We found ourselves in a similar situation with a 3 month old in March of 2020. Wife was originally going to stay at home then lockdowns came and my well paying job (130-150k) that was 80% commission was deemed essential but there were no customers. So we made the switch, her job as an icu nurse wasn’t going anywhere.
It was tough, she was born early and in the NICU for weeks, came home on oxygen and we had 2 appointments a week at the doctors. You do what needs to be done for your family though. Now it’s 4 years later I’m still a stay at home dad, my wife makes more than I did and she only works 3 days a week. So we get tons of family time, tons of adventures and yeah I guess miss my career but compared to what I have experienced and how much better our marriage is and how great my life has gotten because of my daughter I wouldn’t change a darn thing

Before he reminds her of her biblical calling or forces her to make a choice she does not like he needs to live up to being a real man. Only then can a woman really have a choice to be a fulltime mom. There would be no issue if he did that because it would cause her to agree more freely.

Don't get anyone pregnant nor have a child if you don't want to actually PARTICIPATE in parenthood.
Parenthood is more than just bringing in income.
It's a CONSCIOUS decision to participate in ALL of the daily things that being a parent (not a babysitter) brings....not just the cute smiles/giggles and this 'leaving a legacy' soundbite that some folks mention when it comes to parenthood.
Parenthood is also the tantrums, sleepless nights, doctor's appointments, caring for a child through sickness, etc.
In this case, he shouldn't make an impulsive request to tell his wife to quit her job, because THEIR CHILD was screaming all day...so what, that's what children do sometimes. Learn how to parent through these circumstances...not push the responsibility on your wife because she's 'submissive'.
Frustration, anger and moments of 'WTF does this child want' are normal for all parents---but you push through them and keep it moving.
Planning for your wife to leave her job requires just that...A PLAN.

How tragic to put your own child into daycare to minister to other children, so that later your child can have that same brokenness and need that same ministry. Daycare began as a last ditch option for single moms, and it’s sad how our culture has normalized it. She can be part of the ministry at a different time of life, that baby needs time with mom right now, even more than time with dad.
They could live on his salary, even if it’s ranging down to 50k.
I love George, but he needs to stop it with promoting daycare. Working is not for mothers while their children are that age. Children should not have to go to daycare. I and my brother were in daycare for a while after my mother tragically died at 32. So my dad was doing the best he could with what he had. But it shouldn’t be the normal thing. You have your whole life to work at jobs, but not during this special bonding time that little children need with their mamas.
Listen to Suzanne Venker about daycare and this special time mamas have with babies that never comes back if you have grown up in this millennial era where daycare has become the norm and it sounds offensive to you or politically incorrect to hear that daycare is a last ditch thing because it feels comfortable to you. If you love your job, you can go back. The Proverbs 31 woman describes a lot of things, but that doesn’t mean everything is all at once, in the same stage of life. There will be a time you can work a job again, but give yourself and your child the gift of these vital years, you can give other years to a job. Companies try to get women to give the prime of their life and health to the job and their worst and exhaustion to their families - don’t fall for it.

@@garlandofbooks4494 I agree totally. People call it offensive to believe that mama should be the sole caretaker but they’ve listened and heard your voice for 9 months. They know your smell. They know your warmth.
To magically snap a finger and make the a dad a responsible and patient parent ain’t gonna happen overnight.
But the irony of taking care and ministering to others children as your child may need the same later is a little backwards.
The growth of a child isn’t always about money but bonding is super important.

Totally agree, I did put my 2 older daughters in daycare so I can go to cosmetology school, my youngest was able to speak ( in case she needed to disclose something to me) The people for the most part were nice but the director was very hot-headed. But as the years past and I had another child all of my kids were in public and chartet schools ( but I was being drawn by the Lord to homeschool for many reasons). I must share with you, that the bond with my last child, is amazing bc he tells me things most young men wouldn't say to their moms. But I now SEE the craziness of the public school gradual push with liberally woke ideology, the feminist movement, and how stay at home mom are shamed and looked down upon in today society. But when one gets a perspective and see the whole picture of how many hours OTHER people have YOUR children for 6-8 and some 9 hours a day, and how many hours the working mom ( that does not stay home but leaves the home to go to work) have with their kids..its crazy...same thing with daycare little babies needs to be cared by their mommas, not some other stranger. I am aware of single moms and how difficult this is for them, but it is not impossible. God will make a way. Im a grandma of 6 now, I babysit for one of my daughters and IF she allowed me, I would homeschool her two little ones, bc I know what craziness happens in daycare centers and in the public, charter, and even private school system.

The child should not suffer b/c it's adult parents want to have sex. If the hubby doesn't have stable income with his current job, get a new one. Also, no reason why the wife can't do a part time gig at the house per Proverbs 31. God bless~
