The walking bass... I love it and am finally learning it through this video. And...love your attitude....so cool, so modest, yet a consummate musician who obviously loves what he's done. Thank you so much!!
you are my idol!!!!! just the best jazz and funk piano player i've ever seen.....there are now words in our galaxy to describe your piano playing and my feelings when i'm listening to your music!
Ah!!!! When you started playing this I freaked out! We did something similar as the opening to my summer jazz camp performance. It was pretty awesome, just like this video!

Whooooooah! I'm watching it 6th time right now. Legendary, I totally adore this piece. Especially an outstanding bass line at the 'swingy' beginning! Looking forward to the main version!
@ Yes a superb piece of virtuoso solo jazz piano from boogie woogie, stride and just having great fun. I particularly like the reference to cocktail piano lounge stuff at the end. Totally enjotable.
It's the Tascam CVPiano - it's free and a google should find it for you. It's a surprisingly realistic piano VST for it's filesize and price. Despite having several commercial alternatives, its the one I use most often.
Wow - Lets celebrate the (allmost extincted) real Jazz !!!! JonWill you are a magician - simply a perfect anthological performance. With wonder ,bravery, fun and grace. Fabulous. Since when angels are allowed to play in Earth ? Listen to the great genius jazz young pianist Robert Dimbleby.(And if you like a litlle inovative piano classical music, me too.Start with my "Gigne" no.54 played on a px-330 one too.) All the very best for you always Jonn Will.Yan Ay, dreammer creator and pianist.
I still love the groove in this after 10+ hearings. I want to play it. I don't have the time to work it out myself and would be happy to pay for someone to make sheet music (either if someone transcribes it or if Jonathan or someone else re-records the piece plugged into one of those notation programs. If I got the sheets I would be happy to share them for free, e.g. put them on Jonathan's website. He deserves support like that because he gives lots of stuff for free. interested in helping to realise this idea.
AWESOME Jam :))) really fun to play it :) love it... you're great! I'm playing it by ear and it goes great, I'll upload cover for this as soon as possible :)
Great blues! It sound like all you're really using is blues scale and "the" blues licks (which normally I don't like), but you do it so damn well I don't mind lol.
This was swung nicely! I play this song in my jazz band, I play first alto, and swinging it is more different, doesn't sound as good as how you did it.
Best five minutes I've come across by chance on youtube ever.
Wow, that dreamy jazzy ending after that jam! What a juxtposition...beautiful.
You are a Pro!!!!!! I will play this song with your pro council! 🎉🎉🎉
the very definition of jazz /blues/funk all in one monstrous package
glad i found u again, after the old blues licks....
1:29 that escalated quickly...
Just speechless with admiration. The bass lines are so impressive and all those subtle chords are a delight.
