Short of revolution, there's not much else you -can- do, aside from the usual: keep the pressure up on politicians, try and convince family if you have any in swing states to not vote R while this charlatan is representing the party. Unfortunately, for many, it's less about making the better choice, and more about making sure the "other side" doesn't win.
I know people get sick of hearing it, but it's even more true now than ever: the midterms coming up are *incredibly important*. Republican congressmen calling for impeachment is the most telling sign for me. When the rats start jumping ship, you know it's sinking.
I'm sure you have a nuanced understanding of American politics and all, but establishment conservatives (i.e. The ones taking lobbyist money sent from corporate interests) have always opposed trump. Trump is a wildcard that cannot be controlled. You may have liked Hillary, you may have liked Sanders, but the truth of the matter is this. Hillary thrives on corporate greed and government expansionism, and Bernie wants to steal the economic viability of future generations to illicit votes of those who made poor decisions in becoming debtors in a system of of decreasing higher educational worth. It was unlikely that he was going to be removed in the first place. When the story was written it was under the impression that impeachment won’t, but should, happen. It did and we know how it turned out

Because in the future we’ll look back at the senators that voted against removal from office and recognize that it was the wrong thing to do.

Anyway my friend, in my country, when a government official is busted for a crime, they lose their position, get fined or jail time depends on the severity of the crime. Guess what? That also shows they did the wrong thing, brings it to the public, and future generations still gonna be able to look back and say "yeah that was the wrong thing to do"
So yeah, I don't have any understanding about what impeachment is, because that's not a thing in my country, and so far from your reasoning, I still don't see why it's even a thing to begin with. Why not punish the wrongdoing now? Is American generations later just decide not to learn from this if you guys punish him now?

He doesn't directly denounce white supremacy because he's supported by it, he protects companies over workers, he allowed Covid to infect Americans more than necessary, he had a porn star scandal, multiple instances of misusing campaign donations, he's been impeached, he's continuously attempted to de-value the American presidental election, and that's not even HALF. It's ridiculous.

Trump could not lead a pack of dogs to a pile of meat on the floor! I shudder to think what it will be like as November rolls around and Trump's only out for his crimes is to either get elected again or take down the country, because he has a good start on dismantling the country already.

I've been watching quite a few older episodes is last week tonight usually after the new ones come on and I watch them and then algorithm suggest these and it's scary to think how little time has passed and how much has happened in that time. I remember going through Netflix in mid 2019 and I have this odd feeling that it was hard to go and listen to NE stand up comedy that didn't take place in the Trump era because that's the only thing I need relief from right now. It's sad that I miss less than a year ago but what's happening right now is necessary we have to fight and we can't stop! I wrote an essay on him back in the day, one of the things that stood out the most is, McCain cannot raise his arms higher than his waist without being in excruciating pain because he was bound by his wrists and hung from them, behind his back for months.

I'm a Christian, but holy shit, why do we let people make policy based on religious beliefs? It's a huge conflict of interest. If you can't separate religion and public policy in your mind, you need to reccuse yourself, at least for that policy decision. And I would respect the hell out of that.
I have some beliefs that may not be compatible with secular public policy. But if I want those beliefs to be represented, I go to church, not my senator.
