Zac has been my favourite drummer for a very long time. So nice to see him get the recognition he deserves! He’s the reason I started crashing my rides!
@@emmanuelgalvan9280think he meant emo/pop-punk/alt rock heavy hitting stuff and new-wave/fusion/latin based groove stuff. There’s a pretty big difference in style and technique in the drums from their first several albums to the last several. Zac is undoubtedly very skilled at playing an array of different genres and common time grooves can be highly complex too.
Zac is severely underrated, so I love seeing him on segments like this and people giving him his props! He's always been my fav drummer. Tasteful stylistic choices, groove, and power for daysss!!!
@@chaseparkermusic No, they're saying Zac was the drummer from the start, hence why his name went first on the list. Ilan Rubin played drums on the self-titled album, then Aaron Gillespie played drums on the self-titled tour
Guy has always been a beast but the last couple albums have had some pretty incredible percussion. Really taken it to another level. They sounded so good at MSG it blew me away.
Saw them play live at House of Blues in Vegas in 2006. Such a sick show and the energy was unbelievable. Zac’s drumming live sounded so good, I can only imagine what he sounds like live now
❤❤❤❤ I love hearing them separately as much as I love them together. They are all superb musicians in their own right, and of course together they are our babies but......I love stuff like this!! ❤❤❤❤
I've seen Zac live a few times with Paramore and he's good. He's really good. If you're a drummer and you get the chance to go see Paramore, just do it.
They feel and sound so damn good. I recently switched from K Customs (Dark Ride, Hybrid hats) to Istanbul Signatures (Mel Lewis ride, Joey Waronker hats) and they blew me away. My ride is so responsive I don’t even play with a crash anymore.
@@ZacharyWThomas I just got a 30th Anniversary 24" ride - I couldn't believe the sounds that came out of that 1 cymbal. Now I'm seriously considering the 16" 30th Hats, 20" or 22" Traditional Dark crash and a 22" Dry Dark Brilliant. They make some crazy good cymbals.
I'm amazed so many pro are DW hardwear fanboys and their drum brand let them use them, ludwig made great hardwear and pedals. There are loads of pedal equal or better than 9000's
Rim shots… Also playing ride cymbals for crashes. It might call for bigger sticks. He probably goes through the 5Bs quickly too which explains 3 stick holders on the kit.
Badass drummer, love paramore. Seen them twice. But man, I wish you had a better kit lol I realize that’s all you need, no doubt, but you’re on a world tour, I’d have a bigger/funner kit. Nothing crazy, maybe another floor tom, a side snare, a couple more cymbals, maybe a second set of hats, maybe some stacks.. something… It’s like you’re playing in a small pub for beer money, while you’re playing in some of the bigger stages in the world. You’re just sitting back there, while everyone is dancing and running around on stage. might as well build a space ship and have a blast! 😅 Maybe it’s jus me tho
As a gear nerd and a fan of Zac and Paramore since the final riot, that doesn’t look like an 18” deep bass drum at all. Looks more like a 22x16. if I’m not mistaken the prefab Ludwig Classic Maple is a 13x9, 16x16, and a 22x14. But I’d also find it difficult to believe that Zac doesn’t know his gear. Either way. Interesting to see he’s using the regular 5Bs now. He was on 2B naturalacfor the longest time.

Zac playing two completely different styles of drumming at master levels truly makes him a god.
Dude what do you mean TWO completeltly both ar 4/4, he is a regular drummer.
@@emmanuelgalvan9280 Actually listen to their albums then comment.
@@emmanuelgalvan9280 it's sad u can't appreciate good and tasty drumming cause it's in 4/4, wow :/

At like 15 lol
such a humble underrated guy. love how HE did a tour of his setup and not his drum tech like most guitar rig run downs on other channels. good content
Modern drummer has really been on it lately. I'd love to see a rig rundown for Ronnie Vannucci!
please post the entire clip of zac playing "this is why"
Agreed
Yes please!! 🙏🏻
I know right we don’t need the other clip over laying it let’s hear the man play!!
Such an underrated drummer that deserves so much more recognition
Zac is severely underrated, so I love seeing him on segments like this and people giving him his props! He's always been my fav drummer. Tasteful stylistic choices, groove, and power for daysss!!!
Absolute beast of a drummer. The kit and the cymbals sounds amazing! Hopefully I can catch them live some time in the near future
Same. They're my all-time favorite band and I lost a few chances to see them live. It huts lol.
Zac is an awesome drummer 🤌
What a rad dude. Great episode.
I’ve been waiting years for this
FINALLY
Have been waiting for this video to come out since I heard brand new eyes when I was 12. I’m 27 now
I'm a big fan of Zac but my back hurts every time I see him play 😅
One of the best drummers. The way he place snare in his patterns is so influential for me.
He’s such a good musician. His solo stuff, HalfNoise, is amazing if y’all haven’t checked it out yet
HalfNoise is so good! Great songwriter
greatest band of all fricking time and i will die on this hill
Such a sick drummer! I always found his style very interesting and creative
Zac was a huge influence for me being a preteen/young teen when paramore was really taking off
Guy's a legend. My fave drummer
Paramore was blessed with great drummers from the start. Zac, Ilan and Aaron - all my drumming favourites
@@chaseparkermusicnobody is saying he isn't

