Tyral fixes all is another great small engines channel. I picked up a Ryobi trimmer from the garbage and now it's the second best engine, my number 1 is the echo old one.👍
Well done on the fix mate and ta for the shout out. Sometimes if the exhaust is black and full of carbon If you put a small amount of petrol in the exhaust when off the blower then burn it off. Its then cleans its self.
Hey you got it working! I skipped ahead sorry. I've got to do the same thing for my Ryobi blower also. It takes over 11 pulls to start sometimes. And now I'm having the high rpm bog down also. Your video demonstrated to me how far I'll have to go. But a nice way to spend a couple of hours eh? Thanks for putting this up.
Hi Paul, first off I cannot thank you enough for taking the time to share your knowledge and experience to help others like me earn some extra income. I have found a hobby that I really enjoy and it profits! Anyway, just a quick one, I have a very large garden (but tiny bungalow lol) so I want the biggest cut width I can get to make things easier. I now have 2 mowers which fit the bill but I'm not sure which to keep and which to sell. I have a 53cm Mountfield laser Omega with a Honda GCV135 4.5 engine (1999) and a 54cm Mountfield SP554 With mountfield OHC engine (2007). Both are self propelled and in excellent condition. Which should I keep?
@@MowerMan One more Paul and I promise I'll leave you alone 😉. The 53cm (1999) Mountfield Laser Omega with Honda GCV135 4.5 OR 53cm (2011) Mountfield SP555 with Honda GCV160. Both again, in very good nick. I want to say newer is better, but in your vast experience which do you think would make a better keeper?
Great informative video, I have the exact same blower with the exact same problem. I am going to attempt to take it apart and clean the carb as you did. I have had it about 4 years and it has never ran correctly. 👍
Hi paul super video again mate, well done on the blower , really humbled by the shout out, thankyou so much! Made my day! As others have mentioned, donyboy73 is a super mechanic well worth a watch. 👍
Hi Paul hope you are keeping well. I had 2 of those blowers for my first year in the garden maintenance business. To be honest they are not that good. Keep an eye on the cylinder head bolts they tend to come loose after a while. Keep up the good work love watching your channel. 👍👍👍👍👍
Hi, i have an sv150 engine that smokes a bit whilst running. I've ran for around 20 mins and still smokes. It hasnt been tipped up. I seem to remember you did a vid on valves with a smoking engine but i cant for the life of me find it.
hi paul if you do any more 2 strokes if you release fuel cap before you take the fuel lines off that stops the fuel coming out of the lines and then just empty the fuel out of the tank and check the fuel filter
I have this model but I think I need to replace the carburettor, anyone have any idea where to get one as this zama model seems to be discontinued....all the newer models have the choke on the other side and at a rotated angle....C1U-h130 I believe?
Hi Paul I watch all your videos you must watch the repair specialist videos he has some fantastic tutorials he shows you what all those little one way check valves do just about everything you need to know about those small 2 stroke carbs I think ghs sell those small metering springs separate those little 2 stroke carbs are like micro surgery after the big 4 stroke take it easy thanks for all your videos
Hi Paul I have a 550E qualcast got it going but I know I am missing something or being stupid when I put the filter on it stops can you help it is an old filer but when I put it in it shuts the engine down David
Evening Paul quick question for you ,I know you say to use genuine parts for carbs on the Briggs engines is that true with the spark plugs as well , obviously not gonna buy B&Q ones but was looking to buy some plugs and was unsure about aftermarket ones . Also there's a lot of rock wood one have you tried them
An off the cuff mention for the cheap Chinese multi tools that are about. Many won't start after storage, or just at random, if the primer bulb doesn't fill, a common problem is the fuel line has rotted and broken away at the grommet inside the tank. Many people suspect a bad primer and rebuild the carb, when all it needs is 4 inches of fuel line.
Hi Paul. I like Donyboy73 channel also, but have you heard of Bruce Pender. Another Canadian repairing small engines. But he makes great detail video. Musty1 is an American. He makes excellent video, and he works on any kind of engine. He has a passion for VW air-cooled engines. But the content of his channel is excellent. Never get bored by his stuff
@@MowerMan it does run fine, good fix. I've lost a few of those tiny springs, my self. Indeed, they may as well be on the moon. If I really have to get it going quickly, I'll try a rebuild. Generally though, I just get a new carb on Amazon. Just a few bucks more than a GND kit. I have a trash picked Troy Bilt 4 cycle trimmer that needed a carb. New oem was almost $50.00, got one from China on Amazon for $20.00, to the door in exactly 2 weeks. Identical to the old one. Its my favorite unit, I put the edging attachment on it for the driveway. You ever run across 4 cycle trimmers? Easy to crank, and relatively quiet, lots of torqe, too.
Most people do not know how to take care of their machines . I see bad fuel , broken fuel lines ,dirty carbs because they left fuel in the machine when stored .Always empty the machines of all fuel when stored .
Have a look at therepairspecialist channel, he has some very detailed vids on how carbs work, with moving diagrams, and tips for diagnosis. I'm currently waiting on a carb kit for a similar blower, a homelite brand made by ryobi
@@MowerMan I asked because you often mentioned during the video that it was raining where you are and I though perhaps it had been very dry there or something.
Check out " The repair specialist " he has some excellent tutorials and diagram how those strimmer/ chainsaw carbs work, or Don't !! well worth it for a ton of useful info in his channel.

About time you started two strokers Paul 👍
I think the bent end of the blower tube is upside-down. Should it not blow more parallel to the ground?
