BK 🤘
Absolutely! The real fans love Bruce! Him and Eric Carr were were just as important as Ace and Peter in my opinion! ..and ateast they never had to dress as Ace and Peter to be accepted!
My first Kiss concert was in '84 at the mid south coliseum. In Memphis,TN. Bruce kulick had just taken over for Mark St. John who was the original guitarist. Off the Animalize record, Kiss put on a great show that night like always! Bruce played great too! KISS NATION!!!!!!!
Bruce and Eric were my favorite era of KISS. The music was the absolute best. I was a huge fan as a young boy in the 70’s. The fire and blood and Ace’s guitar catching fire. The rising drum kit with the fighting cats on it was tremendous. But as a 15 year old learning to play guitar…watching DIAL Mtv in 1985 and seeing Tears are Falling in the top 10 every single day and trying to play the song. Those are the days I’ll never forget.
I agree. How do you not honor the entire band and all former members? Kiss wouldn't be here without Vinnie, Bruce, Mark, Eric Carr. It's very disrespectful to those guys and the fans. We don't ask for much. But to not honor them and get off the stage without a thank you? Well, gene n Paul are gene n Paul.
Exactly. Like Bruce said, they easily could've done a video montage that honored and respected every member and the entirety of the history of the band.
I am able to see it from their view though as well. The later members weren’t part of creating the band and the initial legacy. I do agree the later guys should have been at least honored. Mostly Eric Carr
Your exactly right, that's what Peter Criss and Ace put with forever!!!! Narcissistic sociopath asshole greedy bastards, fact!!! Bruce understands that now!!!! 🤷
@robertfisher4689 .What is a Cat to do..I can't watch t.v or listen to the radio.. ( Woke ) So sometimes I play it Jethro Bodine..Back to the 6th grade..For some piece of mind
I respect Bruce and he was so honest in this interview. I had the opportunity to meet Bruce and he was such a nice guy.I shook his hand and thanked him for his time in kiss.Bruce is definitely a stand up guy.We love ❤️ you Bruce !
So KISS could have done the first night at MSG with the standard show from the Tour and on the last night bring EVERYBODY out and let it RIP! Go out in a Blaze! No make up, just having a Blast!
Crazy Nights was an incredibly good album and Bruce's playing was freaking beautiful on it. Unforgettable riffage. I hope Bruce is having a completely amazing life. :)
Bruce seems like a genuine, honest person. Technically, he is also a better musician than most other members of Kiss. As a song writer? Tough to say, there are some Kiss songs where he is credited and they sound pretty good to me, but there is also stuff I don’t care for that much.
They “could” learn a lot if they would come down off of their high horses and exercise a little humility and teachableness, but their overly large heads won’t allow them to.
I love Bruce! He was the best Kiss had to offer us fans! Such a class act, such an amazing guitarist! I met him several times at convention’s and he was such a genuinely great guy. Bruce, you were my Ace Frehley, I was too young to ever see Ace live growing up, but I saw you live and you blew me away, you were my favorite! ❤
Ace and Peter in the original lineup was my favorite KISS era, I went to their concert in 77' ....enjoyed the hell out of it, then life happened and I grew up and fell away to raise my family. KISS is still my childhood fantasy, wannabe a rocker band.
Bruce is such a stand-up guy. Totally professional and never that I've heard did anybody dirty. After all that Gene and Paul did to kinda push him out and he still speaks highly of them. Very classy. Keep rockin Bruce.
I discovered KISS when Bruce and Eric Carr were in the band. That’s my favourite era of KISSTORY. Bruce deserves a lot more credit. A lovely genuine guy. He doesn’t have a bad word to say. Respect
Bruce is a class act. Great guitarist and songwriter. Was so important to helping Kiss getting pass Mark St. John inability to play on the *Animalized" tour. Total disrespect from Kiss towards Bruce
Bruce is such a standout guy. A true professional and gentleman. Met him coming back from Las Vegas, and he was generous with his time. No airs of anything but coolness. Best wishes to Bruce on his future endeavors.
How Grand Funk can even exist w/o Mark Farner is and will forever be unthinkable. That's like Humble Pie w/o Steve Marriot or Thin Lizzy w/o Phil Lynott.
KISS royally screwed Bruce! His fit with KISS all those years was perfect! Great guitarist who respected Paul and Gene’s leadership while providing brilliant guitar playing! He willingly stepped aside for KISS’s reunion and 1st farewell tour yet when it came time to carry on with a non - original KISS guitar player they pick Tommy Thayer over Bruce! Bruce knew all the old songs as evidenced on KISS Alive 3. He was in KISS for 12+ years, yet was snubbed for a former band employee!
Thats REALLY sh**y that he wasnt invited. Shame on the band for not ATLEAST inviting him to the last show. Im not suprized tho. Gene and Paul have really shown their true colors over these past few years.
