    I’ve just ordered a bottle. Can’t wait to try it. This vid gives me confidence I’ve done the right thing.

    Great thoughts! I like the Quarter Cask. It’s about $100 or so before taxes in British Columbia! Worth it. Cheers.

      Looks like that tracks after the conversion. A decent value for the quality.

    Great review Tim! I really like the quarter cask. The cheapest I can get this in D.C. is $71.99. The 10yr cask strength batch 15 currently costs $84.99 at the Virginia ABC stores across the river. My choice, the 10yr cask strength. Batches vary but never disappoint. Would love to see another Laphroaig 10yr cask strength review.

      I've been getting a series of comments about the Cask Strength (which is a good buy at that price...). I guess I'll need to review it here on the channel...

    Brilliant review Tim. I got a lot of love for this Laphroaig and is the bottle I point people to for trying Laphroaig and skip the 10. Cheers!

      That's good advice. I have it on the channel in a blind tasting today, and ....

    I prefer the Quarter Cask over the 10 but only because the 10 is so watery (even the 43% version available here). The 10 Cask Strength is what it's all about! I find the Quarter Cask very tamed and quite an easy sipper.

      Certainly easy drinking at 48%. Cheers!

      @@whiskywhereabouts gotta be honest with you. 2 months later I find myself wanting to get a 10 more than I want to replace the quarter cask that only has like 1/6 left if that.

    Oh I should have mentioned the Laphroaig 10 is about $85 before taxes. The Pirt Charlotte is more expensive here and the Lagavulin 8 is 100 before taxes!

    What are your thoughts on the 10 year Cask Strength? Does that one also feel too young and medicinal?

    • @whiskywhereabouts
      @whiskywhereabouts  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Its presentation solves a lot of problems with the standard 10 Year. It's also batch specific and has been trending less medicinal. I need to get a fresh bottle and review it properly ...

    The 10 is 40 % abv here in Europe.

      Even more reason to skip it in favor of the 1/4 cask.

      @@whiskywhereabouts I use some Q´cask to Spice up the 10.

    Value wise sure it might be near the Lagavulin 8 and the PC10 but the Laga is just a rushed job, in my opinion, and the PC10 is a bit vanilla compared the Quarter Cask. I might be a bit biased but for a peaty slap across the face one will be hard pressed to find too many whiskies better than this one. Cheers Tim 🥃
