You could say I'm a veteran. My favourite island back in the day was either Steamworks, Spy, or Nabooti Island. I was there when only Early Poptropica, Shark Tooth, and Time Tangled Island were out. I was finishing all the islands as they came out and saw it grow and played a lot of the islands that are membership only for free. 12 years after I started, I still haven't found a game like it to fill the void in my 21 year old self's heart, now that they aren't releasing new islands anymore. Edit: Apparently, they are coming out with a new one. I KNOW WHAT I'M GOING TO DO SOON!

Yeah but Poptropica World's was removed from the play store. And now it's just Poptropica. Actually Poptropica is still going. 2 new island came out yesterday or like a few days ago. Snazzlemast Island and Reality TV: Wild Safari. They removed the old islands but that's because it was made in flash so their porting it to a different engine that's not flash. You'll see them come back eventually. The only reason why there hasn't been so many islands lately is because of flash dieing. So their trying to port it ALL to a different engine. But their NOT removing it from PC.

Probably one of my biggest complaints is how many items are no longer in the store but then it makes my silver renegade robot pretty unique, as well as items I purchased before they were member exclusive so I have some gold cards despite me never buying a membership.

When they introduced the "Replay Island" feature, I completed Early Poptropica 100 times just to be able to say I did. I think my younger self wanted to get featured on the Poptropica blog. That didn't happen, but... It's weird. Reading through these comments makes me remember just how much time I poured into this game. Now I hardly ever think about it.

EDIT: I looked it up, they were called “common rooms”, users could “chat” using pre-written questions and answers, “battle” by playing competitive mini games, and add eachother as friends. :0 Poptropica wasn’t strictly single player!!!! There was always one building per island that was online and you could chat with people. I can’t remember if you could type whatever you wanted or if it was a set list of phrases. I think you could also play mini games with other players in there?? It’s so foggy, I haven’t done that since like 2008z

rhi annon I tried following a walkthrough by the Thinknoodles but there was a glitch every time even when I restarted so it was SO annoying and I couldn’t get through one part
I remember there was a spooky ghost island with a part where you can look through a telescope to see a place you passed through from a different angle (blew my 7 year old mind). Well, I always played with the volume on max and after about 10 seconds of looking through the telescope there is actual audio of a lady behind you. This felt like playing a VR game and feeling the character's breath on your neck. Needless to say I jumped out of my chair and looked behind myself so fast that I hurt myself.
I beat all of poptropica when I was younger and recently I went back to it and cried about the major lack of islands (apparently the newer accounts have even less :_( ) but I found a website directory thing in which I can play every single old island and its incredible and such a fun nostalgia trip XD

Astro Knights Island was, and still is my favorite island. Reasons: 1. Had customizable spaceships (If I remember correctly it impacts the gameplay) 2. You got to hurl the invincible space sharks into a black hole. 3. The lore of the island is well established, you are introduced to the villain early on, but never actually meet him till the very end. Also he has a cult which you sneak into. 4. You have a companion through the whole island. I won't say who, but having them by your side to help you solve puzzles, and even controlling them in the final boss is nice.
I was addicted to that game for years. And there is a updated version called Poptropica Worlds. I also was one of those nerds who loved beating a the islands...until I beat them all eventually.

Actually Poptropica isn't gone it's still being made. They discontinued "Poptropica" and started working on "Poptropica World's". You can play it now and there's only like 2-3 islands. But they are in fact still working on this new game.
I remember this game. Old poptropica in the computer lab, 2007 - 2010, after I completed Mavis Beacon typing challenges. Then coming home and playing it on Dial Up. Times were hard.
I LOVED this game. I finished almost every island (The Astro Knights island was waaay too hard). I remember thinking that I had to fit in wherever I went, so I changed my clothing to disguise myself every island. Nabooti, Superhero, and Time Travel were my favorites!
But the sad thing is, Spy Island is so old that it keeps skipping on my computer. Is this just happening to me? I miss Poptropica, they don't update it anymore.

Holy shit, yes! I remember back when it was a beta test for members only. Luckily, i did have a membership back then.
I remember there was a spooky ghost island with a part where you can look through a telescope to see a place you passed through from a different angle (blew my 7 year old mind).
Well, I always played with the volume on max and after about 10 seconds of looking through the telescope there is actual audio of a lady behind you. This felt like playing a VR game and feeling the character's breath on your neck. Needless to say I jumped out of my chair and looked behind myself so fast that I hurt myself.

Astro Knights Island was, and still is my favorite island.
Reasons:
1. Had customizable spaceships (If I remember correctly it impacts the gameplay)
2. You got to hurl the invincible space sharks into a black hole.
3. The lore of the island is well established, you are introduced to the villain early on, but never actually meet him till the very end. Also he has a cult which you sneak into.
4. You have a companion through the whole island. I won't say who, but having them by your side to help you solve puzzles, and even controlling them in the final boss is nice.

Actually Poptropica isn't gone it's still being made. They discontinued "Poptropica" and started working on "Poptropica World's". You can play it now and there's only like 2-3 islands. But they are in fact still working on this new game.
Worlds is kinda dead, I think. Pretty sure they're working on the original Poptropica more.