Bruce is totally right! And for me, Kiss should be ashamed for not honoring all past members. They are all a big part of Kisstory. I think it was a missed opportunity. Watching their last show on ppv was a huge disappointment to me. Just the same show as all End of the Road shows. The fans (and past members) deserved more imho. And about the big announcement??? Kiss Avatars... Nothing for me.
Bruce didn't say:"KISS should be ashamed". And when he was talking about the "missed opportunity" he emphasized, that's what fans were telling him. Bruce was diplomatic.
@@HappyMachorino-bd8no I'm sorry. You're right. But I was not quoting Bruce. It was my opinion. Changed it! Thanks for your reaction. Should have chosen my words more carefully.
My favorite Era of kiss was 83 to 94 . Bruce all the way. I was really turned on to kiss when I was 15 1985 Fell diehard. Then rediscovered the old stuff. Loved it. But the Bruce Era was my favorite. I was so pissed after the unplugged MTV show. The writing was on the wall
I am excited about the opportunity to see The Bruce Kulick Band tour a set of KISS tunes from his era. Aside from that, I’m all set with KISS. I have my records and DVD’s and TH-cam. I’m good.
Bruce is class, Paul and PISS played the last show together. It was pretty disrespectful for Paul not to mention any former members and Bill Acoin or Bogart even Sean Delaney from the stage at the end of the show.
I think the big reason Kiss didn't bring the past members on the tour is...honestly, some large portion of the concertgoers were there for the songs, the spectacle...and didn't even realize that Eric/Tommy were "replacements", probably didn't know the names Eric/Tommy, and would generally be confused if other members were up there. As a big Kiss fan, I would have LOVED to see Bruce, Vinny, Ace/Peter, even Mark St. John up there, like a great tribute to the past. But for the vast majority of concertgoers, they probably see 1 "cat" and 1 "spaceman" and that's good enough.
Nothing against Ace, as he was the original Kiss axman, or the other axmen, but Bruce was always my favorite of all the Kiss string slingers. He's an extremely well-seasoned, well-rounded player, and he can shred like a beast when he has to. I've seen him live and he's every bit as good as Lynch or Demartini.
bruce has forever been a class act never a negative comment about anyone always shows respect my second favorite kiss member ever behind only eric carr who i was lucky enough to meet in dallas texas on the hot in the shade tour in 1990
Great interview. I too think they should have at least acknowledged the previous band members, even if it was just a 5 minute speech from Paul, or photos/videos on the stage. I watched the live PPV of the last gig till 4 o'clock in the morning, in the UK, and that was after a 7 hour shift at work that finished at midnight!
The best way for kiss to leave off on the last concert would have been to have ace play a few songs, Peter sing Beth, Bruce in for a few songs, vining Vincent on lick it up, and pay homage to Eric Carr o with a video montage. That would have been a class act.
And let Eric and Tommy sing one song each from Monster or Sonic Boom. I think that "All for the glory" is not a good song, but a really great one. Eric has played on 4 albums, Tomi, starting with "Hot in the shade", is somehow present on each subsequent album, either as a guitarist or as a co-writer. And Gene also plagiarized the Domino riff from the Black n Blue song "Nasty, Nasty", which in turn has Gene's co-authorship, because there appears a riff from "Only You" from Elder, the vocalist of Black said about it 'n'Blue
That would have been epic. Also a photo of Vinnie's replacement who also died. Fans have requested that the group did a tribute to Eric even though the classic line up performed songs from Post Make-Up era during their reunion/farewell tours during the early 2000's.
Agree with Bruce - Total missed opportunity. Die hard fan, thick and thin, since 1976, and I was at the last show - Big DISAPPOINTMENT. I knew too that there would be no jam session, other members invited, but I expected something other than some Avatar hype that will most likely be a flop. Sorry this happened to you Bruce, you were great in Kiss in a time that was really special. Some of the songs of your era are amazing. Keep Rockin Bruce!!
When Peter and Ace haven't played with the other two delusional greedy assholes, it was over years ago!!! Bruce is a great man and guitarist, and Peter and Ace were the real talent and heart and soul of Kiss!!!
Bruce is a true professional! Ace had a great sound for kiss ! And was a great guitarist *** But I think bruce was the best musically guitarist that kiss ever had < Him and ace were the best
I actually started in the Mark St. John era, but bruce was there too! Then i back traced the catalog! My "kisstory" stared in 1985 at the tender age of 15!😊
I personally feel that Eric Carr, Bruce Kulick, Eric Singer and Tommy Thayer should have been inducted in the Hall of Fame. The RRHF really really dropped the ball.
