I love broccoli, carrots, zucchini and every kind of mushrooms. Also I grow several kinds of cabbage and pok choi in my garden. Therefore I eat it a lot. It‘s soooooo delicious. But to name my favorite I‘d say it’s broccoli.
"to minimize the mess" pull apart hack was the best tip I've heard from a TH-cam chef in years. Makes me looking forward to cooking this even more exciting.
Had 3 bags just sitting in the fridge..made this for my large family, including 5 grands ages 8-12. Those kids ate every bit and asked for more. Everyone enjoyed it. Thank You so much!!
Health Tip: cut broccoli at least 40 minutes before cooking. That allows the enzyme in broccoli to create sulforaphane, an anti-oxidant, anti-inflammatory, and anti-cancer compound.
Every single dish I watch you make, makes me salivate and gives me another reason to go to the central market to shop for fresh veggies, get back home and COOK! Thanks, Wil, for another simple, delicious-looking and nutritious dish. #ilovebroccoli
@@YEUNGMANCOOKING Actually, I think just about every aspect of your videos is outstanding. Your choice of colors and equipment, the tone of your voice, and your camera work all combine to make a very sophisticated presentation. You ooze great taste.☺️
I made this for lunch today for myself and it tasted like restaurant quality for home. You are such a wonderful chef and nice person that I plan to invest in one of your cookbooks. Thanks so much for inspiring me to make some authentic and healthy dishes without any experience in Asian cuisine.
I love your direct, no-nonsense way of presenting the dishes you make. Plus, they are delicious!! Easy and delicious - it doesn’t get any better than that! Thanks for sharing your recipes and techniques! ❤️
Dude! I just love how you give extra tips like about the broccoli stalk for use in salads or whatever later. I've always eaten the broccoli stalk, but yeah...great suggestion. Also, how you describe the dish after you cook it & describe how the ingredients "act" in the finished product. Absolutely EXQUISITE! *chef kiss*
Thanks so much! This sauce was delicious! I doubled the recipe because I added onions, oyster and white mushrooms to the broccoli. Appreciate getting turned onto dark soy sauce too. I shop in Asian markets often and didn’t notice it before. Great to know about potato starch as thickener too!
I just made this, and it was super-easy and delicious. I don't know if I will ever take the time to make your chili oil recipe, but I'm sure that would make it even more delicious. I used store-bought chili oil, olive oil, and cornstarch, and I was happy! Thank you for showing us how to make simple good food.
Broccoli stems are tender on the inside ~ new helpful information ~ I will be using these in the future. Thank U, W.Y. ~ and super recipe - with your instructions, so much importance is on the detail/s 🧐 simple & devine - more confidence here 🧄🌶️🥦🍋🧅
You have the most incredible recipes, Will. Simple and so packed with flavour. I watch many recipes and can see right away that flavour is lacking, but with yours, it's never the case. Your cooking style and mostly your method make the food you cook so tasty. A pleasure to watch you cook!
I made this tonight and it was very tastee!!! I just got a little confused at soy sauce and dark soy sauce. But I used my instinct and it came out great. Will make again and again. Thank you❤
Yes always chop the stalk once it’s peeled and add it to the florets 💚 also I often add a little mirin instead of sugar since that adds some tang and sweetness and I would pan toast the sesame seeds at the start in the dry pan and set aside for the final flourish 💚 thanks for the great vid!
With broccoli, you can peel away the outer tough skin just as easily as you can cut it off. I like peeling better because there is less waste of the good part of the stem.
great recipe. i love when "throwaway" side dishes are given new life with seasonings and oils. i hope we see more simple recipes like this. Still can't believe Wil didn't go to a culinary school. he must have learned to cook from his mother.
It's great that you mentioned to eat the stalk, many people throw that away. If the broc is fresh enough even the crust is eatable and enjoyable. To be honest, that stalk never survives longer than it takes me to cook, I eat it during the prep work. (chewing one right now while I'm cooking your recipe)
You always have such great sauces! Can't wait! BTW, I always use the broccoli stalk in a slaw. Throw it through the food processor with some cabbage, Sprouts, and carrots and make a little seedy/gingery dressing... Love keeping a slaw for sides in the summer!
This time of year I like to grate my left over broccoli stalks with cabbage and carrots to make a "broccoli slaw" with a pre-made bottle of dressing. I like to also add sunflower seeds too, if I have them.
Wow, this Broccoli with Garlic Sauce recipe looks absolutely delicious! 😍 I love how simple and easy it is to make, yet it looks so flavorful and healthy. Your step-by-step instructions and clear explanations make it easy for everybody. I can't wait to try this recipe out for myself and impress my family with my newfound cooking skills. Thank you for sharing this amazing recipe with us!
I had everything on hand except chili oil for this recipe but I decided to go for it anyway. It was amazing! I cooked it for meal prepping but ate almost half out of the pan 😂 I'm sure it would be even better if I had added the chili oil and look forward to getting some and doing it next time for sure!
I once found white chubby worms in the crown of my broccoli head, I bought from the grocery store, while I was chopping it. So now, before I chop up a head of broccoli, I soak the broccoli head in water vinegar mixture.
tried this earlier with limited ingredients available (no dark soy sauce, potato starch, chili oil, and sesame seed) and it still came out delicious!.. I will try to incorporate beef or chicken next time, as well as the ingredients I missed)
Thanks for this idea. BTW, I have one of your cookbooks and I truly read the Introduction and About The Book pages. I'm sending my husband to the Teashop you have listed in your cookbook. I hope the sisters are still there! Thanks.
Awesome, I sure don't like Brussel sprouts, but love broccoli. For some reason watching this, I thought while listening to your explanation I thought of Earnest Hemingway. His prose was so sparse, so pointed and efficient. Now that was pretty spooky, but there it is . Love your videos. Thanks.
I'm recovering from a virus and your video is making me suddenly hungry. I love the crunch of fresh broccoli stalk too - our family ritual is to share it out as we're prepping.
LAY HO THERE 👋🏻 man, that fresh broccoli crunch is just irresistible! What are your fav veggies to stir fry?
Definitely going on the menu this week!
Looks absolutly delicious!! 😅Our fav stir fry veggies are probably Pimientos, zucchini’s, cherry tomatoes and mushrooms.
This looks amazing.
What would you do with summer squash?
I love broccoli, carrots, zucchini and every kind of mushrooms. Also I grow several kinds of cabbage and pok choi in my garden. Therefore I eat it a lot. It‘s soooooo delicious. But to name my favorite I‘d say it’s broccoli.
Thanks for the broccoli cutting tip. ❤

