  • Driving from New York toward New Jersey we find out about a small private shelter named Sammy’s Hope in Sayreville, N.J. This is where a group of animal lovers and volunteers from several city shelters joins forces to create this non profit organization so they can save homeless dogs from the overcrowded high kill shelters in their state. Once a dog is with Sammy’s Hope he/she is guaranteed a safe life, veterinary care, proper socialization, and lots of love until the perfect forever family is found and the dog can be safely adopted out. New Jersey faces an overpopulation of abandoned dogs primarily of the bulldog type breeds. We meet Abby and Newton, 2 doggies who kept getting overlooked at this private shelter until one day, human eyes met their soulmutts and it was love at first sight.
This documentary series highlights the amazing, grass-roots work that people are doing to save and improve the lives of dogs in need all over this country. Through their stories and actions, we will show you what change looks like and what the sheer power of will and desire - not just money - can achieve. Throughout the season you see us take part in the actions that are saving dog lives. We volunteer, donate, foster, transport and advocate for new legislation. Every episode will leave the viewer feeling hopeful, inspired, educated and empowered. This is how we affect positive change and create the tipping point in our society: one story at a time.
