Select is for drinks as far as I’m concerned. The 10 is good but too watery with that low abv. The Quarter Cask wins with ease.

The 10 year is my go-to, but the Cask Strength 10 year is one of my all-time favorites. I just wish it was more accessible and I didn't have to drive over the border to South Carolina to get my hands on it. However, I recently just grabbed a bottle of the Quarter Cask locally for about $75 and I was absolutely blown away by how sweet it was for a Laphroaig. I was expecting it to blast me in the nostrils and palate with an overwhelming amount of peat due to the extra barrel impact from the smaller casks, but I was pleasantly surprised by the almost dessert whiskey nature of it. It reminds me of Ardbeg's core lineup. You've got the 10 which has a very earthy quality to it, but the Uigeadail and Corryvreckan give me a chocolatey and sweet barbeque smoke vibe sometimes depending on what I've recently had to eat.

I agree with all of that. If you check out Life and whiskey on Bitchute.com you will see my reviews of the cask strength as well as the sherry cask and the lore. all great bottles. also the ardbegs. just capped off my core line up review with the An Oa which will be available on Bitchute in the next few weeks. I also have a review of the Ardcore coming soon and have already done the ARRRRDDDbeg on Bitchute. check it out for more reviews. Currently my bitchute video releases are about 80 videos ahead of youtube. Thanks for watching. Cheers!

Decades ago Laphroaig 10 was harsh crap, I used to get the 18 & triple wood back then. I recently tried the 10 again, WTF, it’s magnificent. I bought every bottle in my town. 1/4 Cask is excellent.

Laphroaig 10 was my intro into Islay whiskies many years ago, since then I have become a big Ardbeg fan, and Ardbeg 10 is hard to beat, and for a more economical pour I've been really enjoying the Wee Beastie.

Agree all of those are great. My economical pour is the McClellands Islay. Ardbeg I find the An oa and the Uigeidal hard to beat. As for Laphroiag I have now been more of a Sherry Cask or Cask strength guy. And the Coal Ila and Bunnahabhain are top rankers for me. Finally, I just can't escapethe greatness of Lagavulin 16 esp if I can find it for $66-82

I think I prefer Wee Beastie to 10!

the laphroig 10 is one of my favorite whiskies, I saw the quarter cask in a store yesterday, should have picked it up

is one of my favorites. if you can find the cask strength or sherry cask for a reasonable price, totally worth it. Also huge fan of the Lore which I can find for $78 and i think is worth it.

IDK how old you are, but the 10 used to be horrible. I always went for the 18. I recently bought the 10 again and it’s not what it used to be, I was SHOCKED at how good it is. Like you, it’s my go to. Now I think it’s actually better than the 18.

The 1/4 cask is really good, but my opinion is that it doesn’t have the bold rich flavor of the 10, it’s a little subdued, like comparing a full bodied beer to it’s “lite” counterpart.

Im really glad to hear your opinion that there is no winner or all three are winners. I agree 101%. Laphroaig is my one of the favourite smoky whisky so hard to rate them. In UK at the moment 10 is cheaper than Select because is on sale. Next one in a queue is 10 sherry cask finnish. Heard its beutiful stuff. 🙋‍♂️

Good comparison! I would have expected the 10 year old to win out, so the tie was surprising. I only have the quarter cask open for now and haven't had the 10 for quite some time, so maybe my memory is a little lackluster.

Just wait til I review the lore and the sherry cask finished 10. Those beat out all of these. Videos to come.
