  • Today we tackle a differential breather relocation on the 2007 4Runner. Overall, I’d say this is one of the easiest, and most effective DIY mods you can do when you get your 4Runner. The assurance that it brings is second to none.
    In order to complete this modification, you need the following things:
    Tools:
    14mm Socket
    12mm Socket
    Screwdriver for hose clamps
    Parts:
    4-5 Feet of 5/16 Fuel Hose
    2x 5/16 Hose clamps
    Dorman Diff Breather: amzn.to/46gal0l
    Toyota Union: amzn.to/48kn43S

    Awesome solution! Most people run 10' of hose into the engine bay... Or into the interior... Your idea is genius!

      @@looseaxles I got a 2023 Trd off-road 4 x 4. In the process of modifying it myself. A lot cheaper to do it this way. And you still get all the great off-road goodies. Silver with blackout. Sidewinder step bars matte black, full tint and flat locking bed cover,Pedal commander also installed.

    It a great idea to move the Breather higher up and out of the dirt and water 💦but the breather is a one way valve only so if you rapidly cool the differential in a water crossing the valve closes and water can get sucked into the housing via the axle seals . swap the breather cap for a small fuel filter and you are good to go

    • @looseaxles
      @looseaxles  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Agreed! That’s a great suggestion as well. I may make an updated video for a smaller filter that fits.