For years I would see Bruce at the Winter NAMM show in Anaheim. He is truly one of the nicest "Rock Stars" you will ever meet. His Brother Bob was the same way, down to Earth and genuine.
You Bruce : is why I continued following KISS . When they let you go an went back into makeup I stopped . I haven’t bought an album since Tommy was brought in . I loved every era except Tommy.
Bruce is a true lady as we say over here. A class act. I met him in puerto rico in a tv show that he came with mr speed a kiss tribute band. Really friendly.
When Paul calls someone a "Mensch", this is a great honour. Once he called Keith Leroux (Consultant for social media) a "Mensch", too. And Keith looked very proud. So does Bruce🌹
There are also quite a few Yiddish words in the German language (e.g. vermasseln). I was not sure, is it original German or original Yiddish. But Bruce said "Yiddish".
Mensch (Yiddish: מענטש, mentsh, from Middle High German Mensch, from Old High German mennisco; akin to Old English human being, man) means "a person of integrity and honor". According to Leo Rosten, a mensch is "someone to admire and emulate, someone of noble character.
Ive always thought that If you are gonna play for Kiss then you have to be super good and Bruce and Eric Carr are the only two that have made the grade. Thanks Bruce you are as good as any of the other members.
Bruce is a class act. All the best to him.

🥁 drums!!! Sorry
@@kevinchandler179 definitely entitled to your opinion, but I most certainly disagree as many others do

They could pay Tommy less and yeah, Bruce got screwed just like other past members. It's a greedy and seedy industry.
That's because Bruce has too much class and respect to ever be a Fake Frehley.
Thats REALLY sh**y that he wasnt invited. Shame on the band for not ATLEAST inviting him to the last show. Im not suprized tho. Gene and Paul have really shown their true colors over these past few years.
Read “ Eric Carr story “ - find out about Paul and Gene.
Bruce = RESPECT !! ❤
Bruce is such a class act!
I know business is business but the fans expected some Kisstory that last night. Even the last bow, hand in hand would have been cool.
Bruce, Love u man! You helped SAVE Kiss after the Makeup!! Saw you guys many times during the 90's and you all were Awesome!! Keep Doing You Bruce!!
@@HappyMachorino-bd8no9:40 he said that he felt it was a missed opportunity by the band.

This is Bruce. He said, but it's what the fans told him. In another interview: Paul is a diva. No he's not a diva. This is Bruce.....
Met Bruce at the KISS convention in Atlanta 1995. ⚡⚡
Bruce is a class act! \m/
I am excited about the opportunity to see The Bruce Kulick Band tour a set of KISS tunes from his era. Aside from that, I’m all set with KISS. I have my records and DVD’s and TH-cam. I’m good.
Bruce Kulick on KISS Goes on Record. Brilliant headline.
Mark died in 2007
We love you Bruce!! Such a stand up guy and a total class act. Best Guitarist KISS ever had.
Nothing against Ace, as he was the original Kiss axman, or the other axmen, but Bruce was always my favorite of all the Kiss string slingers. He's an extremely well-seasoned, well-rounded player, and he can shred like a beast when he has to. I've seen him live and he's every bit as good as Lynch or Demartini.
bruce has forever been a class act never a negative comment about anyone always shows respect my second favorite kiss member ever behind only eric carr who i was lucky enough to meet in dallas texas on the hot in the shade tour in 1990
What do you expect from Paul and Gene. I saw the revenge tour. They couldn't even do a memorial video to play at the concerts for Eric Carr.
Theyre last show blew chunks
When Peter and Ace haven't played with the other two delusional greedy assholes, it was over years ago!!! Bruce is a great man and guitarist, and Peter and Ace were the real talent and heart and soul of Kiss!!!
Great interview!
BK is a real dude. Thanks for sharing this video
Love Bruce. Saw him in Denmark at the first shows with him at the animalize tour. He was Awesome
I met Bruce a quite few years ago at the Arlington Texas Guitar Show. He was really friendly and gave me a Grand Funk pick.
A perfectly grounded dude to fit in w/Kiss,very talented and exudes class, wish him the best also respect Tommy Thayer very much as well.
KISS wouldn't be KISS without Bruce's place in KISStory. Thank you, Bruce.
Bruce is a pro. Any band is lucky to have him.
Kiss with Bruce was an epic time! Such a beautiful time n memories of high school. I got into kiss in 1976, yet I was a teen ager in the 80s
When Paul calls someone a "Mensch", this is a great honour. Once he called Keith Leroux (Consultant for social media) a "Mensch", too. And Keith looked very proud. So does Bruce🌹
Mensch is also German for human and a person. But in that sense it's also slang for a person with integrity and honor 🙂
Love your comment. Agree wholeheartedly.
@@redtape73 thanks
Bruce is such a class act. He is such a profession and humble.
BRUCE your a stand up guy
