Great finishes Kate. You have some beautiful yarns. I loved the section at the beginning with fabulous scenery, marvellous mill and uplifting music. You have made my day. ❤❤
What a lovely pod cast.I ❤ it so much. I will be going to sleep, with a big smile on my face. Thank you 🙏 from a little old lady , who lives in the woods of Oregon USA
Hi Kate. Thank you for taking us on a bit of your trip. My dream trip is Ireland. I think your hat idea is great. I have been want😅nag to order one of the knitting machine and this one seems prefect. Thanks again.
Awwww, Kate! I loved the opening and closing videos. It makes me want to visit Ireland for the 4th time! I keep thinking I should see another country but my heart belongs in Ireland. Your knitting machine has my mind racing!!! Think of all the gift knitting that could be accomplished with it!!! 💕🧶
Always lovely to see you Kate..your knitting is beautiful and love all the hats….I will be visiting Dublin in June and can’t wait to go to This is Knit, thank you for all the scenery at the beginning and the end…
Hi Kate, as always, I really enjoyed your podcast. Thank you for sharing all that you do and the scenery too. At the end, it looked like snowflakes were falling outside the window behind you. Today March 16th, we were 8 Celsius with glorious sunshine! Spring is nearly here. Happy St. Patrick’s Day!
Hi Yolanda I hope my comment didn't sound as a form of privacy invasion your comment tells of a wonderful woman with a beautiful heart which led me to comment I don't normally write in the comment section but I think you deserve this complement. If you don’t mind can we be friends? Thanks God bless you….🌹🌹
Lovely podcast Kate...enjoyed all your hats...I have both the large and small addi, and have made many a hat on them....lovely seeing donegal, and the trip to Dublin with your lovely daughter...look forward to the next one....take care...🥰
So lovely to see you again Kate and as always really enjoyed the episode. I am going to look at the knitting machine as the hats looked lovely and it is such a good idea to donate to local charities. Thank you for the clips of your trips and the music and sending very best wishes from our house to yours x
Awesome to get out with you in your beautiful country side and the awesome Mill and Studio......very interesting to watch. The colours are just amazing sitting there in the loom. Your hats are gorgeous and will keep some very lucky people wam and cosy. Take care Kate love from Down Under xox
Loved the footage on your trip to donegal. Beautiful scenery. It’s on my bucket list to see. Wow those hats, Kate. They are all so petty. Love that machine.
Goodness, that's a lot of hats! Well done you! I've been turning my worsted/aran acrylic scraps into Project Linus blankets for our local children's hospital.
Loved today. Finishing Clue 4 of MKAL22…. Enjoyed all of your content. Loved the views of your trip. When I visited I regret not purchasing the Donegal. My bags just couldn’t zip if I had. Thank you.
What a lovely, lovely intro today, Kate. Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us! And thank you so much to you and Emma @woollymammothfibres for the gorgeous yarn! So very grateful!! Your hat-making binge is such an inspiration. May the recipients be warm and feel cared for in their woolly head cozies :-)
Thank you so much for the Irish music, scenery, wool and your enthusiasm for all things knitting and Irish. My great grandmother came from Northern Ireland to the US in the 1890s. I love listening to you speak. This was a wonderful Patrick's Day present!
It has been a nice catch up. You certainly have been a busy little knitter. Thanks also for the idea of knitting for the cold heads that are in our communities. I, too, have purchased a Sentro but have yet to use it. Now I know what to do with it.
thank you for sharing your machine knit hats, i bought the same machine intending to make hats for the local homeless shelter, was thrilled to make 3 in one day! i'm thinking of getting a sock machine to make socks and fingerless gloves to donate.
Hi Kate, love your Donegal yarn, what a beautiful color - perfect project for it! What a lot of lovely hats you made as well. So glad to see what you've been up to, and thank you for sharing your trips. Happy St. Patrick's Day 💚
I just enjoyed this so much and was inspired by your projects and your peacefulness. I absolutely loved the videos of your yarny trips that you shared with us. I am always looking for ways to use my yarn. All your hats are great and I am sure they will be put to good use.

I pick up the stitches on the hats with circular needles and decrease the stitch count in each end the decrease the bulk in the top. It works very well
Thanks Kate!!!! Loved it early this cold snowy morning , Happy st Patricks day,,,,,!! Love the footage ,,,and views,,, Love UR shirley brian socks,,, and those hats!!!!Perfect,,,,, ElaineXoxo 🏡🏡🏡🏘🌷🌷
The hat volume was wild! I watch a few TH-camrs who have recently purchased a Sentro but no one else has been as productive as you have been. The group that you donate them to will be able to help quite a few people stay warm. What a great way to use up some leftovers.
thanks for the lovely visit, kate. i hope this isn’t printed twice - the first comment i made just flew away somewhere. you gave me a great idea today - i'm going to buy a sentro for when i can no longer hand knit, which, i admit, i’ve been worried about. did you know that you can attach a power drill to the sentro and really zip?! as a sock knitter for the local women’s shelter, it was wonderful to see all of your beautiful hats. thanks for taking us on your trips. happy march! 🧶❄️☀️
Wow!! Love your charity hats!! They are going to be loved by the recipients. I've forgotten about your lucky dip Kal. I've been doing a yarn of the month Kal I must remember to enter March in the lucky dip.
I loved your podcast Kate, the video of Studio Donegal, Knit It and the scenery of Ireland make me long for another visit. Great job on those hats too! 😚
Really enjoyed your travel blogs, so thank you! Kate your hat's are amazing and will provide such comfort and warmth to all who receive them! What a gift!
Thank you for another great podcast, loved every minute of it. The Studio Donegal yarn is absolutely gorgeous. Can’t believe how many hard you have made they are all so individual ❤

