Back in the old days I had 2 friends with VW Westfalias. One had the fridge blocking the door, the other had the fridge on the other side behind the driver. The general consensus was it was nice to have a the fridge not blocking the door. Looks like a fun project though!
Van is looking good. It'll get there ;) Having the engine Remapped makes a big difference too, my T5 goes like a rocket ship. Webasto, Erbespacher and Planar heaters are excellent.
One bit of advice regarding the solar panel - I suggest that you add a small air diverter at the front edge to minimise any wind getting under the panel and possibly ripping it off.
I'll look in to that... like I said I've done this method on smaller panels with no problem. But this is a lot bigger panel so I think I need to look into it! cheers
Try to pull out the fridge to the front side not to the inner and outer side.... You can reach it from both, inside and outside and the installation should be easier.... saw this solution in other vans... Anyway... good job! and please let me know the sticking isolation material inside... looks interesting. BR Michael
Thats the link to the stuff I got in the end... like I say I didn't use it for the main van. I used the 'KingsSpan' foam... but this stuff seemed super easy to work with... and would save you a lot of time. The 'r' value isn't as good... and coast more but sooooooo easy it to fit!
Just rent your gear at some surf school where you’re going dude! Just kidding. Thanks, have fun. (Have a look at Greg Virgoe’s TH-cam channel about van conversion.) edit.....see you found him.
Hi Ben. Continue the good work! Next year I will be studying in the UK and the cold weather will not stop me. Can you pls tell me the range of wetsuits you are using in the UK. Thanks a lot

yep.. the plan is to have it in the middle so should be alright. But will play around with a few designs before finalising.
Ben, any update on the van conversion? would love to see the progress!
Nice...Vans are full of possibilities!
