    I ordered my new iron Stone Street twin yesterday. I had a 2018 model and for some dumb reason let it go. I terribly miss it so I will soon be back in the saddle again. I am 5‘7“ and it fits me like a custom-made glove. Super bike at all respects. It’s not just a great first bike it’s a great bike at any time of life. I have been riding 60 years.

    • @billy4rocks

      That’s a good point, it is a great bike at any time of life, as well as a ideal first “big” bike... which speaks volumes.

    I think TRIUMPH nailed it with this model , I think it’s one of the prettiest bikes out there and it handles so well a lot of people see it as an entry level machine but I think that’s doing it a disservice, I love my street twin and wouldn’t be without it

    I have a 2016 I picked up in late 2018 and put about 8,500 miles on. The mirrors you get used to and learn to adjust so they work better. The start of every riding season I find I have to find that sweet spot and adjust them to see around myself. Taller people (I'm 5'7") tell me the bike feels like the bike sorta slides them forward. That's why I think your bike has the suede-like material on the seat. I feel that slide too sometimes and I think it was worse on the leather-style seat. My rear brake is a bit ornamental too but I tend to use both brakes in most cases together at a stop so it doesn't bother me. I learned to ride a shift on this bike which has a slipper or is it a wet clutch? I was terrified of learning to shift and the bike made it easy. There are moments, if I hit a twistee just right, where the bike sits down and just drives around the corner perfectly. I commute on it whenever possible. I have saddlebags on it. Do errands on it. Took it for 160 miles in a day trip. I think it's a great all-around bike and fits the needs of most people. If speed isn't your thing. If easy handling. Easy shifting. Nice cornering. A bike that really is fun and a joy to ride, I find the Twin perfect. And when I get off at the end of the day, I just sit and look at it. It really is a nice looking machine too.

    Good review, I have this bike, its Awesome, one of the easiest bikes I’ve ridden smooth, awesome gearbox and ideal bike for those looking for their first big bike. I find I ride it more than my Ducati Scrambler Icon Dark or my 1976 Kawasaki Z900 which is becoming to valuable to ride.

    Thanks for your review! I’m a short rider (1,65m ‐ sorry I’m not use to count in feet...) and I think to replace my 15yo F650GS by this Street Twin. What is your feeling about the handling on wet roads, with these Pirelli? I’m a daily rider in Brussels and the weather is quite the same as in London...

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hello Kirby, well it was pretty miserable weather when i was riding the bike and at no point did i notice any limitations of the tyre, not that i ever pushed them to there limit, i imagine they are far more capable than my abilities as a rider.

    I'm in a dilemma btween the ST and the t100, there is not much price diference, I want it for my first big bike. Which would you choose?

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Well that is a dilemma i would like to have! I think i would go for the Street Twin, based purely on its looks, i prefer the more modern lines, and its a little less retro for my taste. And the st has a little more bhp.

    • @stephenperry2835
      @stephenperry2835 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've have experience with both 2019 T100 and Street Twin. The main difference is that the T100 is, as its classed; a Cruiser. It comes more into its own on highways than the Street Twin, though the Street Twin does this well, too.. In my opinion the T100 looks better with the chrome and spoke wheels. The Street Twin is much more nimble and spontaneous though. And important for me, being short, is much better to manoeuvre at slow speed and move around driveways, etc.

If I do I also hope to put a Triumph Speed Twin 900 (Triumph changed the name) in my garage.I've owned many bikes since 1967 mostly Japanese bikes and four Harleys, but I've never owned a Triumph. I swear you guys. I've had 5 totally different bikes. All different brands. Homda, suzuki, Yamaha, Kawasaki. And now I have a 2005 t 100. And they all rode just fine. And so does the Triumph. Most bikes ride smooth and fine, as long as everything is true and in good working order.
    But it's ok. Nothing wrong with selling the brand ur riding at the time. I do like the layout of the speed twin. But I like me t100 too. Thanks friend.

    Only problem with all triumph is fuel tank too small ..i live in Australian backyard..from my town to next town 340km and in between no fuel station and this bike only goes 200km on full tank

    • @billy4rocks
      @billy4rocks  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I guess that is why the DR650 with the safari tank is a popular choice where you are.

      Only goes 200km on full tank? People are claiming it can go 320km before a refill but yeah i get your point a larger tank as a option would be nice.

I found my ideal bike, the street twin, by sitting on all of the bikes on show at the.NEC. As a shortish rider it’s perfect and delivers all the performance I need. Hey Jorge, Well my experience of it was limited to journeys off no more than 45 mins at a time, and there was no discomfort other than my hands, which is an easy fix. But as far age,,,,when I was 40, no leg position bothered me. Now at 68, i have a t100 and a little arthritis in me knees, and I think i need more a forward controolled ride. After about an hour riding the T100 and my knees need a break.
