For the guys that have never done the alignment,it would have been the perfect opportunity to show how that was done. Not sure why you skipped that part??
I didn't see any comments about draining the gear oil. Did you drain and fill the gear oil without commenting on it, or do you not need to drain the gear oil before pulling the out drive?
Right- you don’t have to drain the oil to pull the sterndrive. Draining and refilling the stern drive should be done annually. I did not show that in this video b/c I have other videos showing that procedure.
Thanks. I overheated mine last year, a mechanic repaired all the burned bellows and components, but now it’s leaking gear grease. It appears to be leaking where the drive shaft enters the upper gear box. All mechanics around hear are booked through July, so I’m going to break it down and inspect/replace the seals.
@@mickruffini I thought about rebuilding/repairing my original unit. But I know it can be a really tricky procedure. Instead, I made the decision to buy one from SEI. You can buy the upper or the lower. They are pretty reasonable and come with a three year warranty.

Nice. still got unit oil and impeller.
The chipped up paint is disappointing after 1 year on your SEI.
Yes, the chipped paint is the only part that I’m disappointed in so far. I feel like they could’ve used a better quality paint.

Thanks for bringing that up! Here's a link to an earlier video where I show how to do the alignment. th-cam.com/video/_4YXC6WFAKY/w-d-xo.html.