Love how calm this video is. No loud shouting, music or unnecessary video cuts.

It’s literally the best part
I got that broccoli slaw down to a science.
Always healthy and delicious

This mans commentary and production skill is so high. Much appreciation!

My favorite broc-star is Metal-leak-a. And that tip to minimize the exploding floret mess is straight fire!
😆🤭👌🏻
0:51 i was so relived Wil didn't throw away the broccoli stalks. I have to suppress screams when i see people wasting foods in cooking videos.
Absolutely
My favorite!❤️ You’re an amazing chef!

The florets have less nutrients than the stalks. Use them for cream of broccoli soup. You tube
That is simple. Thanks Will. Take care
🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻

Love it. Keep it simple simple. Thanks yet again, Wil! 🙏 My fave veggies? Hmmm...any/all. I am vegetarian.
I suppose it's not fair to choose just one favourite 😎
Yes. Hard to choose just one, especially when you love them all.
Between how this dude talks and the music I think I'm pregnant now! Broccoli looks good too
That looks so delicious. I loved this video
It is a good one for sure 🙌🏻🥳🥦

Garlic sauce was so delicious I made more for my tofu. Added a lot of flavor (and fun) to my stir fry! Thanks for such delicious recipes!

I finely dice the broccoli stalks and add them as green filler in my Vegetable Fried Rice. Great in soup as well.
Looks absolutely delicious.

Great Broccoli Stir Fry !😊
I've seen other recipes for broccoli in garlic sauce on TH-cam. This is is the only one that does not require buying many sauces.
Oh, I had no other choice but to subscribe! Well done video and a very simple approach to an awesome dish... Thank you sir!

Do you peel it first, or use the stalk skin and all?
@@margaretmarshall3645 I peel and trim as needed. Usually just the base of the stalk is tough.
Wow! I swear you read my mind. I was looking to make this and you did it. This is perfect. I love the white plate. Is the plate linked?
I’ve never felt so relaxed and hungry at the same time before! 😂
Thanks
Oh wow! You rock 🙌🏻🤩

That looked amazing, I'm a little curious as to why you didn't wash the broccoli as I've always been taught to wash it first.
I once found white chubby worms in the crown of my broccoli head, I bought from the grocery store, while I was chopping it. So now, before I chop up a head of broccoli, I soak the broccoli head in water vinegar mixture.
Yes broccoli 🥦 must always be washed...running water on it ..and separate the florets...🙌
I put it into a bowl with salted water for 5 minutes before chopping it.
I LOVE THIS BROCCOLI!!! AND WILL MAKE IT TONIGHT. I already grated garlic and ginger. YAMMM
Yummmm 🤤 Enjoy!
Cooked this to go with sweet and sour pork for mother in law 95th bday. Huge success. Many thanks.