My favorite Drummer of all time! Just amazing powerful creative and musical!! Just incredible writing and intensely.
Zac is my favourite drummer 🥁
Guy has always been a beast but the last couple albums have had some pretty incredible percussion. Really taken it to another level. They sounded so good at MSG it blew me away.
Can you do Dominic Howard please!
Yes, pls!!!! (That’s actually a Muse song 😂)
Zac is great! I really loved how versatile he was in the new album, and I loved seeing him play This Is Why. Absolutely underrated- great video.

One of my drum heroes, Zac! 🤘

Zac is Amazing ❤️🇵🇭
thanks for this moder drummer all the kit I have is inspired by Paramore
zach is a virtuoso! even just by the fact that they started playing together since so youngggg
Such an inspiration of mine. He has definitely influenced my playing more than anyone ❤️
Zac playing drums😍😍
Seems super cool and a killer naturally talented drummer!
Legend, great kit

Zac has been a favorite of mine for ages, love to see this! His own project Halfnoise is worth checking out as well
i was at this show
Been waiting this moment! Thanks MD
YESSSSSSSSSSSSS
Finally. And thank you.
So cool!

Great man. Thanks for this episode.
New to Modern Drummer but the Drum Tech World run through was really cool!
Love it! Can you do George Daniel please!
Awesome to see Chris in this video. 🙌
Love Zac!!!
💛🖤💛
Love the Content 💪🏻🥁
Great drummer. Great person. Need to do a Jack Lawless feature next.
I just love Paramore ❤ and zac farro is one of my favourite drummer. Next please do Dom Howard (Muse)
Bello/Magnifico.🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉👑
Cool shirt Zac 😎
Heck yeah! He's the man!
He's playing so creative and always playing for the song (and not to show off his skills) ♥
I LOVE ZAC FARRO 😭😭
This dude has massively influenced millions of drummers across the world, and yet remains a ghost on youtube, come on man!
What a beautiful drumset 😍
please please please next tour kit rundown from John Otto of Limp Bizkit 😘😘
i agree that we need a John Otto kit rundown
Zac!!!!!!!!
nice drum tech rig!
I've seen Zac live a few times with Paramore and he's good. He's really good. If you're a drummer and you get the chance to go see Paramore, just do it.
“The red and yellow maybe wasn’t the best combo” while red seats and yellow lights show behind him
Wanna see the Legend CRAIG REYNOLDS
DW 9000 is the best foot pedal on the market! Nice shout out Zack!

most of us wish we could afford a 7 piece band!
Zac is a dead head too! Awesome 👌
That hihat cutting like a knife
Listen to brand new eyes album and tell me it's not some of the best drumming you've ever heard.
his pocket is TIGHT
very good!, chamem também o chuck comeau!
Istanbul cymbals! Respresent!
I had a porter and Davis. I ended up selling it because the seat was so uncomfortable. I was surprised he said "it's comfortable enough"
Zac is the best! I also second Ronnie Vannucci!
Without zac no paramore
He was also a huge influence! Strange that he’s playing 22” kicks - I couldn’t play anything under a 24 anymore.
I’d love to know what the 57 by his stock holder is for
How does that drum throne work?
Does anyone know what that hihat mic is?
Does anyone knows any channel like this one , but for bass players ?
Anyone know why Zac stoped using a double pedal drum kit
I'm amazed so many pro are DW hardwear fanboys and their drum brand let them use them, ludwig made great hardwear and pedals. There are loads of pedal equal or better than 9000's
What's the first Paramore song that we hear after the drum kit rundown ?
At the 7:47 mark? Caught In the Middle
I hit hard with 7A sticks. And never brake a stick. I think thin sticks have more flex and are less brittle

What is the name of the song 7:48

Does the drum tech EVER clean the cymbals? Asking for a friend. 😉

Bass drum he's saying 18x22? 🤔

The Porter and Davis is “getting popular”…? How many decades does it take for something not being novelty anymore?
