    I love my 2017 street twin. Just hit 18,000 miles today. Best bike ever. Took it cross country. It will do it all. I push it hard and never a problem. Did a nice 160 mile country twisty ride today flying around corners at 70 with great handling.

    Great review! Love your comments and choice of road! I just purchased a Honda Rebel in June, and want a Triumph Street Twin ALREADY! However, I can't afford to take a hit on selling my Rebel so soon, so I'm gonna have to wait on the Street Twin until maybe next year. Love this bike!

      Jim - thank you for commenting and congrats on your Rebel purchase! I certainly enjoyed my day on the ST. The Rebel is an nice machine. If you decide to change rides, wait until the spring when values are strong and look for a leftover or a used Triumph w/minimal mileage. Cheers.

I can afford the Street Twin now, but ultimately know that I'll want to upgrade to a Speed Twin, Just that extra expense is a bit much. Off to watch your Speed twin video now. Lovely review thank you. For someone mainly solo riding that seems a great bike. I’m pleased to hear Triumph have upped the spec. I wonder if it’s brother the T100 would be better for someone taking a passenger because you can get comfy seats and pillion backrests too. I’d be interested to hear a review by you on the new Tiger 900 GT.

    • @atastefortheroad4475
      @atastefortheroad4475  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pete - thank you. That's an interesting question on the T100 vs the Street Twin. The emotional distance is greater than the technical one. The ST does feel that bit more sporty where the T100 - like the T120 - enjoys a touch more sedate pace. Either way, you're getting a well finished machine - and it just gets better w/a new set of shoes. Thanks again for commenting and enjoy the rest of your week.

      Tbh, I own a street twin, and I do not feel it has to little space for a pillion.
      For reference im 6'2 and my wife is a bit shorter than me but still fairly tall. I wouldn't go round the world, but going for coffee or a wee cruise its fine.
      P.s. I got 2016.. not fast by any means but the torque get you and your pillion moving easy enough

    • @atastefortheroad4475
      @atastefortheroad4475  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Peter - the owner purchased all of the accessories from the Triumph catalog, so if the Signature Mirrors cover all Triumph heritage models - then yes. They're nice mirrors and very solid. I hope this helps.

    • @atastefortheroad4475
      @atastefortheroad4475  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pedro - thank you. The engine differences - tone, feel, character - between the 900 and 1200 are not big, but it's easy to feel the difference in power and torque. The Street Twin is a bit more sporty and feels lighter on its feet. The T120 is happiest at 5/10ths as a gentleman's cruiser. Both feel substantial and are well made. My one recommendation would be to replace the Phantom tires. A set of Conti's or Avon's will transform either bike. Happy hunting!

      Very simple, if you plan on doing max 100 km/h for lo ger stretches, the 900cc is fine. Will you cruise 120km/h for longer stretches, hands down the 1200..
      That said, I have the 900, I rather take a detour on an 80km/h Road, than sit on a highway for long stretches on end.
      Don't get me wrong, it will do 120, its just not happy there.

    Am looking at the street twin, is there much heat giving off the radiator while riding or in traffic.

    • @atastefortheroad4475
      @atastefortheroad4475  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      David - I didn't find the heat to be a problem, but I was riding in the autumn and in full leathers. In July traffic in jeans, you'll feel a bit more heat. Overall, given the engine power and exhaust location, I don't think it will be a big problem. Go for it!

    It's a pitty for the single front disc

    • @atastefortheroad4475
      @atastefortheroad4475  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The single Brembo front disk works very well here. Given the power on tap, a second disk isn't needed. She stops just fine and the brake lever pressure is excellent for new riders and those returning to the sport. Pre 2019, the front brake was a definite weakness.

      @c.g.c2067 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Terry Ges my question is, how much better does the St.Twin Brembo version perform compared to the older version? Is it just a matter of initial bite or does it actually stop in less meters?
