Evel was a true AMERICAN DAREDEVIL - I was 10 at the time and had the Evel lunchbox. Still have it today. Great Memories and an AWESOME JOB restoring his truck. 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁Thank you for sharing.
I was fortunate enough to visit the Evel Knievel museum in Topeka KS July of 2023.... Saw all the things from my childhood that my buddies and i all wanted growing up in the 70's. If you are passing thru take a couple hours to go visit.
I grew up glued to the TV screen during the Evel era watching his famous extreme jumps. He was one of my heros as a kid. A gigantic THANK YOU to the team that resurrected this incredible piece of Evel history. God Bless!
I remember this truck and trailer parked behind the old Jerrys Hot Rods in Clearwater Fl. I used to run into Evil at the clubs from time to time in the early 2000's....
My Dad, Bob Rogers, was a painter at Mack Western. He designed and did all the original pin striping on the truck by hand. Have an old black and white photo of him and all the other guys who worked on it as it rolled off the line :)
This brought tears for me, so many great memories, the excitement and some of the folks I shared these with being gone now.... WOW! What a beautiful and important piece of Americana that showed just how absolutely EXCEPTIONAL we, this nation truly is.
I watched a video of when it was discovered and pulled out for the first time in a while and was blown away to discover I'd been driving right past it for years. I knew where it was the moment they showed the sign in front of the building. Tucked away in the back lot of a body/custom shop, hidden in plain sight, but with the overgrowth and fencing it wasn't visible from the road. lol And it made perfect sense since Evel lived just a few miles from the place. I met him briefly on one occasion when I worked at Lokey Mercedes in Clearwater Florida because he had a burned out marker light in his Benz. Swapped it out right there in the in the drive and he was on his way. An absolute legend to me growing up. I'm glad to see this history live on.
I was surprised there was no footage of Mark from Shipping Wars hauling it from there. I thought for sure they would show that. I wonder how much of the original truck they were able to save because the cab was completely shot, they obviously used a donor truck. Maybe the frame is original.
I remember seeing the video of when she was pulled out of the weeds. Thank you so much for restoring such an iconic piece of Americana and honoring an American hero. This just brought a tear to and old trucker's eye.
God Bless you for this restoration of a piece of Americana! Loved growing up, making backyard jumps with my buddies and we’d pretend we were EK! Legend!

I saw a baby blue Mack cabover like this one at a truck stop in Nebraska in July this year. I just stopped and stared. It was beautiful! Last year, we drove over and visited Evel and Robbie's graves in Butte when visting my sisterinlaw in Missoula.