Hi - I really enjoy watching your podcast. It was nice to see you and Wooly Mammoth chatting together. That was a lovely pattern she wrote. I just wanted to let you know this is the first time I have ever seen adverts during your podcast. Maybe you already know about it but just thought I would mention. Of course, I will still watch but thought I would mention in case it was something new.
Were they in the middle?? I have it marked that they don’t show up through the video because I don’t like that in the videos that I watch. They should only be at the beginning or end. Thanks for alerting me….I’m off to check! 😊
Beautiful scenery 🥰 I knit a cabled sweater in Studio Donegal yarn and absolutely loved it!!! The color you are using for your vest is is lovely and will highlight your eyes 🤩. I'm very intrigued by the crank-in knitting machine, and your hat production is on fire!! 😆 Thank you for another fun episode 💞

Lovely catching up again Kate. A wee trip to studio Donegal is on my list. I’ve seen a few podcasters use that machine so it was great hearing your opinion and seeing the finished hats. As someone who does a weekly walkabout shift in Belfast with vulnerable service users (and works alongside a bunch of other charities also handing out provisions) I know your hats will go down a treat. Where possible we try to let folk choose rather than give them what we think so the variety will not go unnoticed Recently we have been handing out as many as we can carry in our backpacks by the end of our four hours they are all gone. I pulled out a skein of yarn from my happy memories bag (yarn from all the festivals I’ve gone to over the years ) and am going to join in with the Kal this month

Have been waiting for your podcast! So glad to see you. Loved the tour videos and all of your projects. I would like to make the crocheted scarf myself. What a great way to do hats for charity and use up some stash! I have bagged up my monthly lucky dip skeins and have been doing the monthly knitting, I have also joined your Ravelry group, but I am not on instagram and am not sure how to post a picture to Ravelry (not very tech savvy here!). Can anyone give me pointers on how to do that?
Thanks for the lovely podcasts! I especially appreciate that you're doing charity knitting, and after seeing your program, I'm going to get a Sentro and make up hats for charity too. I'm wondering, have you tried using it to knit really long tubes and making scarves? Or, would it work for cowls too? Thanks again.
Hmmm….that would be a slight downside of it. The little sucker pads if wet stick quite well but it can slip a little, but not always. It’s not too difficult to hold on to though 😊
For the rounded toe in a toe up I cast on 16 stitches, 8 on each needle (Judy’s Magic Cast on …tutorial linked in description box), I increase every row until I have 24 stitches on each needle, then every other row until I have 32 stitches on each needle (I knit a 64 stitch sock). To knit the heel I follow the pattern in The Navigate Socks by Marceline Smith (linked above)😊
Thanks Kate, I normally knit toe up socks but struggle with German short rows so am looking for another way if possible. I’ll certainly check the pattern.

I am blown away with the hats! All for goodwill. That's right up my alley. Love the idea. Congratulations on a job well done.
Love all the hats - best stash busting I’ve seen and all for a worthwhile cause.
It's a great idea to make hats with your scraps!👍Also loved footage from your trip to Studio Donegal.

I'm wondering, have you tried using it to knit really long tubes and making scarves? Or, would it work for cowls too? Thanks again.
Thank you😊It would definitely work for long tubes and cowls. You can also knit flat on it and knit a long scarf that way but I haven’t tried that yet.
That’s so thoughtful of you Charcerv, Thanks for your positive review,How are you and how’s the weather over there?
Question: Does the Sentro knitting machine stay in place while you are using it …is it difficult to hang onto while you are cranking the handle?❤️🇨🇦
Hmmm….that would be a slight downside of it. The little sucker pads if wet stick quite well but it can slip a little, but not always. It’s not too difficult to hold on to though 😊
How do you do your rounded toe and heel turn in toe up? Is the heel turn German short rows?
For the rounded toe in a toe up I cast on 16 stitches, 8 on each needle (Judy’s Magic Cast on …tutorial linked in description box), I increase every row until I have 24 stitches on each needle, then every other row until I have 32 stitches on each needle (I knit a 64 stitch sock). Thanks Kate, I normally knit toe up socks but struggle with German short rows so am looking for another way if possible. I’ll certainly check the pattern.
Where can I get the humbug scarf pattern from please??
The pattern is linked in the description box below the video 😊
Thank you
Which Centro do you have the 40 or 48 needles?
The 48
