You're KIDDING me. I just moved in with my boyfriend and while he's letting me handle most of the decor, one of his few requests was a "comfy headboard" and I've been dying inside trying to come to terms with buying an ugly tufted one.... and then this. You guys are truly always here for me. #blessed

Is it just me that thinks this? I feel that Becky and Kelsey work SO hard but don't get the appreciation they deserve. From all of the brainstorming for video ideas and buying supplies to make DIYs these girls need to get noticed! I have followed this channel for a while and its growing pretty slow, which makes me mad/sad because I absolutely love this channel and want this amazing channel to flourish. ily guys! 💖

I recommend adding another piece of fabric to the back so it's like a giant sleeve, and stapling at the bottom, otherwise the staples rub the paint off the wall when you lean against it to read etc in bed xxx

good point :) i have seen people who make it like a pillow cover, with a zipper or velcro at the bottom, gives you a smootg surface too + you can wash it (not sure of how it was hanged tho, kind of forgot)

I'm getting ready to move in a couple weeks and i am getting some new furniture, and while I love my current bed frame and headboard, I love this more. I'm going to home depot and Michaels tonight and making this exact same headboard in a silvery/gray velvet. I am also going to make it so i can attach it to my bedframe. Thanks for the tutorial!

Find a second-hand standing music stand (e.g. for a violinist, flautist or other standing musician.) Clean it well and spray-paint it white. I have one that is designed to hold three pages of sheet music side-by-side (e.g. for a choral director) and it is perfectly stable for a big canvas. If you need more height stability, you can clamp a large sheet of thin plywood or foam board to it. My music stand/easel was free second-hand from a musician who had several and was trying to de-clutter. For outdoor stability (e.g. in a breeze) you can wrap a sand bag around the base. You can make your own from heavy-duty lawn/leaf bags.

I did this same exact method to build my own headboard, except I added 2x4's to the back for legs. Living with Pip is dead on with the price. I paid under $50 for the wood, stain, fabric, foam, and batten.

For a cleaner finish (and to avoid scratching the wall) you can cut a piece of cardboard (maybe from a refrigerator box?) about 1/2 smaller on all sides than the headboard, and spray-mount it to something like an inexpensive sheet (a bleached & pressed sheet from a thrifts store is fine as long as there are no stains - yuck.) Give it a day to dry and then cut the sheet to 1/2 " larger than the cardboard backing outline and wrap/glue the edges down. Now you have a backing that can be glued to cover the board & "work" on the back of the headboard, making little cut-out slots with an exacto knife for the hanging hardware. Voila, a smooth, clean backing that won't rub/scratch the wall when you lean against the headboard over a period of years.
